Hi all, In this discussion page, I would like all of you to post me any questions on General driving, Circuit Courses, Test information, anythings that regards to your practical lessons? I will try and find out more for you and glad to solve your issues.
Hi Victor, I have passed my TP few days back and your videos were super helpful. Thank you so much and keep up the good work! The test routes are usually shorter but I would recommend learner drivers to go through all the test route videos, so they know what to expect during the TP.
Hi Xuanzong, the most important is relax and do not get affected by whatever the tester might be doing with his ipad during the test. Do not think of the mistakes you did. No student scored perfect point for the test. So long you do not make any immediate mistake, you will definitely stand a chance to pass. Good luck and all the best to you.
Hi bro, please be more cautious for the first year as probation period you have only 12 points. Of course that does not mean you do not drive at all. All the best to you. Well done.
Hi, at 6:32 of this video, should i keep to the most left lane during the test? Understand there will be a Uturn later but will the tester be expecting you to still keep to the most left lane then he tells you to Uturn? Thank you for your videos.
Hi for this test route one, the tester will inform you early to u turn thus no need to keep to left lane and traffic is quite heavy sometime for that road.
thank u so much for this! I did my LDCS n test route 8 but this is similar. I made so many mistakes in terms of safety checks so looking at this helps me to revise!!
for the taiseng area, right before you did the uturn, is it cause the 3rd lane is bus lane that's why you stayed at the centre? cuz the tester never say uturn until v end, but u stayed at the centre all the way.
Hello Victor, your videos are very helpful. Really appreciate the effort you put into these. I have a question regarding the last left turn at the junction towards Driving school. At that junction the light was red and person made the turn. Is that okay as there is no side lane for turning left? So if the road is clear, we can make left even when the signal is Red? Thanks
Hi Victor Sir, may I ask if I am in the circuit, example waiting to turn left into a s-course/crank course, or turning left to exit the lot after completing parallel/vertical parking/directional change, should I only check my left blind spot? Or do I check rear mirror first, followed by left side mirror, then lastly left blind spot?
Hi. Your videos are very useful. Thanks. I have 2 questions. If you do TP test during bus lane timings, what is the difference?? Is it you don't need to keep to extreme left lane??? Only before turning left we switch to left lane? And any tips to prevent mount kerb after parking @cdc circuit??
Hi question one, you need to avoid the bus lane during bus lane timing. You can only keep to the extreme left provided you are making a left turn when the bus lane (yellow solid line) is dotted. To prevent mounting the kerb, you need to know where is the position of your car before turning out from the parking lot. This is important so you are able to do the correction accordingly if needed.
Hi, can i check for 8:07 zebra crossing, if there is a pedestrian crossing from left to right. Are we allowed to move off after the pedestrian has crossed the divider of the road(with back facing us) or we have to wait till they reach the other side before proceeding? My instructor taught me for left turns at junction for pedestrian crossing, we can turn after pedestrians has has crossed 50% of the crossing(back facing us), so i was wondering if this applies to zebra crossing as well?
Hi, yes you can proceed when the pedestrian has reached the center divider with back facing. For zebra crossing, there are different type. it depends on the size of the zebra crossing. If it is a shorter zebra crossing, then better wait for the pedestrian to cross finish before proceeding.
@@CarRefresherCourseCentre in the case of 8:07, is it safe to proceed after pedestrians has crossed the center divider? And can i check if all zebra crossings have beacons as I have seen roads with only black and white stripes on ground with no beacons at the sides and unsure if it is a zebra crossing or a crossing where pedestrians have to give way to vehicles before proceeding
Hi, you can keep left lane if you wish to but the test route will be doing a U turn at the front junction. Moreover the traffic on the left seem congested. And I believe the tester will instruct you to do a U turn early.
Hi Victor, very often there are cars parked/stopping along the sides of the road outside the back gate of CDC. Instructors tell me to keep a safe distance from these parked cars when I drive pass them. One of them tells me to keep right as far as possible without crossing the double white line in the centre because crossing the double white line is an immediate failure. Another instructor tells me to signal right and move right, and he says that it is okay to cross the double white line momentarily in order to keep a safe distance from the parked vehicles. Can I check with you what is the right approach in this situation?
