Thanks Michael. We didn't want to get charged the $70 at the Honda dealership for cabin air filter replacement. So your instructional video was very helpful and I'm looking forward to doing it myself.
Thanks Mike. 6 years later and you’re still helping others save money. Wonder how much in total you’ve helped everyone that has saw this video. HOPE ALL IS WELL FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Thanks Again friend. 👍🏽
Thank you for your video and wished i had seen it prior to doing the task earlier. I replaced the cabin and the original air filter in the engine bay which saved me about $200, if i can recall. Seems Honda dealer is now charging an arm and leg for not so difficult part replacement. Please continue to help folks like me needing to save money as i find myself jobless due to back surgery brought about from cancer. Thank you for being a blessing as i’m grateful for the countless blessings.
Acura dealership wanted $85 to replace this on my 2014 Accord. I told him no and immediately went to youtube (while waiting on them to finish my oil change) for DIY instructions and these couldn't have been better. Thank you! Everyone, save yourself the money, it literally takes 5 minutes!
Shame on them. After showing them this video they should have installed it for free and only charge you for the parts which is already a heavy mark up! LOL
Awesome video! You just save me $106! Literally my dealer quoted me $116 to replace the cabin filter. I bought one on Amazon and did it in five minutes thanks to you.
Thank you so much! The dealer offered to charge me $150 to change this and the air filter today, I politely declined due to money. I knew how to change the air filter but never heard of a cabin filter, so thank you again. FYI, I had about the same amount of miles on my car too.
Really easy to do by yourself. After watching this video once, it took less than 3 minutes to perform this filter change. Thanks for shooting this video, it is saving people money!
Thanks for the CLEAR and COMPLETE step-by-step instructions! I wasn't sure how to release the Glove Box arm on the right side. Just an excellent job that would help anyone do the job right!
Thank you so much for this video. I went to the Honda Dealership today for a oil change on my 2014 Honda Accord. They wanted to charge me $120.00 to replace the air filter and cabinet filter. Fortunately they were out of the filters and wanted me to come back later. I ask the Service Writer just how hard is it change out the cabinet filter. He said it was not difficult just check it out on You Tube. I am so glad I did and thankful for the Service Writer for the tip. Michael thank you again for helping an old retiree.
Good catch! I'm a manual fan myself...teaching my daughter to drive a stick first before she even tries an auto. I'm not really entirely sure it's necessary these days but at least she can drive my car then.
Michael, $50 saved, great video! Very helpful. You totally rock. Last filter change 6 months ago by the dealer, they charged $75 and they put the darn thing in upside down.
thanks dude! I knew i shouldn't pay $109 for a filter replacement. I am ordering the filter from apw tonight and get it done as soon as it gets here. super easy instruction.
My wife has been paying the local Honda Dealer, ( I am scared to ask how much ), to change the cabin air filter. I showed her your Video and she said she would let me do it, and it coast her the price of the filter. She gave me a kiss. Thank You from both of us.
Wow ! Thank you so much. My Honda dealership wanted $103.60 to do this for me. I'll save the money and do this AND my air filter and save big bucks. Your awesome.
Thank you so much for this video. You rock...Man the dealer wants to charge me $75 for this one and the Engine Filter which only take 2 minutes to do. Really appreciate you making this video
Thanks so much from up here in Canada. Have a 2015 Sport 6 speed, and I’m due to replace this. Cannot believe the dealership prices I’m hearing for what looks like 2minutes work with no tools
just saw a "coupon" from the dealership for cabin air replacement for only $79.98, it only took you a min to replace that and since I don't make anywhere near $80 per min which is $4800 per hour, I'll be doing those replacements from now on, thanks for the vid
Wow. I went straight home to do this. So easy. What I did since I didn't have a replacement filter, was just clean out the one in the car with the house water hose and set it to the side to dry out. It was pretty dirty. And now, without buying a new filter, it works like a charm. I guess I'll leave this same filter on until next time, or maybe I'll just clean it next time as well. Not sure. Total cost was about 2 cents of water. 😉
Very nice and clear video on what to do on the cabin filter for the 9th generation Accord. Most Honda Accords since the 7th generation have the micro cabin filter with similar placement behind the glove box. I happen to own both the 7th and 9th gen. Accords and they are very much the same. I'd replace the cabin filter with either the Fram cabin filter or the OEM filter. I prefer the Fram over OEM because it has activated charcoal to filter out the smell from the outside air, similar to your house HVAC filter. Don't mess with the cheap filters, they are usually too small or too narrow and there are too much gaps that let dusts into the cabin.
Honda was going to charge me $160 for both cabin and air filters. I bought the air filter for $14 and took me 1 min to do myself. Going to do the cabin filter this week. Fckin Honda haha
Thanks loads Mike! I just checked on Amazon and I can get a top quality Cabin Air Filter including Activated Carbon and soda for my 2014 Honda Accord for $8.87! I also checked to see what the charge was for the cabin air filter change they just did a few months ago and it was..... $38.48 for labor and $26.32 for the filter and then another charge of $5.83 for something called a 7073 Frigi - Fresh Unscented. This shouldn't take me more than ten minutes to replace the filter for the next time.
Thank you for your time! Is as easy as you stated and saved me some cash! Keep up the good work and hope to see more videos for 2013 Honda Accord since I own one...lol...
Thanku for this. Honda tried to charge me 90 dollars for this. I went to autozone paid 17 dollars for the filter and did it myself. It took me 5 minutes.
Man thank you so much! The dealer was gonna charge like $110 for the cabin and air filter. I bought each from a Honda parts website (hondapartshq.com) for less than half that and did both 5 minutes. What they charge for labor is INSANE!
Thank you for this. After I replace my filters, HOW DO I reset the alert on my dashboard after replacing my air and cabin filters? So I don't keep getting the flashing B1 or B2 light? Will it do it automatically once I've replaced them? Or is there something else I need to do?
The 2013 Honda Accord is offered in a gasoline model. The engine oil will require service when the Maintenance Minder light comes on. Follow these steps to reset this light:Press the Start/Stop button once (do not start the engine).Press the (up/down) button on the steering wheel to select Vehicle Settings, the press the SEL/RESET button.Press the (up/down) button until Maintenance Reset appears on the display (the oil life reset mode is displayed on the multi information display).Select Reset by pressing the (up/down) button, then press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil life display. The maintenance item codes will disappear and the engine oil life will reset to 100.Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
NICE! you are right, the 1999 accord we have required part of the dash coming out, NOT COOL AT ALL. This 9th gen is a lot better for routine maintenance.
Thanks Michael. We didn't want to get charged the $70 at the Honda dealership for cabin air filter replacement. So your instructional video was very helpful and I'm looking forward to doing it myself.

