Based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Lady M tells the untold story of Lady Macbeth. Chilling flashbacks of her haunted past are woven into this reimagining of the famous tale, revealing an original backstory to Lady Macbeth's villainy and downfall. Created and written by James Beeny and Gina Georgio, the sung-through musical features a modern score with original music and lyrics.

This looks amazing! It's probably the only way anyone will get me to see a Macbeth story ever again. I was traumatized by my first version of the play when I was younger. But I love shakespeare, musicals, and this cast looks amazing

I love the ominous mood created by the music (e.g. in the opening number) that evokes the mythic past of the play. The pop tonalities and rap rhythms in the songs are used artfully to express emotion without becoming jarringly anachronistic; they enhance the mood and deepen the characters, as do the excellent lyrics which are simple and direct and modern enough without snapping the spell of the past. The audio is really excellent. Did singers and musicians record post-production or was it a live recording?