Firstly, you should try to keep a safe distance and keep your car within the lane and not cross over the double line as much as you can. If needed to cross over the double white line, you may have to do so.
@@CarRefresherCourseCentre Ahh okay so both of them are correct! Thanks for your explanation. Do you have any tips for gauging if there is a safe distance from the parked cars?
Hi, the video was very useful, I will be taking my TP soon, and I am little nervous, how will the test be inside circuit, can you tell how will it be tested inside the circuit because i tried searching in youtube and i am unable to find any video about the test inside circuit
Hi i would like to ask during the test day itself, what are some questions the tester will ask? for example turning on flash or wiper. Thank you in advance !
Hi, The tester will ask for your name and NRIC number before the test for verification. Turning on the wiper you will need to do it yourself during the test if it rains. In fact, the tester will not ask you any other questions except to tell you what courses to do in the circuit and which directions to turn to on the road. All the best to your upcoming test.
Hi, do we get penalised during TP if we do our Narrow Divider or Wide Divider U turns slowly, meaning I let the car roll and break a little instead of accelerating? Asking as I prefer doing the u turns slowly to be safer and have more control of the car. Thank you!
Hi, for U turning maintaining the speed is the most important factor to be able to do good and control of the steering wheel while straightening. Maintaining speed does not mean fast or slow. Speed that you are able to control. Also there is no what speed for the u turning. It all depend on what is the speed when u approach the junction. U can check on my u turn videos.
Hi Victor, is it a requirement to signal for MANDATORY left/right turn junctions as well? What I mean is a junction where you are only allowed to turn left or turn right.
For normal circumstance you are being asked to take the extreme right lane for all right turn from what I know.(This is a practice from the driving school) You can choose the left lane to make a right turn when you know that you have problem keeping to the right lane due to heavy traffic, instruction by tester or you are turning left shortly after the right turn.
Hi by the time you are at this road, the tester would have already inform you to make a U turn in front so no point keeping to the left lane then change lane to the right again.
That is because you release the clutch too fast. Try pressing the accelerator more first before releasing the clutch. At times students tend to get anxious to move off while traffic is clear and stall the engine.
And I know the car may rolled back while you are pressing the accelerator. You can try doing half clutch to prevent the car from rolling backward but will be quite tedious because you need to hold the clutch halfway. while you are waiting for traffic to clear.
Hi, entering turning pocket(right turns)/inching forward to pedestrians crossing lines(left turns) need to check mirror and blind spot? even though path is not clear
@@jacksonteo5787 Sorry I don't really get what you mean? You have to turn your head over your shoulder to check blind spot. Not using the side mirror to check blind spot.
@@CarRefresherCourseCentre What i mean is do i need to check the side mirror for any rear approaching vehicles/bicycles in addition to the blind spot check. I realize in the tp assessment checklist, there is a fault that says not checking mirrors when turning, so i am rather confused as to whether i need check to both side mirror and blind spot, similar to lane changing?
@@jacksonteo5787 I see. Actually you need to check the rear mirror before stopping the car. For the side mirror, will need to check for lane changing. For turning you will turn your head to check the blind spot. No need to check side mirror. Moreover this mistake isn't so serious and will not make you fail your test.
Hi, I would like to ask if there is a way where we can tell we are going to KPE before turning. I remember there are 2 turnings that can go KPE for test route. When turning to kpe, can we turn to second lane directly without using the kpe lane.
You can tell by the green signboard on the left. Yes you can provided the traffic is clear but i don't see the reason why you go straight to the second lane when there is no traffic. You can take the first lane first then quickly change to the second lane.
I wanted to go straight to the second lane so that I do not have to change lane again, as I always find it hard changing lane especially when the traffic is heavy. Thank you so much.
@@CarRefresherCourseCentre hi, I would like to ask when we are having circuit test I know we can tilt the mirrors for the parking but is it okay for us to tilt the side mirror for crank and S lane? Once we have completed the crank and S lane and stopped behind the stopped line, it is compulsory for us to tilt the side mirror up before moving off right? When we are on the road and saw a stop sign. I know it is compulsory to stop no matter what but do I have to stop at the stop line again if I have already stopped behind a car which was at the stopped line previously
