- Hyundai Genesis coupe with a muffler delete and high flow cat. We have two Hyundai Genesis coupes get their mufflers taken off for more sound and performance. One gets a straight pipe out the side and the other gets a y pipe into two dual tips.

3:47 so you got it set up with half the cylinders having less restriction so the most audible cylinders are heard at half the frequency than the sound would otherwise be. That's what is planning on doing. Thank you for confirming this.

Saw a wing like that on the highway on a blue coupe. A few hours later I pulled into the Hyundai dealer while I was in town because seeing the blue coupe on the highway with the big wing convinced me to look into them lol. I got there and they said they're not making Genesis Coupes anymore and they only had a 2.0T at the dealership. I'm looking for a blue Genesis Coupe with at least the R-Spec for the Brembos and with a manual transmission.

@@therealboofighter yeah, sounds like the frequency is cut in half. Like only half is opened up. Gets rid of that high pitch trumpet sound. I like it.

@@therealboofighter haha,I can't weld so I'm not going there. I just miss the sound of my Supra and want a similar sound. So I was planning on doing half and half exhaust to accomplish this.
The grey car has no mufflers at the back. It just comes off the middle and then splits.
I only mentioned the welds because so many people were hating on them. My friend who owns the car really loves it.
@boofighter, I'm assuming it's a 2013-15? If so, what front body kit did you use on the white? I hate the stock bumper for the 2013-15 and want to change it.

i was thinking of just getting Magnaflow Mufflers on my sonata 2.0T...Can mufflers alone give me slightly better performance?

I don't have any experience with the Sonata. If it is anything like the Coupe then the real gain will come with a tune. That being said, the Coupe had a real restrictive muffler and cat set up, so it won't hurt to open it up.
Is the grey one 3.8 with the y-pipe, resonator, and cat back? What size piping all the way around?

both cars are the 2.0t. The grey one is stock size up to the free flow cat, which is 3", then stock all the way back. The white car is stock except the muffler delete.

Yeah it looks like crap but this is the second winter with no leaks. Downpipe may be coming soon anyways.
So I want to do muffler, and res delete and put a highflow cat do I need to tune my car for that or I can just install a highflow cat without a tune please someone help me out

Does removing the muffler cause it to use up more gas than it would normally would? And is this a cheaper option instead of getting a new loud exhaust.

It has not improved or hurt the mileage.
It is a bit cheaper because you don't have to pay for a new muffler.

I have a 3.8 and it does make me spend a bit more in gas. If you do a straight pipe from the cat back, you're going to spend a shit load! And your performance of your gen will be shit! It will feel very sluggish!

It had no markings on it. I am fairly certain that any high flow cat will do the same. You just need the length and the diameter.
