That’s Cool. I love that they saved it. Would have been really cool as well had they been able to keep it more original But to be able to save anything from so long ago is an accomplishment of its own. Beautifully done. I love this kind of stuff. Old Outlaws are Thee Baddest Dudes ever , imo. Even better than Old Ol School OG Mafia Gangsters. They’re Bad arss too , but The Old Wild West and their Outlaws are The Best. Of The Worst 😁 😎
There is a good audiobook that I asked across - can't remember the name - but it was a history of the house and the rooms. It helps you readjust your thinking about what rooms came along in certain eras. Like the Kitchens being outside and how dangerous they were. Originally houses were just sleeping areas and shelters. All this seems elementary but it was an interesting listen for driving down the road.
When I was 10 my mother's mother visited us in Seattle and told my sister's and I about our cousin Butch. "Butch" George Parker's mother was my great-grandfathers sister. I know Butch and Sundance were still alive in the mid to late '60's. Butch's sister was interviewed by Johnny Carson and she stated that night they were still in touch via the US postal system. Rumored to have passed away in their early 80's in the Spokane,Was area.
Not that true. There is no way of telling if he pulled the trigger on some of the people that were killed during the gangs crimes. There is plenty of blood that was on his hands. At least 25 people were killed during his robberies or shootouts.
Been past that several times in my trucking adventures. If you go north a few miles, those train themed cabins are cool. The locals call it Big Rock Candy Mountain.
Very nice Chris but where's the outhouse? When preserving places like this the "historians" or whoever is responsible always seem to forget one of the most basic of necessities.
That clear jar looking thing is to catch condensation, they use those today on Air Compressors so water won't blow on your project your Painting or ruining your tools.
Hi newly subscribed here , if you ever get out to Pahrump in Nevada you will have to visit the Johnnie mine it is where Butch Cassidy was gravely injured in a mining accident . So it would be the actual way he passed rather than the old movie version.
i was bouta scream when you opened the door after seeing the green on that oven, then i saw the glass, be safe out there in thoes 1800s-1900 houses, i cant remember exactly when but during that time arsenic dyes in pain were common, specially in greens like thoes(like paris green) and you never know if any could flake off and cause health issues, even people who were just in the same room (if wallpaper) for a while would be affected and even faint back then
Took a roadtrip to old town tombstone awhile back. Enjoyed this video for the same reasons. I'm sure Butch and Sundance paid heavy dues one way or another for their lifestyle (that seems under dispute) but seeing/touching is always better than out of a book. The living history on them is always very cool !
Is Utah somewhat underrated as a tourist attraction? Don't hear about it too often. I'm a Norwegian living in Norway, but I'm planning a road trip in the US. Seems like Utah is one of the states that I will definitely need to visit. Both for its rugged and beautiful landscapes and because of historical sites like the one in the video above.
Utah is so beautiful! Of course I live here. You have several National Parks. Zions, Bryce, Canyonlands. The southern part of the State is warmer (hot) and much different from the northern part of them State which is The western side of the Rocky Mountains. Home to many ski resorts and the 2002 Winter Olympics. You also have about 60 State Parks which have camping, golfing, hiking, biking, fishing etc. As a retired Naturalist, please visit Utah! You will love it! Don't forget to stop in Midway and say hi! The State is generally sparsely populated except in the capitol city.
To many families he was a Robin Hood of the American west. My great grandmother grew up close to there. When Butch Cassidy and his bunch would stop at the ranches, they would buy fresh horses and always left plenty of silver dollars for their meals. The settlers loved him. You had Robin Hood in the UK. We had Butch Cassidy. History. I heard many stories my great grandmother would tell. Norwegians who came to Utah in the 1800's. It was a hard life in Southern Utah.
@@JaimieJo Robin Hood was a fictional character though. I do know what you mean, Some people still think Palbo Escobar was a good person because he did help some people despite the fact that he killed hundreds if not thousands.
That thing you were playing with at 4:06 is a manure spreader. I Filled a many of those as a kid. That thing will fling poop a 100 yards.
You find great things. Thanks. The Butch Cassidy home has been restored, it had no windows or doors and the roof sagged.
Thanks! They did a great job with making look legit
@@ajm1268 that's why it's called history....get over it

Another good find. The farm tool at 4:12 is an old manure spreader.
I saw the movie way back with Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Really good. Love all the old farm equipment too.
That was really cool. Home building and machine building have come a long way since back in the day. Thanks for the adventure!!!

I had to do a whole project on this man. He was very interesting.
If I'm not mistaken, butch Cassidy was famous for his extreme avoidance of violence.

Utah is so beautiful. Loved the movie Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for sharing! Always feel as if I’m there with you. Thank you
I just started watching your channel and I really like your content. I'm so glad someone is excited about history!

Schools don't teach this type of history anymore, Well you ever write a book about your travels and get it publish?
Chris again thanks for letting me walk with you on this journey!
You find such cool memorabillia. Thanks for this post interesting. NZ
Thanks, Chris!
This is So Fricken Cool. I love this kind of stuff.

Cool video. I liked the old stove in the kitchen "area". Thx
Another great find and upload Chris
Wow amazing Chris, it's so nice of you to go to places that are very interesting.

That’s a good question. There would be artifacts.

last time I saw that place it was all fallen down
Did I see grouse running around the house?
I thought they were Quail lol
I didn't know he was a real person 😂😂
Imma move in
Can I be your room mate? Haha!

Probably original except the roof, that would have been wood shakes, the barn looks like wood shake but hard to tell in the vid
To think that nowadays, if I family with children lived in a place like this , the parents could be charged with neglect!
he was not part of the kid curry gang there was kid curry gang they were all part of the name the press gave them " the wild bunch "
Nice Coverage.

Is it the original home or was it rebuilt?

If you ever swing through Maryland lemme know. The massive floods of 2016 -2018 in Historic Ellicott City would make a great video
I ll look into that. Could be an interesting one

Circleville, Utah ?
Yes
Ok 😊I live in utah ...thought this looked familiar
it's a crime that house is there and trees are not.
I truly like your Videos but they are so short. I like the History, did you do something about the Native Americans as well?

Butch Cassidy showed up on my ancestry profile. He’s the cousin of my great grandpa.
I'm supposed to somehow be related to Jessie James but I don't really know how or if its even true.
I peed in his backyard.
Love all your videos great job. But can you do Karen Silkwood and Atlanta child murders thanks
👍
The least they could do is spell his alias name right, Casady. He was home schooled, taught by his ma.
Looks like a swell place to do some gorilla filmmaking.

Why do people in the US hero worship criminals?

Is there anything authentic there at all? Seems to me it’s just all props and printed out documents. Really crap
