Daniel Calderon haha loads of respect for per but that solo totally sounded like something he would do from Scar Symmetry. Thorendals trademark wackiness cannot be replicated or improvised by anyone else imo

I've always described Fredrik's solos as "being thrown out of a spacecraft without a suit as an alien is upon you but you cannot get away fast enough because there's no gravity." There were two other opening bands, LILLAKE kicked things off (The new band formed by members formerly of Suicidal Tendencies, love their drummer Eric Moore, he's awesome) followed by Tesseract from the UK. music started at 6:30 with LILLAKE's short set, then Tesseract, then Meshuggah. Megadeth took stage just before 9:30 and went till Boston's 11pm Sunday 'curfew' on concerts. Doors were at 5:30 for this venue.
