Still forever grateful for Kino Lorbers Outer Limits dvds since it had interviews with Joseph Stefano and Anthony Lawrence on there. Especially Stefano who I've hardly ever seen in interviews. Nothing against Serling but he's had a zillion interviews and poor Stefano hardly had any despite his obvious talent. Thumbs up Kino!
You asked about do they teach history, I can only say in Kentucky, where I live, they don't teach history until high school..which is too late (in my opinion) to build interest in the subject. Also you said you don't listen to commentaries. If you can locate a copy I recommend you listen to David Kalat's commentary for Nosferatu. It's a Eureka’s Masters of Cinema release and probably outta print. He also did some excellent Godzilla commentaries. He mentions all the actors, and gives a ton of information on all his commentaries. I did order Tales of Adventure Collection 4 with your commentary but it hasn't been shipped yet.
I picked up a lot on their recent sale -all their Billy Wilder stuff I was still missing (Stalag 17, The Emperor Waltz, Five Graves to Cairo, A Foreign Affair, and Fortune Cookie) -Ganja & Hess -Orson Welles' Macbeth -Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid -Outrage -Murder! -Buster Keaton shorts collection
Hell yeah, I've seen First Love. Caught it on the sCinemax when I was a young'un. The greatest American Hero and a nekkid Laurie Partridge? Teenage me wasn't missing that!
Quite a variety in this lot. I'd always recommend the great British Ealing comedies of the '40s and '50s to all serious movie fans. They are some of my all-time faves. There has never been anything else quite like them.
I enjoyed your commentary on King of the Rocket Men. I like hearing about the production history, the actors and crew and the history of the genre and you focus on those points. Too many commentaries stray off into tangents. I also loved the serial itself. I love The Ladykillers and Ealing comedy. I have the DVD but I think I'll get the blu-ray.
Yes. Burn Witch Burn was originally Scorpion Releasing/Kino Lorber. However, it didn’t have both cuts I don’t think, but could be wrong? It’s nice to have the Tim Lucas Commentary and slip case!
I’ve been picking up every release that your commentary is on, not only to support your amazing work but also to really appreciate it and the amazing knowledge you bring to the table! Love everything you are doing! Keep up the amazing work my friend!
Sessue Hayakawa was a major silent film star. Most of us know him as the Commandant of the war prison in BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI. Really looking forward to the early color silent.
First Love was a movie staple of most red blooded young men in the early 80s, 100% due to Susan Dey’s physical assets. Actually, she’s a good actress too.
Thank you for the tip on Babylon Berlin, Heath! I'm always looking for a good show to watch. I'm interested in hearing what you are currently watching on TV as I can't find much at all worth watching for TV shows that are currently on anymore. I've been sticking to movies and older shows I already have on disc because I just can't find something good that vibes with me.
Fatal Vision?!... No way, that's fantastic! I remember seeing at least some of it as a kid when it aired as a two night event. All I ever recalled for years was a shadowy scene of a killer leaving the scene of the crime and that it was based on a true story, along with some spoilers I won't mention, basically enough to google it years later to find the title and look on RUclips to confirm it was the right program. It looked fairly bad, visually, I'm amazed it's getting an upgrade.
Great roundup. I think Kino Lorber has caught up with Vinegar Syndrome as a company that releases the most wth 4K releases. FIRST LOVE has a very nice score by John Barry. I admire BABYLON BERLIN, but I question whether we are still in the "golden age of television". Especially for comedy shows which are rare as hen's teeth.
Bought The Ladykillers KL release full price, plus shipping & VAT to the UK instead of the StudioCanal release, as recall a review said it was a better transfer... is it?
I imported Botany bay by your affiliate amazon link (making it an expensive blu ray, i live in the netherlands europ) and also ordered from Eureka in the UK, Shane. I want to get to know and see more from Alan Ladd. So which in your opinion should i start with of these two? And which next.. :-)
Shane is his most recognized movie, so that's a good place to start. But you'll have a blast exploring the rest of his career, which is more varied and interesting.
Super random but How has nobody released idiocracy on blu ray hopefully shout factory or somebody will get the rights and release a copy genuinely my favorite comedy movie ever

I'm super happy about the re-release of Avenging Force because I missed it the first time.

Great video once again! Thanks, Heath! I really appreciate it! God bless and stay safe!
I have Burn Witch Burn coming in today. Can't wait. Excellent cereal episode! ✌️♥️😀
5:00 seriously try to get her on again do another interview asking her about her favorite restoration projects that was a great video
It's already in the works.

Will definitely be picking up ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ in October. If it’s got Jacqueline Bisset, it’s a must purchase!
Thank you for doing these videos, differently going to puck up below the belt and botany bay

I'm watching a lot of shows on Apple TV+, who is making a lot of great television for grown ups (Slow Horses, Bad Monkey, Sunny, Ted Lasso, etc)

I thought the Anchor bay dvd of Zoltan Hound of Dracula had the better covet artwork.

Did Bridget Bardot do any films in English or are they all in French?
Super random but How has nobody released idiocracy on blu ray hopefully shout factory or somebody will get the rights and release a copy genuinely my favorite comedy movie ever
Probably because the US has literally turned into that movie
@@scotthajney4127 in what way?
Idiocracy was a 20th Century Fox film and is now owned by Disney, so the odds of it ever getting a disc release seem slim.

Why don't you talk about Vinegar Syndrome? You would get a lot of views, huge cult following.
