This one chick from high school messaged me and told me I was looking good and that we should date then immediately transitioned into how her ex boyfriend stabbed her other ex boyfriend and then talked about how meth helped her mental health. It was the only time I was ever complimented like that and it really hurt that it was a meth-head partially involved in a stabbing (it was absolutely not her fault but I think it’s reasonable for me to think I could be a potential victim of a stabbing.) it felt like someone had to be pretty messed up and desperate to find me attractive. And I might that men should also not hop in random cars with people even a random woman we tend to think we’re safer from women because of the average strength difference but she could have a gun or a knife and initiate a Jodi arias situation.

It's perfectly valid to still feel worried going into a stranger's car, regardless of gender. I had an uber customer who said he stayed up late watching true crime and got very scared to take an uber home but said he felt safe because i seemed nice. I felt bad that he was so scared, but it shows how right you are that anyone can experience that feeling. And dating as a man from what I've heard is far more difficult than dating as a woman. I've known attractive people who have great hearts that have trouble finding women, and dating sites are much easier for women than men in that women get a lot more messages, and men are often made to feel worse since they rarely get messages in comparison. Men definitely have it harder in that way, and it's a shame because many great guys feel like they are not enough. But we are all worthy of love and affection. I hope that in the meantime you get plenty of love from your friends and family because you deserve to feel supported.

@@Shortipop Thanks, I think my comment sounded a bit more like a sob story of “woe is me” than I intended and I no longer feel that way anymore. I even joked about it at the time, and on the bright side it was still a compliment and I don’t want to invalidate it just because she may have been on meth. I just really didn’t want to get involved either especially with the alleged stabbing thing.
