Awesome review! You are cranking out quality reviews lately! I have noticed a step up in production and frequency. Great work Guy , big fan of your work
Great looking piece, but I prefer the Quartz equivalent because it is substantially thinner and also slightly smaller in diameter. I do wish the 9F version had a clasp similar to this one (or even better with on the fly adjustment as you mention) thougj
I agree about the micro-adjustment clasp. Having to use a tool negates the whole purpose, which is to be able to adjust on the fly throughout the day. Additionally, I really hate the redundant 24-hr indicators. Many watches have it and it's both pointless and aesthetically noisy. Putting the markers on the internal bezel is smart and opens up the opportunity to employ other external bezel types. As it stands, I think this watch is quite a bit overvalued compared to other offerings on the market.
Not the whole purpose, they’re used to get a better fit on the bracelet as the distance between the micro adjustment holes is smaller than size of each link.
Great video 👍 I get fooled by your “still shots” every time 😊 It always takes me a while to find the second hand and realize that it’s an actual moving shot and not a photograph! Impressive how still you can hold your hands 👏
Grand Seiko would be even more awesome with toolless size adjustment. All watches over 2K need to have it. I'm glad to be picking up my Polar Exp II this weekend from the AD. As nice as this GS is, it wouldn't scratch the two year itch I've had for the Polar.
The Explorer II is a really ugly Rolex, it vies with the Yachtmaster II for the worst looking watch Rolex have made. I’d rather own the GS, especially the spring drive version with the ceramic bezel.
Nice review! I tried on the spring drive ceramic version of this and was blown away. I typically wear 34-36mm watches and never considered GS sports watches before but this was by far the best watch I tried on in its price range. I just don’t like having watches with functions that I don’t have a need for (like GMT) so if they bring out a spring drive ceramic bezel dive watch, I’m sold.
6:40 the thickness is definitely a deal breaker. Not even the Tudor Chrono BB which is a chronograph is that tall. And if I'm gonna wear something that tall, it better be a chronograph lol.
@@JustBlueFish good to hear! Parts of the footage looked looped/reused, so I wondered if you had received someone else’s film and ‘padded’ it out a bit. There has been a bit of a spate of YT watch reviewers recently not actually handling the watch, but not making it clear in their ‘review’. Good to know that’s not the case. Best wishes
Seiko is always ruining an otherwise great watch design with 4 o'clock crowns. I know it's like their signature thing but it's so ugly. Well, just in my opinion obviously.

Thanks I really appreciate that.

I believe the 9F has the same shade of blue on the dial, same finishing too. 14.4mm thick is approaching chronograph dimensions
Ya like I said in the video. It’s hefty.
Exactly, really enjoy this, and love that when on rotation it's just running.

I agree $2k and above need it.

Good review
So because it has a fixed bezel it is only a 2 time zone watch ? But still is a travellers gmt?
Just picked one up my only complaint is the dial is a little boring
I'd love one but I can't justify the purchase to myself when I already have the 9F quartz version.
Imagine if the case thickness was 12.5 - 13.0 mm. This thing would be SUCH a winner. At 14.4 mm though, it's a no go for me.
At 40.5mm it’s a home run!!!!
Thanks for watching my friend.
Spectacular review !!!

My next watch for my 60 birthday....:)
Can you review the Cartier Santos medium?
I’d love to but I don’t know anyone who has one I can borrow.
Do you know when these will be released for sale?
I assume right now?
@@JustBlueFish the articles I found online said in November but no one has it posted on their websites for sale yet.
The one I shot the video of is in stock at exquisite timepieces. Give them a call.
The problem is, I'd buy this - but I'd still want an Explorer II. So I need to be patient.
Ya that’s fair.
Buy this and you will find the Explorer disappointing after this.
Better than Rolex Explorer 2
Nope, far too thick
@@Anonymouslyme1 the problem with Rolex and in particular the Explorer II is they are as common as mud on a wet day.
Nice. But is that a stamped clasp? You'd think they mill it at the price point. Seiko is still making vintage bracelets for their modern watches.
I think I would get a GMT from Tudor...... The seiko looks too much like an Explorer II..
I’m trying to get a Tudor GMT for a video. Hopefully soon!
@@JustBlueFish. Cool.
Have you actually had this watch in your own hands, or are you relying on footage from exquisite?
Thanks
Yeah I had it. I shot all the video in this review, why do you ask?

Too thick. Another swing and miss for Grand Seiko
No there best GMT sportswatchs are the spring drive SBGE253G, SBGE255G and SBGE257G with black, blue or green ceramic bezels.
Too thicc, lug to lug too long, and still no on the fly bracelet micro adjustment in 2021. Skip.
Shame on the lume
