Hi,
My name is Nik. Welcome to my channel!
I appreciate your likes and subscriptions!
Sincerely,
Nik.
The level of planning and preciseness that would have gone into making this must have been so overwhelmingly significant! I appreciate your work! thumbs upx100
I just stumbled on this video while binging CNC stuff and oh my god! This is incredible!
Simply stunningly beautiful. Precision made.

Most of my videos are a small report to my clients about their cutting boards and how they were made. I believe that it is very satisfying to watch it. And I really happy when you ask me to make a video because it is a special gift. Also, I want to say "Thank You!" to everyone who watches, liked, and comments on my video. I love your comments and always read them! I just do not have enough time to answer all of them.
Sorry:)
If you don't like the music, please turn off the sound :)
Thank you!
Answers for some frequent question:
The board size is 22*16*2.5 inch.
The board was made from maple inlaid with walnut and osage orange.
The time frame for a board like this is 4-5 weeks (if I'm not making other boards).
I use a lot of different types of bits from 6 degrees to 90 degrees. (read in description)
In this project, I have used 1/8, 1/2, 1/4 flat nose, and 15-degree v bit.
Feed rate 60 ipm for V bit.
for the juice groove, I used ROUND NOSE BIT
1/2"SH, 3/8"R, 3/4"CD Feed rate 70 ipm
For most projects, I use fusion 360, but also I use Ai, Vectric, Corel Draw, Inkscape, Ps.
For finishing my boards, I use that wax and oil broinwood.com/collections/cutting-boards-care
Why do I use a 1/4 flat nose bit for cutting inlay and surface? Because it does not make small chips.
Could you share what spindle speed (RPM) you spin your 15 degree v bit at? Awesome boards!
Great info.
And kudos for getting the compass rose in the correct orientation. Judging by the comments, not many people understand map roses and compass roses are different
Was actually going to ask what the small v bit was because it seems to have incredible fine detail !!
Amazing and best wishes. Just one comment you have to change or correct the east and west directions in that compass. Keep going bro
@@neilphillips3193 I would have gotten that wrong!
I would love to learn the skills for making one. You did a great job. getting my first cnc soon. You gave me a total different definition of a cutting board when i first started exploring a cnc
I really appreciate the quality of your videos and the way you provide soothing music in the background while showing what is possible. Though it would be extremely useful for those of us who interested in what software you are using and the techniques that you use to create these fantastic work pieces that you have designed.
Wow a lot of planning and patience and the results really stand out.
You are an awesome craftsman! And your CNC must be equal to your skills, judging from the fit up of the component parts! It is nice that we can all have this type of example- and such a result- to hope to attain in our own shops! Thank you so much for sharing what is possible in the field when the right skill meets the right equipment and imagination becomes the limiting factor! Color me impressed!
Как всегда великолепная работа! Всегда смотрю с удовольствием ваши произведения.
That is one beautiful board. I bet the owners put it on display, they would certainly not want to use it as a chopping board. Well done on a fine video and project.
Great work. Doesn't get any better than that. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Absolutely "Drop Dead Gorgeous"! Thanks for sharing your work!
just... wow! great piece of art
For all those saying the East / West are backwards, one thing to keep in mind - when viewing the star maps, the E and W are often reversed because you are looking up to the sky, not down to the earth. Perhaps that was part of the design?? I'm just shooting from the hip here.
Just blew your hip off !!
keep shooting then, nautical maps/star maps are NOT done that way
I would hang this board on a wall and use it as a painting. Simply amazing.
It turned out very nicely! Good luck to the master!
Unbelievably beautiful
Beautiful cnc work.
Incredibly awesome
Outstanding work. The fine details are simply awesome. 👍👍
As beautiful as always! You may want to cut out medallions at the 4 points; to rectify the transposed east/west. Unless; of course; they are a wayward family!! Lol
I noticed that too.
Nope ..... intended that way. ruclips.net/video/E8tFbAfgmdQ/видео.html
What a work of art, i would never chop anything on that board. 👍
Beautiful! Well done!
Thank you!
I am in awe. This is absolutely beautiful work and you should be proud of your talents
Thank you
Anyone else pucker a little bit when he was bandsawing the inlay pieces? One mistake and you're remaking some big section of that... all the glue uptimes. Ugh. Great work on this, I love it.
Excellent.Wonderful use of design and craft and technology.
Admirable...! Belle réalisation!
That is a really beautiful! Amazing!
