Why Scalloped Potatoes Are the Worst Choice for Buffets

Thanks for explaining what Americans call scalloped potatoes, I think it's a "Potato Gratin" or at a push Dauphinoise. In the north of England a Potato Scallop would be a battered deep fried sliced of potato found in a Chip Shop.
