  • This is a living ghost town I came across during our initial days of this road trip. Interesting to see people living among the abandoned buildings.

I lived in Eureka, Utah in the early to mid-80s. The mines were still open, there were 2 bars open, 1 restaurant, a fast food place that was run by a local family. There was a local bank, 2 general goods stores. I think 2 gas stations. Grades K-12 went to the old school which was maybe 50 students. The high school was brand new. No doctors, no healthcare in town. Had to drive to Santaquin for the doctor or dentist. At noon the whistle from the mine would blow and everyone in town could hear it. The miners went home to eat lunch then back to work.

Thanks for the vid. Eureka is 100% a Mudflood city. Basically it was here before Brigham Young and the saints came. The found it and fixed it up and lived in it. Check out my vid about Magna, Utah (the town that forgot its name) for a better understanding if interested in how that could possibly be true
