Just played Gen 5 for the first time last year via Black 2, it was fantastic, definitely one of my favorite Pokemon games. I wasn't super thrilled with the roster of Pokemon, the ones I liked I really liked, but there were just so many that didn't really interest me. I was especially disappointed with the selection of Water types. Personally when it comes to Pokemon I'd rather take quality over quantity. But the game itself was good, the gyms were incredibly memorable, and I know I don't even have to say anything about the music.
But yeah, on that note, I hear literally nothing but praise for those games these days....I don't think you can really call them underrated. Literally no one is going around saying "You know, Black and White 2 were pretty solid, but not one of the better games in the series..." Maybe they were at one point in time, but that's definitely not the case anymore. They seem very appropriately beloved nowadays.

I love that game so much. I had finished my last playthrough to the credits roll in 80 hours - 39 minutes (Main + Extra contents) with a team of my beloved Pokémon: Servine, Woobat, Beartic, Mienfoo, Whirlipede and Vibrava. It has been 112 hours - 13 minutes now and there is still lots of things to do! I also didn't know about we gaining trophies from battle subway that appear at our home, which is an another cool feature! I only have beaten the Multi Train yet but now, I am even more eager to get 'em all!
I love Black 2. It was my favorite game and I also used Oshawott as my starter. This video was great and that final team of yours includes some of my favorite Pokemon honestly
PapaSea thank you so much for teaching me that you can unlock those trophies in your room for defeating the respective super battle trains! It means a lot, coming from someone who is in love with Pokémon white 2. Time to grind!
back when these games came out I bred for a perfect iv nature and ev trained team and swept the battle subway and stuff before going to online forums to do wifi battles . a lot of fun!
Gen 5 is just beauty in a Pokemon Gen; Battle Subway took hours from me that I'll happily give again now I know bout the Trophies. I remember my first W2 playthrough clocked in at about 112 hours and that's just doing story and small side quests. 👌
I have four days off coming up and this video makes me want to replay Black 2. I always had fun playing these games the added season changes made the games a lot of fun. I have really enjoy these videos and am happy they showed up on my feed.
BW2 are the last main series Pokemon games GF put effort into, they are the culmination of 15 years of 2d/sprite Pokemon games and by this point the formula had clearly been perfected to the point where a significant postgame fitted in. From that generation onwards things just declined more and more over time, it's clear GFrealised they literally don't have to do anything more than the bare minimum to meet contractual obligations since they still get a third of the massive revenue created by merch.
Some of the Pokestar studio movies are broken and require Crits, lucky misses, or for the ai to just finnaly fallow the script. I remember doing all of them in a row and some of them took litteraly dozens of attempts before a lucky Crit, or the ai doing what it's supposed to. I remember actualy throwing a level 100 pokemon at 1 because I just couldn't survive the props attacks otherwise
Yeah I did actually know about the Pokestar Studios creatures since it's a great source of healing items early on. Although grinding out movies can be a pain
The best thing about this video is that Sea incorporates the terms and lingo he found in the fire red guidebook such as "hammer away" in his regular vocabulary. Very underated
I've sunk almost 200 hours into my current w2 save file, just doing everything I want. Counting my other countless saves I've easily played for almost 400 hours lol
Dam I wish I learned this power, I can't play pokemon games for longer than 60 hours. Anything after that and it just feels forced. I usually play the story on slow mode, I just grind atleast 1 pokemon more than the current gym/league and level them atleast 10-15 levels up so it sucks up a lot of good time, plus it takes away the stress of using ithems and try hard tactics to defeat them. It always takes me around 30-35 hours to like reach the pokemon league, depending a bit on what game, I reached the pokemon league in HG/SS in less than 25 hours despite hard grinding (had a lv 78 typhlosion) Idk, the longest playtime I have is on heartgold, it was around 80 hours and I felt so bored. Another problem that I have with most pokemon games is that the amount of catchable pokemons are just so limited. a problem is that pokemon always divides the catchable pokemons between the games, despite preffering everything about black 2 (zekrom > reshiram, black tower > white tree) I still went with White 2 because Reuniclus was exclusive to W2. I feel like it would add a lot more or playability if they added more wild pokemons like after you beat the league, Pretty much the first 4-5 towns where you pass, you will never return ever again, because there isn't just much to do at all.
@@cyrisz4300 Well in W2 there are pokemon that only show up in post game, there's little things called outbreaks, where for a limited amount of time, some rare pokemon pop up on a random route, you can see which route on the bulletin board in the little tunnel between areas. This is unique to B2W2 tho. And I think B2W2 helps that there's a ton to do in the post game. Most other pokemon games don't have nearly as much to do while B2W2 has a ton. I even grinded to find a few feebas, even tho I'll probably never get the chance to evolve them.
