They really should have mentioned that the guy in 10. also dived the highest score in diving history which still stands
Also the pressure. Needed a perfect dive and the highest score in history to win and nailed it.
Doesn't stand anymore.
I honestly thought that should have been a lot higher.
I wish I was alive to watch the Bradbury race. Sitting there thinking he’s gone for all money, then all the other guys fall over and he wins. I would’ve gone absolutely nuts if I’d been able to watch that live. Amazing
It was amazing! I've always felt for Alisa Camplin being second but it feels so Aussie having Bradbury as our first. "Doing a Bradbury" is one of my favourites.
I dont know if anyone from Australia was watching. Do amy Aussies watch the winter olympics? I was alive but didnt even know it was on as it was assumed he would lose.
It was awesome to see. Australia loves Bradbury, and he’ll always be special to our country.
We did go completely nuts.....it was one of the most glorious and 'oh so Australian' moments in Olympic history! Will never forget that night.
@@icmull we were watching but it would have been on in the middle of the night anyway
for a population of 25 million. Australia has done incredibly well to be consistently in the top 10 on the medal table along with countries with populations far larger. Come on Aussies do us proud!
Hungary, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Cuba have done better per capita in summer Olympics. Actually, considering how much money we give sport in this country I'd argue we under perform. So many of our athletes underperform and choke especially our swimmers. Ariarne Titmus' gold was the first woman since 2008 to win an individual gold. Horton and Chalmers in 2016 were the first men since 2004.
And look at how Great Britain dominates us now. Even in swimming they're equal.
And New Zealand has done way better. 46 golds compared to 150 for Australia despite only having 20% of our population. Australia should have 230 golds population adjusted.
We need to stop patting ourselves on the back and admit the failures.
Countrys like China, Korea, USA, Canada etc have breeding grounds for kids to just grow up and play table tennis or something 6 hours a day without realising they're being groomed into the next Olympic star for their country
That's only because of the swimming team, and primarily the female swimmers.
It is not about the population; it is about the percentage of people who actually swim. I am assuming you're an Aussie for sure, Obviously can Chinese will do the math's better. Out of 25 million Aussie, 23 million swims, they should be winning all the medals. For the Chinese Billions of people may be 1000 like swimming and they got great results and medals, even world record faster then the Aussie. Do your Math's again. lol
@@fitnessck1985 where did you pull that number of 23 million swimmers? from the abyss?
Sally Pearson worked so hard for years to be that great and her reaction to the gold was priceless..
Let's go Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺
🏀⚽️🎾
This one's for you aussie from Vietnam. Congratulations on win as host city of 35th olympic in Brisbane
I used to attend the primary school which Betty Cuthbert attended. She donated 2 of her medals to our school. It was very cool seeing them in the office! Rest In Peace.
was not ready for the belly flops at 0:54
Really shows how sports evolve
Mate Bradbury is an icon In Australia. Should have been #1
Keiran Perkins, 1500m freestyle, 1996. Godly swim
Cathy Freeman, the greatest.
PROUD TO BE AN AUSSIE 🇦🇺🇦🇺
You forgot Peter Norman getting silver in the 200 meters in 1968. Okay, he did not beat Tommie Smith, but he set an Australian record for the 200 meters that STILL STANDS 53 years later , PLUS he gave Tommie Smith and John Carlos the idea to make use of the one pair of gloves they had , for their iconic fist in the air protest on the awards stand (they only had one pair of gloves, so Peter Norman suggested they each wear one glove ).
Black Power Salute 🤜🤜
It's absurd Norman isn't 1 or 2 on this list.
Take your marks AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
Cathy Freeman 🖤💛❤
For me it should be:
1. Kieran Perkins winning the 1500m freestyle in Barcelona and Atlanta and becoming the first Australian to win back to back golds at this distance
2. Dawn Fraser winning 3 100m freestyle titles in a row at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics. The only Aussie to have won 3 individual golds in a row.
3. Steve Hooker becoming the first Australian to ever win a gold in the Pole Vault in a World record of 5.96m (at the time).
4. Emma McKeon becoming Australia’s greatest female swimmer with 11 Olympic medals 5 of them gold
5. Australia beating the USA in the men’s 4x100 freestyle relay in Sydney 2000.
Emma McKeon should enter in the list if this video needs to be updated with current results.
@@lexsoft3969 I agree.
Freeman will always been number 1. No bigger moment in Australian sport
Agree that Mathew Mitcham and Cathy Freeman are worthy of note but also need to include the Mens 4x100 m relay swim in Sydney and Kieren Perkins 1996 1500m swim. Jon Siebens 200m butterfly and Debbie Flintoff-King's 400m hurdles - both from the 1984 Olympics - are also noteworthy.
Congratulations to all participants 🙏
2032 brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
The Land down under! 👏
Love from India🇮🇳
Thought Anna Mears gold in London would have been on here.
That was a phenomenal effort, too many great moments to recount
Matthew Mittcham should be no 1. Because his win was so unexpected
Mighty Aussies
Aussie Aussie Aussie
new number one for me Jessica Fox gold cause she's from Western Sydney
YES AUSTRALIA!!! LETS KEEP ON DOING SPORTS THE ONLY WAY WE KNOW HOW TO (very very well, especially with a population of only 25million people)
But WHY was Kieran Perkins not here? I just think that was the most memorable gold medal of my life, after Cathy Freeman. I also wish they'd shown more of her, instead of that weirdly edited finish and the comment about the suit. That was.....interesting.
There's plenty not there that could be....Shane Gould, The Oarsome Foursome, Steve Hooker and of course, lots more swimming. I've forgotten heaps more too.
Very Beautiful👍👍
Let’s go Australia !
4x100 best of all time!!!!!
Let's gooo Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Aussie Aussie Aussie, 🇦🇺 🇦🇺 🇦🇺!
Brisbane 2032
Wow I would have thought Jodie Henry winning gold in the 100m Free at Athens would have got a mention.
Pete Norman, 1968. It's ridiculous that it is not 1 or 2 on this list. It's is one of the all time most significant Olympic moments and Peter Norman's dignity in his role in that moment should be celebrated.
how has this not got 1 mill likes
Hope this time bharat does well....we had a very sad 2016....but this time hope for best 🥞
@@Kimjong-k4f my wish....I think its democracy and we all are free to write our suggestions ..hope you understand brother 🙂

