It definitely makes jobs like this so much easier. Machining those parts, whilst fun, would have taken too long! I wish I had the time to do more machining.

For while I was involved in the manufacture - packaging of industrial cooling fans, in order to provide feedback and hence greater control they came up with the idea of sticking a sensor on the end of two wires into the fan, the newer models had this incorporated. Your solution reminded me of this!! All the best!!
A small mod .. ? How about making the extension on the pin a "D" section. 3D printer can make D shaped holes, I guess. Orientation can be adjusted with the locking grub screw.
