Damn son, thats a long one!
I would LOVE to see gameplay/replays of decks you made an In Depth Guide on. Just to showcase the deck and playstyle and what problems you might run into and how to handle it. Similar to what you've done in this video.
I am not a big fan of hamster in general, cause its slow, but I think with 3 E-cons hamster becomes much more viable/versatile.
And thanks for the video, man. Must have been taken ages to produce.
Yea, normally I don't add gameplay bc its so long, and general gameplay advice usually is enough but Sabers are just too complex.
I feel like for X-sabers a lot of their swamming options feel unsafe or an over-commitment. Every time I put down a Faultroll or Boggart Knight it feels like a coin toss. But at the same time you have to swam as a lot of the monsters like Airbellum Pashuul Emmersblade etc. just don't do anything on their own. Definitely a high skill deck.
That's why decree main is really helpful
I recently picked it up, u made it a lot easier.
I love the deck, especially how hard it is to Darksoul Search off a neutral Game State.
Makes it feel like i have tons of control over the game and i need to think ahead a lot
Yea x-sabers have infinite options.
A bit late to this one, but I finally made time to watch this vid all the way through while (otherwise) mindlessly grinding in a game. X-Sabers is an archetype that aesthetically never caught my eye during the 5D's era since it was one of those oddball Duel Terminal archetypes, but my interest was piqued when I noticed that Darksoul is this lupine Grim Reaper guy and Hyunlei is basically YGOified Chun-li. After learning more about them and seeing how powerful they were 12 years ago, I'm greatly impressed. X-Sabers are just one of those archetypes that *do* exactly what they look like - hit hard and fast. Hope to pick up some max rarity core pieces in the near future since Tengu Plant hasn't blown up like Goat and Edison market-wise haha.
Honestly it was the same for me. I never played it history now I love the archetype.
This is GalaChad erasure
X Saber is kind of a glass cannon. Also it's easy to side against. It wasn't very good in Tengu format tbh. The only time I've seen anyone really struggle against it in Tengu format is when they didn't really know anything about the deck. So they didn't know how to play against it. I remember when I first encountered it at a regional in chicago I still beat it even though it was my first time playing against it, and I was using disaster dragons. Rivalry of Warlords or Gozen Match = sad X Saber player.
X-sabers had multiple tops in tengu format. It's honestly just difficult to play and often times built improperly.
Haha you two should play a series of duels to try to figure out who is right.
Personally I think X-Saber can do it with the right build and duelist.
@@tcgrewind I can see that. It definitely takes some practice to play it right. Even when I tried my hand at it, I had to play it more than other decks before I really used it efficiently.
@PheonixT-ki8rx I mean, I'm advocating for decree main, which is somewhat controversial, while there are still plenty of people that would argue indefinitely about bogart being a mandatory 3 of in the deck lol. The complexities of its build alone alongside the difficulty are going to influence its result. Also, keep in mind that historically, x-sabers were meta relevant for multiple formats prior, so it's not unheard of for the archetype to slowly become less popular. But that doesn't change its Meta relevancy. The deck is very strong its just also very complex.
Sabers are all earth
