This is my sentiment also. I told myself I’d wait until my mid fifties so I’d still have my wits yet have lived my life, but I don’t think I can wait that long.

i only get the AFF course in 2015 and came to a total amount of 21 jumps (last one in 2017), unfortunately..

At that speed even if you had an unbreakable helmet on if you struck a rock the sudden shock of stopping would smash your brain inside your skull. It would literally explode out of your ears. It would cause your heart to explode as well to come to a complete stop at this speed.
with composites, made from graphene/boron alloy, you have lighter than water, stronger than steel, and harder than diamond superstructure and feathers. It would fold into a bundle of about three kilos, and spread up to three meters on each side, giving more lift than the average hang glider. Why doesn't anyone build such a wing suit?

Can I skydive with high blood pressure. It's not extremely high, probably the Highest it goes is like 145/85....it's like barely stage one hypertension....
i've got to do this before i die, and damn at 1:07 he looks like hes probably getting a 2 or 3 to 1 glide ratio without a wingsuit!!!!!
It would be neat if some falconers would train their falcons to sky dive along with them. Well people bring their dogs surfing. So it is just something similar. :-)

i'd love to do this. i wouldn't risk getting so close to the floor or the mountain sides though. rather not become a red smudge on a rock haha.

That's called tracking, at least that's one term for it. If someone is a good tracker they can free fall in a 45 degree angle once their speed has been built up. Who knows, they maybe tracking better than that by now without a wingsuit.

It is truly frightening that man has come so far as to defy all logic and reason. To defeat all doubt for everything we once thought impossible, and to take to the skies against our own anatomical architecture. Opening our eyes in wonder as to what more man can accomplish with simpler technologies. Enlightening us to think that living on the edge is not a fascination for death, but a longing for life.
@unin00bster I totally agree with you in that point. They even said that at one point in the video, that they first tried to get away from the cliff as far as possible but by the time it was getting boring so they began "playing around". I'd really like to do a wingsuit base jump one day, but I don't believe I'd ever like to do proximity flights, I rather believe this could be a great feeling totally besides the danger aspect.
@Vaskibjorn You need to start static line, free fall, gets lots of practice doing relative work and free fall maneuvers, and then get the suit, start easy, and work up to it. Takes years. It's also illegal a lot of places, because there is a significant risk of smearing across the cliff face if you catch a downdraft or lateral.

We only get 1 chance at life and it's crazy that people do this stuff knowing they can die and any moment... I'm beyond confused. I hope they seek Jesus Christ, the one and only way to enter the kingdom of heaven and have eternal life.

some guy hit the ground once with his chest. Grazed it and bounced off really hard, he survived and landed successfully but it was a close call.

Wingsuits are expensive and you can't get one unless you have at least 200 hours of skydiving under your belt. Well, I am sure there are shortcuts but I certainly wouldn't want to take any.
I wish I was trust fund kid so I could do this, amazing.

Hey I'm a Christian too and I think if God's given you the brains and aspirations to achieve something like this, why not. It's stupidity only if people do something when they don't know what they're doing. Why do people still swim in the ocean when we know it's a realm that shouldn't be underestimated? Or drive cars when accidents happen all the time?
I encourage you to be more open-minded and learn to enjoy life - even to the extreme. God made the world wonderful so let's appreciate it. ^__^
For all those who say they want to do this; go to a parachute center (DZ) near you and do a tandem skydive. Very safe and large rush.
There is no fake video here. I know because I am a skydiver. Not all the video is wingsuit (tracking) and not all is BASE jump ( like the one jumper riding another).
Finaly, there are many wingsuit flyers trying to figure out how to land without using their parachute. One guy has done it by crash landing into a huge stack of cardboard boxes like stunt men do.

OK, stupid questions, because i mess that physics class - what's the lowest altitude when it is still safe to open your parachute?!
Another one, if i will free fall from a skycrapper (let's say 250m), how many seconds do i have until impact?
What speed / how many seconds do you need for these wingsuits until they can create lift and switch from free fall to something you can control?
man, this is amazing, ive never Sky dived, so i cant give any actual input, although there are PLENTY of know-it-alls who have no experience with stuff wh LOVE to comment, i cant do that. I do know this, i wud love to skydive someday, and maybe after that try a wingsuit after plenty of practice. As an ironworker, i deal with Heights everyday, and there is actually an ironworker in my local who likes Basejumping off the buildings and cranes we build. maybe someday ill follow! You should take the opportunity to learn this if you ever get the chance.
Remember that driving a car is also incredibly risky, but the risks are minimized by taking strict driving lessons until you rock as a driver.
It's the same with skydiving, you do tandem jumps with instructors until they see that you manage everything perfectly by yourself.
But they haven't yet? You're the one dwelling on how they're going to fail, when all i can see in this video is success.
Perhaps that reflects on your attitude in life. Maybe you should look into being positive.

I dont get why they wear helmets , i mean the actual proximity flying bit is soo dangerous & instant death if you make the slightest error that it seems strange to worry about bumping your head when landing .
& the helmet wouldn't protect squat if their head hit something while proximity flying .
This proximity flying is cool as fuck but its proper In-fucking-sane .
I am surprised that there huge balls don't scrape the ground as low they are going!

There was a documentary about proximity diving & a guy jumped out a heli at one point & was planning on flying past this huge suspension bridge really close while all his friends Etc were stood at the bit he was supposed to zoom past but he hit the bridge & just got obliterated .
Parachute, the boring way ;) however, Jeb Corliss is working on landing without a parachute with the aid of whats basically a big ass slide. :)
I also heard of someone trying to land into a load of cardboard boxes.. not sure of the truth behind that, but hey ho!
@wojtechj Usually the protocol is 100 skydives on your own, find a Base jumper willing to train you. Using a wingsuit you should practice with skydives first and about 150 jumps later use it while base jumping. This isn't a law or rule, but it is generally how people do it.

This song featured in a New Zealand-made performance car DVD series called 'High Octane' from around 2001-2005. Ive got the set of DVD's and I think the track is by one of the production crew who also features in the videos.
I would not do this on a cloudy day near mountains........ One second you're gliding through the clouds, can't see anything, the next second your lifeless body is crashing into and Rolling down a pointy, rock mountain at 150 mph. I personally would nor appreciate that. :)

The thing I really like about thesse guys is. To actually legally own a wingsuit you must complete 350+ Skydives. This is these peoples dreams and true passions. Following their dreams got them to this and now they are living it.
I would love to see one miscalculate a ridge and fly straight into a rock wall at 140 mph. Wouldn't that be cool? I am talking a direct, 90 degree into a flat wall. To where his shoes are in his helment. Come on, you know you'd love to see it too!

Coolest on earth to fly like that. October 14 2012 just watched Felix set world records for the longest free fall and the fasted speed ever, Mach 1.24 WOW imagine that! Sorry don't mean to take anything away from your awesome flight!
I also want to do it-no I need it... I will make next year my AFF and then after a while I want to get also into this experience. May somebody know where I can get a good scholl for AFF and forder. Live in Germany and could go inside Europe.
This is the closes mankind has ever gotten to flying without using some kind of powered machine. How I long to get one of those suits, an oxygen tank, and a plane to fly me as high as possible, then flying. Minutes would feel like hours to me.

get 200 reg jumps under your belt (usually the min for regulations in most countries some are as much as 500), then sign up for a training class in your state. Save up about 400 euros 600 700 US and get you suit my friend.
Accidentally smacking yourself, slamming into a foreign object (bird?), landing harsh and slamming into the ground (at a more reasonable speed). Its like asking why bother wearing a seat belt on a commercial airplane.