You saved me so much money. I find it strange that I cannot find a repair manual for the 2013 Accord. I really appreciate it so much!!!!

Right on
Shame on them. After showing them this video they should have installed it for free and only charge you for the parts which is already a heavy mark up! LOL
Lol you lazy ass:)))
You should have showed it to a 5 year old. He would've done it for an ice cream, $3.00. 😁 that's how easy this is. 😉
Unfortunately you still over paid.
Awesome video! You just save me $106! Literally my dealer quoted me $116 to replace the cabin filter. I bought one on Amazon and did it in five minutes thanks to you.
Best video on you tube. Other videos don't talk to you, don't show right side clip, or don't show air flow direction. Thank you. Good job.
Just came from Honda dealership You just saved us 100 bucks thank you
Thank you so much! The dealer offered to charge me $150 to change this and the air filter today, I politely declined due to money. I knew how to change the air filter but never heard of a cabin filter, so thank you again. FYI, I had about the same amount of miles on my car too.
tpettyrn You are welcome. I'm glad the dealership didn't get to rip you off, that price was ludicrous.

$18 filter, 2 minute installation. Thank you!
Thanks for this. I will not waste my money next time on labor, hate that. We can all do this labor ourselves, instead of Honda stealing our money.
I recomened checking your filter every month or 2 since you could get al the big pieces out and have more air and a little bit cleaner
Thanks, was able to change it because of your video!