@@colorado_offroad_lv I've recently hacked my 3ds and now downloaded Black 2, I hope I can put some longer time into it, I've also never reached as far as the nature preserve, I will try to get there this time because I need that shiny Haxorus xd
I don’t think the double battle ‘glitch’ was a glitch. The menuing for that scenario (when two Pokémon die in a double battle) is trash in black/ white and black 2/ white 2. They have you select the Pokémon you want to send in, then select which one you want to replace, but the wording they use is confusing. I’ve had it happen at least twice while playing these games
white 2 was the first pokemon game i maxed out the ingame timer (it's been stuck at 999:59 for many years now), the first game where i actually trained my pokemon to level 100 (which i have since done in all following gens too now), and just generally the game i enjoyed the postgame content in the most this video will be fun to watch ^^
i've done all of these things and more in my white 2, and i Still visit the save file every now and then to do something completely different e.g. sometimes i go back to the pokestudio (which i remember i told my braviary to "fly us home" and then flew to pokewood Many times), sometimes i do the subways, sometimes the pwt tournaments, sometimes i challenge the elite four, sometimes i do the white tree, etc etc etc i often visit my avenue which is of course full of maxed out stores, i do the 'lost and found' (not sure what it's called in english) mission between castellia and nimbasa cause i know all the good spots the items can be in and it's a good source of random items and pass orbs which in return are great for the white tree challenge as you can't use your bag there, but you Can use the hp and pp restore powers from the pass orbs, and you can switch your pokemon's held items from the pokemon menu so you can give them berries for status conditions if they have any (so basically as long as they don't faint you can basically just fully heal your pokemon anyways) i remember dedicating an entire afternoon or maybe even several to that huge underground area after finding it per chance, having the maps of the place open on pokewiki to get all the items and everything i must say tho i never noticed the trophies in our room xD i've never really paid attention to our room decoration, and the only time im even in there is when i happen to have beaten the league again and then i just run out immediately xD closing thoughts i never really thought of myself as a gen 5 fan, but white 2 was my favourite game for a long time and for good reasons - there is just SO MUCH to do even after beating it (it's really a shame people stop the playthrough after the league, in my opinion black and white 2 have so much more postgame content than any other game and are really not complete with just the first league defeat) - and i have nothing but fond memories of it, and this video Was very fun to watch seeing you go start all those things to do made me remember some of the things i had forgotten about (like the underwater castle) and you seemed to have fun :D
I loved the Pokestar studios when I was younger! I got so many lemonades from that backbacker, and while I never did manage to film all the movies I did get through a fair chunk of them, so I knew of at least some of the weird stuff from them.
Pokémon black 2 holds a special place in my heart. I was playing black 2 in the morning on summer break and when I was first playing the game you can see the view and I was so astounded
I think my favorite way to deal with the movies is to complete them in the wrong way- that leads to some sort of cult classic movie that everyone freaks out. Best way to reach that sort of ending is to use your own Pokémon.
That isn't a glitch when both your Pokémon die in the double battle , you have to select one then select the dead Pokémon so they swap on the menu and then repeat with the next Pokémon I also thought it broke as a kid but later I figure it out quite how it works but it's not a glitch
I feel like emerald could be interesting given all the great post game but diamond/pearl or platinum could also be interesting with the underground and other unique areas. would love to see another video in this format.
I admit, this is one of only two main series games I didn't finish, but after watching this I definitely want to go back to it and complete it. It's hard to believe how much they packed into a tiny DS cartridge!
I didn’t know that. This video has been done for a while and to be fair I was the first to do this type of video in Pokémon and I did say I would do black 2 for a while
Ya I knew about those monsters because when I first played the game and got to this part I thought that you have to do all the movies before you could leave.

Did you know Yancy and Curtis (the 2 with the Xtransceiver side quest in B2W2) are actually the celebrities Nancy and Christoph from TV Celebrity channel? This is not a speculation. How'd I found out? On the Xtransceiver when they were going to tell you their names they were about to give you other names (which were their celebrity names). You are only able to see a few letters of that name before they cut themselves off giving you Yancy or Curtis (depending on your gender). In Nimbasa City by the Audino statue there was a lady that mentions about the celebrities coming by and being on their Xtransceivers a lot. Lastly, after returning Yancy or Curtis their Xtransceiver go watch the Celebrity channel on TV. There is a text that will only play once involving Nancy or Christoph.

The only content in B2W2 I often replay is PokéStar Studios. It’s one of the greatest facilities in the franchise’s history.
5:10 “in two shakes of a lambs tail” I love that you’ve kept this from the nintended videos🤣🤣
There is definitely a lot of content you showed off here that I never knew was in the game. Really cool! And I totally forgot about the abyssal ruins, that would be such a cool area in a pokemon legends type game in Unova! I'm hoping for Unova out of any other region to get a legends game,
i know im gonna love the vid before even watching since i have a "special" bond with BW2! (wiped to Iris 2 times in my nuzlocke but beat her on the 3rd try of E4 and Attempt 6 of the game)
This was the most played pokemon game for me for a really long time. I actually played pokestar studios so much to the point I only did that for about 2 weeks. Black 2 white 2 are amazing games.
