    i have the tee shirt on this one with a variation of it when i did my 3 bikes i wanted to keep my original equipment
    hope it inspires others to have a go

      It definitely makes jobs like this so much easier. Machining those parts, whilst fun, would have taken too long! I wish I had the time to do more machining.

    Mornin' Olly, Very innotative solution, well done!!
    For while I was involved in the manufacture - packaging of industrial cooling fans, in order to provide feedback and hence greater control they came up with the idea of sticking a sensor on the end of two wires into the fan, the newer models had this incorporated. Your solution reminded me of this!!

    A small mod .. ?
    How about making the extension on the pin a "D" section.
    3D printer can make D shaped holes, I guess.
    Orientation can be adjusted with the locking grub screw.

      Hi Steve. Good point, if I have issues with the magnet arm position moving, then I'll definitely try that. Thanks for the idea.