Imagine if NZ had voted to remain as part of NSW. We woulf be absolutely unstoppable.
no thanks
They would have slowed us down, been an anchor.
McKeown, Dean Boxall!!?
Now 20 world cup ,
🙏 🙏 🙏
For me :
1. Mathew Mitcham : diving 10m platform at 2008
2. Sally Pearson : 100m hurdle London 2012
3. Cathy Freeman : 400m Sydney 2000
4. Duncan Armstrong : 200m freestyle at Seoul 1988
5. Jon Sieben : 200m butterfly at Los Angeles 1984
in that order.
LET’S GO AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE…..
Oioioi

🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Let gooo 2032
Spelling mistake!
bradbury was robbed of #1
Well if Cathy had fallen over he would be No 1!
Stephen Bradbury should be number 1, stop the aboriginal pandering
Classic Tigers fan. Classless racist bogan.
I would of had freeman at 3 and Bradbury at 2 i still think that relay to beat the USA who had never lost that event ever was our best moment
Erba Elliot Roma 1960
Australia always there. Important part of the Olympic Movement. Only 1 of 3-4 nations to compete at every Summer Games. And Brisbane 2032.🇦🇺
Aussie Aussie Aussie
🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Matthew Mitcham's dive doesn't get the credit it deserves. It should be one of the great moments in Olympic history, not just Australian.
"You want the gold? No problem just nail the highest scoring dive in Olympic history."
"Hold my beer."
Obvious from the comments 10 is not enough!
wb cate campbell.... and the 4x100 free swim relayy
Raygun
let's go Aussies lets see us win the medals this year!!!!
🦘🇦🇺
4 gold medals today! 🇦🇺🇦🇺
10 de 10 para Sally Pearson 👏😆
Bring on 2032 Brisbane
Dawn Fraser should be included as one of the greats, as she won 100m freestyle three times in a row : 1956, 1960, 1964.
She is included in the video
@@hermixtonen I only read from the description where I didn't find her name, and didn't watch all.
As long as there are Matthew Mitcham and Sally Pearson in the description, I felt I didn't need to watch.
After you telling me, I find she is at number 7. Thanks
She is one the greats.
And no Kieran Perkins the first Australian to ever win the 1500m Freestyle at two consecutive Olympics that is blasphemy that it wasn’t included! It was more memorable than some of these performances in my opinion I am sorry.
And the first to break the Minute time for the 100
After some years australia will be the beacon of sports in the world.
I hope so ! Well where I’m at in Sydney.. fitness is the culture😂
Number 1 should be sally perason . 100 hurdle winner. beating all those black girls in athletics/sprinting is a phenomenal achievement.
Well done Australia 🇦🇺 🇬🇧
Jakara Anthony’s gold in Beijing 2022 is another Aussie achievement
So proud to be Aussie 🇦🇺
Bradburry😂
One of the most important parts of skating is to stay on your feet. He was the only one who did. Tactics, my friend, tactics.
Not to mention the races he had to win to get there in the finals in the first place
congrats australia our country now has more power
Or as us Aussie love to chant isn’t the crowds:

About Jon Sieben
He is in my top 5 list, after Duncan Armstrong.
Best Australian moments: When we do not cheat.
Everyone booing me, I have seen our cheating in many sports, there are rules.
By the way, Chinese owned us that day and your racism ruins sport.
Who caresss
