This is so sick! I want to do that as well at least once in my life! And thanks for not putting music on top of it, I love the sound of the wind! Thank you for this epic post!
Amazing nobody collided into someone or got wrapped up in someone else's parachute. The risk here was extremely high and with such numbers it'd be almost difficult to fault. There's no way to practice for something of this scale specifically, so how did you ensure everyone was clear and wasn't just going to cannonball into your chute?
Luckily everyone on this jump has trained for many years. Everyone had to go through “try outs” with smaller group sizes and to learn and practice the fundamentals before being allowed on these record attempting jumps. The organizers have been putting these record jumps on for at least a couple decades and it has slowly built in size to what it is now, so they have experience in what they want to see out of certain people in certain positions and how to keep it safe for everyone. This was only one attempt out of almost 20 I think. If you were found to be performing in an unsafe manner or just simply not performing when the moment asked for it, you were cut from the jumps and someone would be waiting to take your slot. I was cut once but luckily was able to make it back on throughout the week of attempts. As for not running into each other during canopy deployment, we had staged break offs. The out ring (the one I’m in from the video) breaks off at a higher altitude and gains a lot of distance before deploying. Then the middle ring at a middle altitude, and so on toward the center jumpers. It makes it safer, but there are always risks and close calls.
@@basethekid Wow, amazing answer. Glad I found this clip of the many available. The breakoffs just looked so professional, I just had to ask. Well done getting back in. You did excellently! :)
I honestly can’t remember. Something like 3 groups and I think my group was around 7500. Pretty high. Towards the end of the week we were getting out at 21k
Here’s a fun numbers game. 200 skydivers each have around 200 jumps, that’s 40,000 jumps between them. The fatality rate for skydiving is 1 in 100,000 jumps. That’s 2.5 times more than every jump all these people have done and only one accident! Puts it into perspective doesn’t it?
Fatality rate for 2023 in the US was .27 for every 100,000 jumps. I would say the average number of jumps for the people in this group was around 2000 being very conservative. I think the least experienced person, jump # wise, was around 500-600 skydives.
@@basethekid I was being super conservative. Like if you don’t have 200 jumps you’re probably not doing a 200 way! 😆 So even better statistics! My point is skydiving is scary but safe, other things in life feel safe but should be scary!
Do you some times wonder why there isn't enough common sense in this world? That's because it was all crammed in these 10 air planes. Kudos to the informal choreography of you guys.
Su 57 bummer? Remember a lot I the pain I took was to save my family who were destined to loose by the stupid game We all have to die one day atleast it won't be the reason of loving your family which they made into a curse ❤ 😭
Imagine looking up on a sunndy day and seeing 200 people willingly falling from the sky.
i would think of it as an invasion

I had the same thought. And why didn't they show what happened after they opened the chutes except for one guy?
I come back to watch this time and time again.

What was the specifics of this?? I heard the formation was not solidified. 10 planes (I think?) and what altitude?
Yeah record was not achieved. We went down to 170 on the last couple days and bumped the altitude from around 19k to 21k
