I was getting bummed out after I enlisted into the infantry at 22. I ship out soon. Many people were talking down on me telling me, if I survive I would have nothing to do once I leave the army. This is definitely something I will look into.

Subbed. I was deployed all last year and earlier this year. I actually had a detail over near the Saudi Border, during that time. I’m back stateside and am finishing up the VAs vet-TEC IT program. I’m working on getting my ITIL, A+, S+ by the end of February. I also did a lot of movement of class viii medical supplies and such. I’m single now, and miss being overseas and feel if I don’t have a girl, or kids. An just hit 30, why not 🤷🏾♂️. I’m a reservist and waiting on my VA disability and have been told I’m good to go IRR, if I choose to contract. What companies would you recommend? I have someone working for Vectrus, which could get me in transportation. But if I’m getting my IT certs. I feel as though that’ll pay more and probably open more doors. Thanks for your time!
You are doing great That program is perfect for you Those certs will get you a good position for sure Vectrus, CACI are big boys to start with Then go from there Eastern Europe is booming with new contracts Do you have your VA benefits set up?
@@RetireandGo I appreciate you, taking time to respond sir! I'm currently rated at 20%, but got a VSO rep to help apply for tons of medical documents and awards, I had during deploymnet. My friend who had no documents at the time we were deployed, but in Iraq. Was just awarded 90%, so my VSO believes I'll be good because I have all my documents. CID letters, IDFs and engagements and so on. I'm just on the waiting phase right now. I finished all my exams in late November and finished my sleep study early December. So just waiting on the VA to finally make the decisions. I also was given paperwork on "Gulf war presumptive" issues from my two SWA deployments, I'm going to file afterwards. Eastern europe? thats funny. My ex was Romanaian. It's mainly, just the waiting game now. I'm hoping to have at least 2 or 3 certs done before mid Feburary or earlier. Then hopefully, I should have my higher disability as well.
I am a journeyman boilermaker welder and rigger I have a lot of welding certs and qualifications. I had a secret clearance in the navy as an operations specialist. What is the best route to take to work in the Middle East? What are some companies to reach out to? Thanks for your video and any info would be super helpful!
I think the best shot is Bahrain shipyard It’s not a bad place to be either Good pay, and things to do in town Bahrain has a ship repair facility I would focus that direction for Middle East work
don’t know if you will respond but what about people that will be enlisting now as combat arms cause we aren’t going to have any combat experience is combat experience a must
you will get outstanding training and most likely work in eastern europe or asia. lots of great training and experience. get the most out of it ok? also get IT certifications and move into radio and communication field work if you can ok?
Ive recently started looking into the idea of overseas contracting. You mentioned helicopter maintenance being a good one to get into, is there options for helicopter pilots?
Especially if you have experience in the military Eastern Europe is beefing up Lots of new contracts The military use contractors to keep up the helicopter and armor engines Maintain all sorts of vehicles
@@RetireandGo Okay, awesome thank you for the fast response. I do have military experience 5 years, 1 left on my contract as a 12B, It's national guard though. I'd assume that's looked at differently becuase we don't train as often but I also have multiple years of armed security experience. Im going collage on the side for an avation degree helicopters specifically. The goal is about the time my contract is up, I would have finished collage and would like to start contracting. So just getting my options on the table. Thank you and congratulations on retiring.
Hi I’m army military police and I’m 2 and a half years out of 5 through my contract I’ve done a lot of field cycles and law enforcement patrolling I’ve rotated to Korea and I’ll also have Poland under my belt when I get out and I have my S clearance for my job I wanna know what companies I should look at or apply for or know if it’ll translate to good work
You have great background experience for a variety of security contract work Google overseas Contracting security jobs Include secret clearance as well I just looked and I saw Kuwait and Saudi Arabia positions Also, you can use military benefits to study IT certifications if you want to try a new direction It sounds like you have great security training to put on the resume
Are there any good companies or sights or additional accredited training schools for first timers or any that have any kind of SFLTAP program I don’t have a lot of interest in computer style work I would probably stay within the security work

First, did you get your VA profile made? Bring all your medical records , if they are digital the VA will request them for you. Get all the VA work done on the injuries and strain on your ears you had. Second, you are in a good position for federal firefighting on military bases all over the world. Kuwait will be your civilian firefighting on the bases there with great pay and savings of federal taxes Have all your schools and equipment/ training certifications ready to scan and on your updated resume I think you have many options !
