May God bless you dr Sherrif wherever you are,you are helping many generations, keep up the good work sir
Thank you, I will. You can also help by sharing it with your colleagues.
you are doing a good job Dr. this is very helpful, hope you will upload the foundation videos soon..
Very nicely explained lecture on column design.
You're a great teacher.
I am enjoying the videos Dr. El-Gamal. Thank you so much. Looking forward to more videos.
You are very welcome
this was very helpful. thank you
Informative explanation it really helped me improving my knowledge.
Great explanations throughout. Thank you!
Extremely great content. Thanks
sir we will appreciate it if give video lectures on advance reinforced concrete design like the design of raft foundation, pile foundation, water retaining structures, retaining walls etc. Thank you very much sir
very good lecture and thank you so much.
Thanks and welcome
Very nice work Waiting for long columns design
thank you
Great job...
Let's say, we have 3 beams supported by a column. One beam along x axis and two beams along y axis. If the moments in two beams along the y axis are not the same, shall we get the difference of their moments and consider this as a moment about the x axis? That is to say, that we have a biaxial moment, one about the x axis (coming from the difference of the two beam moments) and the other about the y axis. Thanks in advance for the reply.
In real life situations you need to calculate moments from either moment distribution method or any other methods for calculating moments. So in the end you get one moment in X direction and one in Y direction. Because the moments from beams will be distributed in either upper column or lower column.
Thank you very much sir.
very informative sir, kindly do retaining walls and foundations rc design, will be grateful for sharing,
Thank you. Foundation will come soon.
@@MrElgamal77 thanks a lot Prof, waiting for that popup notification.

Thanks alot
Happy to help

Thank you 🙏
Nice work. How about unbraced columns?
Is there a shear check for columns regarding the stirrups? Is there such formula in BS?
this Program v Good we need raft Or Mat design Videos
fy=250N/mm2
Write "bs8110 part 3 pdf" on Google and you can download it.
Thanks for your tutoring. From frame analysis where a column has Mtop and Mbottom how do you arrive at a design moment to tbe used for the column design according to BS code?
This needs a separate video.
Nice
Hi Prof, please can you explain that you have a moment of 62.... KNm in this case but usually we consider eccentric Moment as well added to the actual moment by looking at these conditions: i) h/30, ii) clear height/400, iii) 20mm which of these is bigger we take that and time this with Axial load to make eccentric bending moment which later on added to Moment in your case 62.3KNm = Mu ( ultimate Moment). if you can comment on this. Thankx
Aww vey good lecture send me temlates thank you.
You're welcome.
Aww, if there is any complex design work I wiil discus with you if u r mind .
thank you Dr. but how to check the number of reinforcement is adequate for biaxial action of column according to BS 8110 and please add one more video about biaxial action of column
Salam Dr Sharif, could we have a video on structural design for strip foundation under a brick (9 inch) load bearing walls , I am your brother from Iraq, many thanks.
Aww,helow dr pls add sesmic load analysis and design.
Will try
Thanks ,I have two questions
1_can we use simple method ،،tables ,,to determine Le for any column?
2-can we distribute Reinforced for any side ,,b,or h,, ? Or just for side perpendicular to moment ?
Why you choose chart 29 instead of others
Good sir
You are welcome
Writing today and just realized that there is no videos for long (slender) columns😭😭
🙂 so accurate 😁
You're welcome
@@MrElgamal77 Sir , do you still use all these for long columns
Like you haven't specified what to do if the column is long
Please correct me
Thanks, Dr. for this detailed explanation. However, Sir. In my country, most reinforcement bars are not produced to the expected BS code standard specification of 460N/mm2. Therefore, most Engineers are forced to design to 410N/mm2. My question now is, how do we use the BS code charts to design such biaxial columns using such 410N/mm2 instead of the 460N/mm2 required by the
BS code charts? Thank you so much, Sir.
I already answered you. In this case, you may use the 460 curves but you need to increase the area of steel reinforcement by about 12% due to the difference between 410 and 460. This is only an approximate solution not an exact one.
Thanks, Sir. May God continue to strengthen you.
Sir, could you explain How to get Mx 75kn and My 80 kn
Is this design similar to eurocode specifications?
Correction: columns along gride 2B and 3B are concentric. The rest of the arrangement is fine.
That is right. They were already designed in (Video-Part 2) under concentric loading. Please check Columns (Part 2).
How we can design circular columns can i make an equivalent rectangular area and design??
If under axial load only, yes. If you have moment, a special interaction charts can be used for circular columns in this case.
@@MrElgamal77 ok how can i choose the interaction diagram and when i wont to get Mx` the govern moment it will be the bigger because i divided the moment by diameter of circle or what can i do if you can explain it doctor please..
Thanks a lot 😊

we need avedio about Eccentric load column design
Thank you for your interest. Eccentric load is similar to concentric load + moment. It will be similar to columns with uniaxial moment.
how about transferring load from roof trusses to column? tnx
Do you mean steel trusses? This is a concrete video.
do you have video of that..?
Unfortunately, I do not have.
Dear sir can you work out how to find uniaxial moment practical problem
I will do my best.
ممكن تصميم shear wall
