Part of the fun of going through the NES library is to see the creativity the developers used trying to fit their silliest and most ambitious ideas into a NES cartridge, even when at times that creativity came at the cost of quality. It's like wild west of video games where you never know what you'll find if you dare to look beyond the certified classics.
I still have my Nintendo and a lot of the games. I found a great used video game store where I used to live. I only got one game that didn’t work and they gave me a refund. I have carefully packed it over the years. Some of the games that I played a lot don’t work as well. I wish there were more available on the switch. I got a switch lite from a friend. I have everything retro I can on there and am very thankful for the technology. But I miss the game genie. I like to win! I wonder if they’ll ever have that for the switch. It would be amazing. These games look fun. American gladiators and techno wrestling were the only ones I owned. I did try back to the future once. I loved who framed roger rabbit and would buy it if I could. I rented it but never finished it. I loved little ninja brothers it has very similar graphics to the kung fu game. I played princess tomato and uninvited on an emulator. I love those point and click games. I have dejavu and shadow gate and maniac mansion. I think those are my favorites. Hard to learn but don’t need the game genie! I loved maniac mansion most of all bc there are multiple endings and I figured them all out before there were walkthroughs. I used to have all of the original mega mans but I sold one and four bc I couldn’t beat them. Two was my favorite.
Thanks for the patreon Steamkey Gary, it's nice little twin-stick rogue-lite NUCLEAR THRONE. Always heard good things about this one, cheers! So many NES games to check out here! I even want to play some of the bad ones... 😅
Kabuki Quantum Fighter was a favorite of mine. I just ordered it in the mail and I always believed that it was one of the more obscure games but wow! All of these games have me going back into my early childhood memories! Rambo had me in tears. That game made me think of a friend I had when I was 9. He showed me the game and got me army men for my birthday😊
Good vid. I only played Power Blade 2 and thought it was good. But most of the games I know of from AVGN eps. Good to see lesser known games getting some love.
Days Of Thunder is the second NES game I ever bought when I got into older games as a kid around 2010- tried playing it about three times, couldn't ever win a single race and wasn't very interested beyond the impressive graphics (and voice if I recall correctly). I sold it after a couple years. Lol I almost feel bad because right now my collection has grown to 39 games and if I hadn't sold Days Of Thunder I'd have an even 40. I have a few of the others on this list!
I remember half of these from various AVGN episodes. Some are also classics like Dragon's Lair, Dick Tracy or Cavemen Games. Maybe not completely mainstream but definetly well known amongst collectors and older generation players.
M.U.S.C.L.E = funniest wresling game on NES. Chibi wreslers, unique skills at each character, unique playstyle than another wresler games on NES. Its better if this game can be expand, more stages, more wreslers, more moves...
Ok, I'm trying to find 2 games I can't remember fhe name, maybe if I give details people can help. 1 - It's lile megaman but with a witch, even the rush power up is present but as a flying broom, music is pretty banger as well. 2 - You play as a girl that rides a space bike between stages and when entering stages it gpes to a standard platformer. There were some different weapons to collect, music is pretty annoying actually.
@@monchet1985 Thanks, I found it. I think I couldn't remember because it seems it had another name as well. Kryon conquest I just checked. The second I found is named Layla.
No thanks. James hates doing it and it shows. Dude just reads scripts other people wrote from a teleprompter. Plus Mike Matei was the one who did a majority of the work.

Some of these games are forgotten for a reason.
This is really a good source for obscure games, I still have to explore a lot on the NES library.
A few of these I would like to continue to forget
LOL - tell us which ones, please!
I’m getting back to NES games just like in the mid 80’s. Just realised there’s still so many games I haven’t played yet. Great video.
Another great video mate! Rollergames, sweet! I picked up a copy of that on a whim a few months ago, and it rocks. '80s to the core!
I Love Rescue : Embassy Mission. It's one of my first NES games.

Black Manta is still awsome! Awsome cover, gameplay. Very good platform action game on the ness
9/10 I would give the game
If you're an AVGN watcher, there's a lot of these that aren't forgotten.

Wrath of black Manta I remember it fondly I was such a sucker for obscure games growing up.
Treasure Master😉👍
I have been looking for this game for a long time, since 1995.🤝Thank you!
Had a memory of Kung Fu heroes but couldn't remember what it was called. Thanks. Had forgotten all about the rocketeer
Didn't know a few. Some had superior graphics for that time. The troll game caught my attention.

Banana Prince is obscure too.
Luna Pool, Jaws and Anticipation are the best games I've played, in my opinion.
If you played/loved/hated any of these, please post a comment with your memories!
Your vids must be loved

AVGN will have field day with these titles 😂😂😂
Destination EarthStar definitely a sleeper🤘
ren and stimpy? happy happy joy joy
Thank you for reminding me some games😮
Thanks Andy M

Power Blade 2 is excellent. Rockin Cats, Rocket Man, Rollergames and Wacky Races are okay.
Rollergames for me was better than double dragon.
@@raulshiro6239 While I like Double Dragon a lot more, I see where you are coming from. Rollergames has less repetition and is more unique.
Nightshade is missing 😢
8:50:Every schoolboy from the 90s in the CIS knew this game under the name Disney.
P.S:Today I found out it was a hack, so thanks)
That's awesome! This channel is hoping to do a video on "gaming in eastern europe", and it's stuff like this that's good to know. Thanks!
@@GaryRetroGamer You are welcome!
Muito legal, alguns até conhecia.

Tempo bom, saudades Win 95
Most were lame, but I liked Roger rabbit. I had it & enjoyed it.
