I realized something today. How would the veterans feel about being called
    “World Special Conflict 2 Veterans”
How would it affect them? Their status? Their image? Their benefits???
I would want my combat pay.
    Sorry not linkin park related

"Those who make peaceful protest impossible, make violent protest inevitable." It's only a matter of time Ksenia. Things will get better at some point. Everyone who lives through such turbulent times will one day have to look back at their own conduct, how they behaved and did they contribute to change for the collective good, or were they part of the problem. You are one of those who will be able to hold your head high and know that you didn't take the easy route like so many others did. You could have just stopped thinking all together, put a 'Z' symbol in your window and ignored the cruelty and injustice in your country, and let ignorance be your comfort. Instead you've tried to make a difference within the constraints of what you've been able to do without putting yourself in direct danger, which is a lot more than so many others of your countrymen have done. Well done. If you need help, or something in particular, let us know - you might just find that you friends from around the world that you didn't know you had. From Steve in England, UK.

Ksenia, we are in this nightmare together. The Linkin Park lyrics make total sense with regards to the current situation. I feel so sorry for you and Russians like you. I have felt sad, depressed, frustrated and angry, too. It is painful to watch Ukrainians suffer. Also, most of us here in Europe had high hopes that Russia would transform into a peaceful, open and friendly country that would be part of our family. I had plans to learn Russian, and take the train to St. Petersburg, Moscow and elsewhere, go hiking on the beautiful Ural mountains. Now the trains don't run and all connections have been cut. I watch in horror clips from Russian state television programs that spew hatred on the Europeans. We feel shattered here, too, but I totally understand that the situation is impossible for you, you cannot express yourself and cannot breath. I feel your pain and cry with you. All I can do is watch these videos where Russians speak, and leave a comment hoping that those Russians who understand what is going on will have some comfort and support in my words, and those who are under the illusion that the evil West intends to destroy Russia will perhaps start to doubt this false conviction. Peace and ❤from Finland

    • @zanizone3617
      @zanizone3617 Год назад +6

Yes. The really sad thing is that most westerners really rooted for Russians when the soviet union fell. The same sympathy we have now for Ukrainians, Georgians, Moldovans and all former communist/soviet countries, was also there for Russia and Russians. There was no reason why things HAD to go this way. Everything could easily have been different.

    • @minime7375
      @minime7375 Год назад

@@zanizone3617 I think that this mentality is a bit patronising. Those countries are not doing well, with all your sympathy (maybe Georgia is but I doubt). Moldova and Ukraine are the two poorest countries in Europe, both extremely corrupt as well and very far from democracies, in spite of what the media says.
As for what OP says, that Russian tv spews hatred towards Europeans, um, what do we do? Our media calls them r@pista, orcs, savages. For real, people celebrate when they die. The best, most compassionate thing to do is remind people that Russia is also Dostoievsky, Gogol, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky…
And absolutely nobody in Europe seems interested in mediating a peace agreement (except Turkey). We are all to blame for supporting an ongoing war. Yes, it’s unjust but this hypocrisy annoys me, we “feel sorry” for Ukrainians but we give them weapons so the conflict continues and more of them flee the country or die.

I can truly say Im alive today because of those 2 bands. So I totally get what u mean. For me it was when the songs first came out but it goes to show they really are timeless. Both of "Hybrid theory" and "Meteora" are excellent albums from beginning to the end. It is no wonder that you connected these songs with the conflict because Chester had strong inner conflict which, unfortunately, he couldn't handle for long enough.

Really enjoyed your video opening up about your feelings on the current situation (whilst taking care to be safe in what you actually say!). I love the song 'in the end' I have been listening to more rock music this year not just because of Russia-Ukraine but dealing with an intense situation personally too. Listening to rock is very freeing especially something like Linken Park - has a grunge style of rock. I think you should try some other Grunge type music - full of angst, frustration, raw emotions (maybe not too much Nirvana they can be a bit dark!!). Later grunge like Foo Fighters is really great and not as dark. It's really great music to listen to when you are feeling constricted and need an outlet!
What you said about time ticking and how the situation could continue for years. You know Putin had been in power for decades so in a way nothing has changed everything is just more obvious now - the control, the suppression, the greed and need for power. So in a way this problem was always there. At least now the issues are more clear and hopefully awareness is growing. I just hope more Russian people can start to see it doesn't make sense and start to question things. I guess understanding English is a big help to seeing an outside perspective free from the state controlled propaganda. But the 20%people against the conflict?! - who says - do we believe them?! - who knows maybe it's more like 50%!! And maybe so much higher if people had access to accurate information. We literally can't believe a word Russian government say (both for us outside and especially inside Russia).
I listen sometimes to a young Russian man on RUclips who fled to Georgia - I see the same feeling of frustration, anger, and angst in his videos - it's sad he can't see his family and can't make any future plans with limited time on his visa. There are many others in this situation I guess. His channel is called "NFKRZ". There is also a young girl recently moved to Georgia and feeling lost. I think it would really help if you were all in contact as you all seem to feel a very similar way. You are definitely not alone!💖 Remember to ignore the government's lies and confusion they try to inflict and demoralise ignore it and don't let it get to you - you are not them. Anything you are confused about you can find out for yourself. Western media is pretty reliable (especially compared to Russian state media which I have seen!). The BBC is pretty fair even though given money by the government it operates separately with a mandate to provide fact based information and is externally regulated. Take care - you are a warrior in your own way - we have an old saying in the UK - "don't let the bast*rds grind you down!"💪🔥💖

