I never skimp on food. I might not buy a new Tshirt and wear shoes that are falling apart. But my family will never know hunger.

They're making light if this. It certainly sounds silly on the surface but this sounds like a potentially abusive situation.
Some pregnant women make ridiculous demands with their cravings. But a woman asking for food she can keep down is not one of them. And if she's throwing up her food, you're wasting money and setting yourself up for a big hospital bill if she's not getting enough nutrition. Soup is the least she could ask for.
And what is a ridiculous demand? One cannot control her cravings
@ I heard of a woman who demanded her husband get a specific brand of ice cream in the middle of the night when all the nearby shops were closed that carried it and the closest place to get it was a very long drive away. That is a ridiculous demand. I don't fault someone for having a craving but it's not always possible to fulfill it right away or at all. My point was that this woman is asking for something that was not only reasonable but essential, not a craving.

For many of us, cravings ARE essential, not just a craving.

It's really easy to make your own soup. Stock, leftover rice or pasta, veggies, protien of your choice and sesoning.

The problem is a power struggle over the budget. One spouse should not be able to unilaterally say "no" to an expense. Either the husband is a control freak or Kaci has spent so much he has PTSD and is overreacting to soup. Either way, it's a out more than soup.

Being pregnant, I can attest that food aversion is real. The things I normal would eat, I can’t stand them now. I can barely eat rice. Soup is so easy and affordable to make. You literally just need veggies, water, and salt or a bullion cube. He’s just being ridiculous 🙄.

So confused. Soup some of the cheapest foods to make. Delicious, easy and healthy. You can even freeze it and have easy meals when you don’t want or have time to cook.
Also, making soup can be a ton of fun - using various things on hand. I once made a poultry soup and used a bit of leftover butternut squash as a thickener. It was amazing!
I feel so bad for this kid. His or her childhood is going to be miserable.
I never hisitated to jump in a dumpster for used contracting equipment to sell in my 30's. Today not so much.

I don’t do canned soup, but even making it is very cheap. Make sure you see if he has a life insurance policy on you girl, cause no way he that heartless.

There is nothing cheaper than soup. Honey, if you’re pregnant you HAVE TO be eating more than rice and beans for you and your baby to be healthy. If your husband is this extreme, this is abuse and you need to ask for help. You need to talk to someone ASAP.

Yes.. some people do take the "rice and beans beans and rice" seriously.
Make soup. Use the bones in water. Put rice and meat or rice in beans with vegetables in the soup. Make some ginger tea add sugar or honey and sip. Try sipping ginger ale and if vomiting continues and you are weak see your Doctor some women need IV therapy thru out pregnancy. Important Baby and mother both healthy or you husband will get to know huge bills.
