      I'm so sorry for all of your losses! I honestly just used the silica flower drying beads. I dried some in the microwave in extremely short increments but also dried some in a bowl filled with the beads. If you use the microwave just be sure to only do like 20 seconds at a time because some flowers with less moisture burn

      My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your dear grandmother. May she rest in peace. I just lost a close friend. I'm preserving white and red carnations from his casket spray. It has just been 6 days since the funeral so, they are still fresh. I currently have them in a vase. I'm going to use the silicon gel method of preservation. Then after a week, I'm going to incase them in resin.

    Wow! That silica gel process looks amazing! I am trying to learn how to do this to make a resin gift with funeral flowers for someone who lost their child at a young age from a very rare disease. I don't want to ruin her flowers so thank you so much for this super helpful video! 💕

    I love this tutorial. Thank you. I just lost my friend and will be preserving carnations from his casket spray. This tutorial helps because, the carnations are red and I have a long stem white carnation. Your explanations on the deep vs. light color flowers is really helpful.

    This was a great video!!! The only way I have ever preserved flowers, were by hanging them upside down, or freezing them. I wanted to preserve them with a more natural look, but wasn't sure what to use, or how to go about it. The other videos I came across were draggy, and all over the place. One person speaking about not having their nails done for the video, another wants to talk about their garden. If I wanted to hear about that, I would have searched it. (Ain't nobody got time for that) By the time they get to the point, or what I need to see and know, (which they didn't) I'd have to buy all new flowers, because the ones I were using, would be dead😂 Your video's audio and visual content was very knowledgeable, and exactly what I was looking for, Thank you! 🙃

    • @-_-ok9550

      use blue silica gel. if the moisture is too much, even the blue ones wont help u. another method is to heat the flowers in a dehydrator in low heat while putting thim in silica crystals.. but the petals will get wrinkly.

      @@someonewithvision3138 if you really want to preserve flowers use paraffin clear wax. it lasts forever and color doesn't change. u can use herbarium oil or alcohol too but the color will change. people use glycerin or glycol instead of alcohol but its not so effective. actually ur best bet is dehydrate the shit out of the flowers in pressure chamber exactly like how they produce milk powder😂😂😂

    The centres of my flowers always seem to go mouldy when I put it in resin, any tips how to stop this from happening. I tried keeping the flowers in silica for longer but then the petals get too dry and crumble

    • @sherivegasartist
      @sherivegasartist  4 года назад +4

      Sai Wintachai that is just because there is still moister in the flower. Only way to stop it is by making sure the flower is fully dry. You could open up the flower more so the silica can get inside

    Hi
    I tried drying my flowers in silica and they did perfectly. I wanted to cast them in resin so i needed more flowers which took time. So i kept them in a plastic container for a month. But when I opened it they all got mouldy and got fungus sort of a thing. What did i do wrong and why did that happen.

    • @Stephinella
      @Stephinella 3 года назад +2

      Hi Sahrish.
      What flowers did you use? Some take longer to dried out in silica. Perhaps the silica did not remove the water content of the flowers fully. Therefore, when you put them back in a closed container you provided a wet environment for mold and fungus to grow. To ensure perfect preservation of your flowers in silica leave your flowers in it for no less than one week. That was my experience. Hope it helps! :)

Flowers in general are remarkable psychological tools capable of immense emotional manipulation of yourself and others. The colors can can even make the anorexic hungry and difficult significant others completely amenable to subconscious suggestion. Thank you again for enabling the craft of mental triggering!