I detest the Muscovy Empire regime, and abhor its abominable military, for the War Crime horrors it has committed against its hapless-victims: see "Follow Me" and "Bucha: Final Destination", but for a glimpse, that just skims the merciless brutality.
But watching someone like you, I cannot feel hate. I just feel sad for you, in a place where you "cannot breathe", where you cannot express thoughts freely, being boxed-in so rigidly, as you described.
But your alive, have warm-shelter, and food-enough, I gather. Many are dead in Ukraine, homeless and refugees, in and out of nation the same.

Linkin Park music and lyrics create a release of all pain, for you. You are expressive, and I appreciate your sharing, a lot.
Now I need to listen to the 🎶!. Great video! There should not be lost lives. Maybe the future will bring with it Ksenia 'vehicles' embracing change 🤗

I like Linkin Park, too. I fell for the melodies and the hard rock, must be more than 15 years ago. Didn't pay much attention to the lyrics though.
I'm happy for you that the lyrics helped you through the difficult times.
My strong belief is that your army will be kicked out soon hopefully this year if I may say so.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Many hugs from me to you.

Billy Strings has been my musical crutch for the past year, it helps me distract my mind. A year ago I didn't understand how oppressive a government could be, now I worry that you will provoke the demons.

You’re a smart and discerning woman with her eyes open. How difficult it is to see all of this happening. I will be praying for you.
The Bible says “watch over your heart (and mind) with all diligence. For from it flow the springs of life.” When you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, please take a break from the news for a few days. Your mind and heart has its limits and when you reached your limit, you must give it a rest. It’s a balancing act to stay informed and also protect your heart and mind. The Bible also says “whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” ❤

English lesson time: There is an American idiom, and it's a bit vulgar: "Blowing sunshine up your ass."
It means that you are being lied to, and the lie is very clear and obvious - the speaker is not even trying to make the lie believable.
Use in a sentence: "I hate all the propaganda; I'm tired of having sunshine blown up my ass."
The things you describe are the reason that my former in-laws left the Soviet Union and came to the United States.
Ksenia, you have my deepest sympathies. I wish you fast progress in your move to Bulgaria.

I loved Linkin Park. One of many sad things about them was that back then people thought their lyrics of pain and anguish was phoney, and that people didn't realize how true it all was until after it was too late.
Lyrics I can also guess might be relevant is "I want to run away. Never say goodbye. I want to know the truth instead of wondering why. I want to know the answers. No more lies."
So much of their songs are about feeling trapped, confused, and silenced.

Thinking of all the Russian soldiers injured or dead and the Ukranians a lot lately.
    A terrible tragedy.
In the shops I see Ukranians that look happy but it must be so hard to be away from home.
Many are buying cars and working, others are just living in hotels. The newest arrivals are sometimes sleeping rough because there's no houses left.
The government were too slow to solve the shortage before the war so now it is a crisis.
It is important not to think about it too much but for both Russia and Ukraine this is a disaster.
With NATO weapons the Russian army might take huge loses quickly. Behind the front there totally exposed.
There's nothing I can do but watch and wait. I'd hoped economic collapse might have prevented the need for the next phase. It is coming but every life wasted between now and then is for the families extremly sad.

Thank you for speaking about your impressions and feelings. It’s always painful to reveal to ourselves and others deep emotions. I know, however, it is important to do this in order to heal or in this moment hold onto emotional stability. Speaking about our feelings enables us to process the feelings in a very complicated and known way. Cognitive and behavioral scientists have created multiple research papers to this effect. Plus, you felt better. Thank you for your courage in doing this and also struggling through this difficult situation with dignity. I was very moved.❤

I long for the day that a free and liberal Russia arises and I can first hand meet my Russian brothers and sisters. We have so much in common. Peace!
