Good points. Stability is another key factor. Stability in highly mineralized soil and in EMI. We all want “deep” machines, but if the machine can’t separate or run stable, you can’t find deep targets.

And also the Sensitivity is the key to the detector being able to separate the Targets, cause if you have the on Full Sensitivity and what is bouncing off the ground and Target's and the detector can't discriminate it and let you know what it has found and I have watched ALOT of the X-Terra Pro videos of other people using it and everyone of them, will not go anything lower than 20 and I have the Simplex + and I have to be at 3 bars on it and Anything Higher than that it's sounds like the X-Terra Pro noises and people are claiming that it's a JUNK detector By having the jumpy VDI but it has more power than the ground can handle and that's why it's warbly And Jumpy VDI and everyone else is looking for the Update to Fix it but just lower the sensitivity and It will be a Greater Detector for the price and the only other thing I don't like that is it's needs to be Sold with Headphones and a game changer with them , if they do that but I hate for everyone to hear that I have a target and want to help me dig it out..... and then try to claim it and you really don't know if ???? They are telling you the truth or just something, but it needs Headphones 🎧 too be sold with them At the same Price.....

I struggle with separation sometimes and interesting to learn that recovery speed may play a factor in that. I do slow my swing down in trashy parks but will also now take down my sensitivity. Now if you can expain iron filters to me ill really be appreciative!😅

For me the toss up between recovery speed verse depth it would depend on what your looking for clad and surface stuff or old deep silver.

How deep was your deepest silver coin?

@@freedomdiggersmetaldetecti8964 That was a Rosie at about 5.5 with my Nox 800 witch is about max for that machine in my soil .

You must have really hot soil! Here in Michigan, I've nabbed a couple of Barber Dimes around 9" with my MX Sport.

I think It depends on location and what your looking for , a good location, halfway decent machine and a lot of luck works well for me . 🖖😬

Love the information you provide. I am looking to get into the hobby and would really appreciate any info as to which waterproof detectors you recommend as i plan to do beach detecting as well as field. After 28 years of walking thru metal detectors (retired prison officer) i want to have fun using a different kind of detector. Any advice on where to purchase would be greatly appreciated. I live about 3 miles from metro airport.

Best dealer to purchase from is Heath Jones at History seekers metal detectors. He has over 30 yrs experience & will recommend the best match for you. Look them up online & give him a call. My personal recommendation would be the Minelab equinox 700 or 900. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to get on Facebook & join my group "Michigan Freedom diggers metal detecting ".

I think Depth is King! You just gotta dig most of all that trash (pull tabs) out.