Exellent job.Thank you for sharing
You are the Master. Congratulations. Greetings from Argentina
You do some really nice work. I have a CNC myself and plan to start doing some with designs that I see. I've watched all of yours and most of MTM woods. He has two excellent Little helpers
mind blowing
Hi Nik, What a beautiful piece of work. Very well done. Jim
The workmanship is amazing! However, didn't anyone notice that East and West are backwards on the compass rose?
Yes was searching for this comment! it's really amazing workmanship indeed, was hoping the image was mirrored or something but it seems not the case
West and east are misplaced excellent work
Great skills
That’s beautiful
Nice to watch to the end, thank you
That is incredible! Great job.
That is incredible! Great job
That is magnificent. Great work by everyone involved.
A masterpiece, This is a realy great job! Bravissimo, Micky, from Italy
Great job. Great art
What a channel!!! what a quality of work!!! Really Awesome!!! Subscribed...
Thank you!
“Never, Eat, Shredded, Wheat” acronym has always worked for me. I’ll never forget
My Something Random Natalie Eats Silk Worms
From Australia and I was always taught "Never Eat Soggy Weetbix".
@@mattyb76 Ugh !!! Cardboard !!
I have another saying, but it’s not an acronym. It’s “read up in nautical compass roses before criticizing”
www.stanleylondon.com/profaq7.htm
I just look north and know that west is on my left!
I like the works. Very good.
Отличная работа!!!
Nice job. 👍👍👍
Beautiful picture! My country also has many beautiful wood paintings.
Amazing
Amazing!! How do you get the piece back in the exact same place to recharge?
Impressed.
Exquisite masterpiece Wood Master!!!
Que hermoso trabajo con gran perfección un saludo desde Colombia
Incredible technique here, nice work.
It's so beautiful but a bit concerned about the compass rose being wrong, east and west are in the wrong positions xxxxxxxx
Belíssimo trabalho meus parabéns nota 10👍👍👍
Yet another master piece :-)
You may be tired of reading this (based on other comments)... but what a beautiful piece! Great Job!
I'm not tired. Thank you!
Awesome
Magnifiscient!
Really Incredible.
lovely work amigo, thanks for sharing
What a masterpiece!
What part of the ocean is this ? East and West are backwards. West and East. Beautiful pc anyways.
gorgeous! Great work.
Beyond amazing
this is soooo coool! well done!
The stress that the last toolpath will not F up.
*PERFECT CUT ! So Beautiful👍* How many time for this master piece ? be careful for the West and Est orientation ^^
Great job again, but the east west are the wrong way around
Yes
Oh nooooooo
When you are sighting directly North, the compass needle will point to North. If you turn 90 degrees to your left, you will be sighting due West, but the compass needle rotated 90 degrees to the right, which reads West on a properly reversed compass rose.
I think this is just the camera angle. It is just mirrored.
@@EselDompteur if this was the case, the letters would appear mirrored as well ..
Sooooo awesome! Cheers!
Gorgeous!
Such a beautiful piece to get the compass points wrong, all in all a bloody great job 👏
Ok am I seeing this backwards? E/W???, I saw alot of people talking about how when you do this then its the otherway, but thats not true, no matter where in the world East is always East, What am I missing here?
Eres muy bueno con el ordenador 👍🇪🇦
An other great job!!!
Amazing. Wow very cool
O this is beautiful very nice work nik
Крутая работа!
Sempre com excelentes trabalhos
Muito show✌
Good job and good music choose
Very nice board....Why do you use that 1/2 mill instead of a surfacing bit. Do you get better finish with mill? What does a board like that go for...
Машины творят чудеса!
Beautiful
Amazing as always
Awesome!
Awesome work and so chill to watch.
I was wondering if you stabilized the wood around 9:20. Such a delicate carve and yet no splitting...
EXPERT LEVEL CRAFTMANSHIP!!! +1 sub!
nice video keep it up👍😍🙏
Am I wrong to think he he got West and East switched, or is this a sea navigation thing?
master
anyone notice the compass rose is wrong. should be west to the left
Excellent Work! I would to know what feed and speed you used. The cuts looked perfect.
Good
My gosh, thats masterpiece i will never chop anything on that board. Btw what is the music? Mind sharing with us?
Hmmm....E & W for East and West on the compass rose are flipped. E should be to the right and W to the left.
How to make the side positive and negative of image in software - Brazil??
Sorry but I have to stop watching your videos. I'm jealous because I can't do it and I don't want to torture myself with wanting to try this when I know it won't happen. LOL very cool stuff here !!!
I would love to do some inlay work (not at your level, of course) but am confused about the inlay and pocket depths. I see so many conflicting opinions and you obviously know what you're doing. Would you mind telling me what depth you cut your mating components at, typically at least?
Thank you in advance.
Always exceptional work... art.
