You could compare it to a 220 belt with the blade held flat against the platen (vertically), since it'll keep its flatness, plus it'll remove much less material over the large surface area. Works great for cleaning up flats before hand sanding, or possibly even for finishing using something like Norax belts etc. Btw, I actually got my 12" wheel a while back from you guys and just wanted to say your customer service was excellent. Thanks for making them available at very reasonable prices too. 👍👍

We should've done that too! Thanks for the suggestion.
If you liked those old contact wheels, you'd really like the new ones we're making ourselves. They'll be in stock sometime this week. A little bit more than the import ones we used to sell but in a different league as far as quality goes.

I would be interested in knowing what that magnet is you're using to hold your blade?
By the way your wheels are excellent quality! Should have bought yours the first time around and save myself the trouble.

What size of Rubber Contact Wheel are you using in this video? What advantages or disadvantages do the different sizes you offer make? You now offer up to a 14" diameter wheel. For knifemaking, what is a reasonable size, largest or somewhere in between?

I was curious about a situation where I saw a guy use a polishing compound on his belt and then a quartz stone? He had said he was getting a 200 grit on one side of the belt and 600 whree he used the polsihing compound? But what is the stone for?

Those chatter bumps are because he held it against the wheel and not the platen. The wheel is not actually flat, it grinds in one tiny area, like one mm at a time, you're gouging your metal by not holding it flat on the platen.

Up against the platen every time.....no roller ever. Conditioning belts are the way to go for quick finishes

That demo was just about as stupid and deceptive. Putting a blade against a 2 inch will absolutely create chatter, the surface conditioning belt is spongy, so it will be smooth, bad demo, or good if you are hocking scotch brite belts.
