We love this place and have been there multiple times it is an amazing piece of Arizona history. It was built by Parker Vanzans in 1929 the same person that started Sky Harbor airport around the same time and named it Sky Harbor and luckily the name suck. lots of early aviation hero's landed at this airport like Amelia Airhart and Charles Lindberg. it really needs to be restored and respected for the amazing piece of history it is!!!
I would make it an airport again and have a bus to take people to the canyon. Have small general aviation aircraft and make a small hotel for people to have a getaway, it would be fun.
A runway in the middle Of no where??? Please go there in person you will see. No houses, stores, gas stations nothing. Screams top secret. Please look it up on a map.
It was originally the base of operations for Scenic Airways Grand Canyon flight tours. It's out in the middle of nowhere because the Grand Canyon is there. It was never a top secret air base, and was in operation until the Grand Canyon Airport was built on the other side of the canyon.
Dude; with all due respect, you are just making sh*t up … “a chicken coop (at an airfield?)” “out house (inside),” “top secret stuff happened there?” “every body that’s anybody has been there.” “Underground water storage bunker” = a cistern. Why don’t you just voice over reading the Wikipedia article.

You guys look fun will check ya out!!
Peace
Where's the proof of all this top secret stuff?
There never were any top secret activities going on at that airport 🤷♂️
Well thats top secret if you had clearance we would let you know. 🤣🤣🤣
The antique campers would; be cool. The hangar is unreally good shape, just the outbuildings need to be replaced though.
If I could afford it I would build a drag strip and one big resort for any one and I would make sure people could afford it to play
I'd turn the smaller buildings into a house and take care of the property and preserve this part of Arizona history.
JUST TURNED INTO A PRIVATE AIRFIELD
There is nothing secret, it was a runway for this company until they banned flying into the Grand Canyon and it went obsolete.

You move your camera too fast and in too many circles
I could only watch about 2 min of your video because you like to spin around and around and around. Slow your jets.
