We're here to make great holsters and educate anyone we can about that subject. We're not clued in to the inner-workings of the USSS or individual agents. We'd rather comment on what we know, which in this case is how to fit and train with a given piece of equipment.

Training is what will show if you are competent or not the holster appears too far back for the agents body shape & length of arm as she struggles to holster the weapon. Anyone who has carried a firearm will tell you there is such a thing as muscle memory which is what should be happening when holstering a firearm. A person carry a weapon should be able to holster it with their eyes closed in one swift movement. If they cannot get the basics right you have to question why they were employed & ask would you want them being your bodyguard ?

Just a thought, if you’re in the process of holstering your weapon, that should imply that the threat is over. If there is still an active threat, why would you holster? So, take the second to visually find your holster and properly put away your weapon so you don’t look silly or hurt yourself. It’s not a race to holster.

In the training world this was an evolution that I saw over time. Some years back instructors would be adamant that you not take your eyes off the potential threat, even momentarily. Over time this changed to what you're describing, where it was realized that if you are reholstering then the threat has subsided and looking to your holster, even briefly, was worth the time it took to prevent an incident. Case in point, I once saw an instructor almost have an ND because he was unwilling to look at his holster and didn't realize his coat was stuck in that holster.
One caveat I will make, is that a law enforcement officer making an arrest may be putting their firearm away while the suspect may no longer be an active threat, but could change back to an active threat. That officer may still need to go hands on with a suspect and need to reholster as part of that. Even in that case, a brief glance at the holster is possible (and more so in this event the agent is not going hands on to make an arrest).

I don’t think concealment is a priority when everyone knows they are agents. The mission is the priority. Mostly wearing suits and sunglasses and lapel pins combined with CAT Teams I would say weekly training and being allowed to have the right gear matters more. Got hips? Train and get a drop offset or stay in the office!

To me, it comes down to a weight issue, a gear issue that she wasn't aware of (due to not training), a skill issue (due to not training), and an issue of panic (due to lack of or poor training). The last one is often remedied with stress inoculation training. I wasn't with SS, but I assumed this is part of the training for their protection detail. Perhaps it's not.
They are not above criticism. It isn't dog piling them. When they resist taking accountability for what is clearly warranted, this is simply an outraged public attempted to make them take accountability and remedy the various problems we've witnessed during this incident. If they can't handle that, they aren't in the right line of work and I don't feel sorry for them.
I think this wasn't a great take (though you have the right to say whatever you please), but I understand what you were trying to do.

But through his explanation, he pointed out several facts such as she has not spent enough time training, and she did not have the proper gear to fit her body which would be a leadership problem…… Who is ever above her should have spent more time with her and others guaranteeing They were properly trained, such as creating high stress situations and having them continually draw and re-holster while under stress to verify the equipment was correct for the person..

The SS dog pile is not so much on the Close Protection Detail, but on training and/or physical characteristics of selected team members. That occurs at least one level up in the command structure. Note the agent shown was also later present in VP Vance's detail seen on the tarmac recently with harris' plane in the background during an ad-hoc exchange between VP Vance and the assembled press personnel. She has become easily recognizable.

@@vxy357 fitting the holster to your body and practicing the skills of drawing and reholstering your weapon are “entry” level skills. No one who struggles with these skills should be on the team because other team members are covering for her, or will be exposed unnecessarily to danger because she can’t do the higher level tasks required. She set it up for failure. She also has the job of protecting the president that day and can’t even put away a HER firearm in HER holster.
I’m not a LEO, I am a trainer. If I couldn’t public speak I would be rightfully fired. It’s my job. But I’m kinda thinking on getting a tenicore now, if I ever had to use my firearm in self defense, I’d love for you to throw yourself on the fire for me in court excepting every responsibility for my actions so you can sell a bunch of your crap to the public. That’s amazing customer service. How much did DHS pay you?

Holstering is an administrative movement for law enforcement. The “no look” holstering idea is outdated. If you draw your firearm you don’t holster it until the threat is completely eliminated, so just look at the holster. That’s also a safety procedure with striker fired firearms. I wasn’t concerned with her missing the holster once. I’m sure the situation was very stressful. Her lack of fitness troubled me more. How is she going to intimidate a minor bad guy? She isn’t. That’s a problem.