10 years ago😨 oh my how the time has passed, I swear just the other day my brother and I were playing “hooky” and playing yellow and crystal and silver and gold. Those had to have been some of the sweetest memories I have. Thanks sea
Love the video man. For your own enjoyment I’d say try fighting N in his castle for his rematch teams in each season. They’re a fun challenge!
Loved this video, great job man! would love to see you continue the time challenges in other games, maybe SSHG next potentially?
back when these games came out I bred for a perfect iv nature and ev trained team and swept the battle subway and stuff before going to online forums to do wifi battles . a lot of fun!
Gen 5 is just beauty in a Pokemon Gen; Battle Subway took hours from me that I'll happily give again now I know bout the Trophies. I remember my first W2 playthrough clocked in at about 112 hours and that's just doing story and small side quests. 👌
"I dont think anyone has used a sunkern in a let's play."
Mahdrybread:
YEEEEES I SEE THIS POP UP IN MY FEED, BLESSED BE YOU. LOVE THIS GEN SO MUCH IM SO GLAD I SUBBED
"... Dethroned Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum." I really love hearing that.
I loved the pokestar studio so much, it was so much fun
seeing that pokestar studio monster thing brought back so many memories from when i was like 9 playing this game
I'm doing a shiny badge quest in black right now. Just over 400 hours and I'm working on my 4th full odds shiny.
I completed all of PokeStar Studio because I loved the art of the protagonist you got to see in them
Some of the Pokestar studio movies are broken and require Crits, lucky misses, or for the ai to just finnaly fallow the script. I remember doing all of them in a row and some of them took litteraly dozens of attempts before a lucky Crit, or the ai doing what it's supposed to. I remember actualy throwing a level 100 pokemon at 1 because I just couldn't survive the props attacks otherwise
I lovw how he still use those wierd Dialogues from guidebooks like Hammer away or two shakes of a lamb tail.
I loved Pokestar. Played through all of them. The stories were absurd and wild.
Black 2 and White 2 are my favorites. I was obsessed with join avenue
@@cyrisz4300 If I remember correctly, Black tower gives out a shiny gible in B2 while white tree gives a shiny dratini in W2
the fact that Gen 5 are my fave and I didn't know about like half of these things is mind blowing
I’ve had it happen at least twice while playing these games
white 2 was the first pokemon game i maxed out the ingame timer (it's been stuck at 999:59 for many years now), the first game where i actually trained my pokemon to level 100 (which i have since done in all following gens too now), and just generally the game i enjoyed the postgame content in the most
this video will be fun to watch ^^
i've done all of these things and more in my white 2, and i Still visit the save file every now and then to do something completely different
e.g. sometimes i go back to the pokestudio (which i remember i told my braviary to "fly us home" and then flew to pokewood Many times), sometimes i do the subways, sometimes the pwt tournaments, sometimes i challenge the elite four, sometimes i do the white tree, etc etc etc
i often visit my avenue which is of course full of maxed out stores, i do the 'lost and found' (not sure what it's called in english) mission between castellia and nimbasa cause i know all the good spots the items can be in and it's a good source of random items and pass orbs which in return are great for the white tree challenge as you can't use your bag there, but you Can use the hp and pp restore powers from the pass orbs, and you can switch your pokemon's held items from the pokemon menu so you can give them berries for status conditions if they have any (so basically as long as they don't faint you can basically just fully heal your pokemon anyways)
i remember dedicating an entire afternoon or maybe even several to that huge underground area after finding it per chance, having the maps of the place open on pokewiki to get all the items and everything
i must say tho i never noticed the trophies in our room xD i've never really paid attention to our room decoration, and the only time im even in there is when i happen to have beaten the league again and then i just run out immediately xD
closing thoughts i never really thought of myself as a gen 5 fan, but white 2 was my favourite game for a long time and for good reasons - there is just SO MUCH to do even after beating it (it's really a shame people stop the playthrough after the league, in my opinion black and white 2 have so much more postgame content than any other game and are really not complete with just the first league defeat) - and i have nothing but fond memories of it, and this video Was very fun to watch
seeing you go start all those things to do made me remember some of the things i had forgotten about (like the underwater castle) and you seemed to have fun :D
I genuinely love this video so much, watching it for like the fifth time and it's so good
great video, king! love your videos! thank you for the upload!!!!
I spent so much time looking for a legendary Pokémon in the abyssal ruins during my first play through
Gen 5 is the absolute best pokemon generation. I hope when the black/white remakes are eventually made they don't screw them up.
Let’s hope they are nothing like Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl then!
Great video, lot of fun. Now I wanna go hit 100 hours in Legends Arceus. Currently at like 35 or something like that
Not gonna lie, Sunkern looks pretty epic with those prop glasses on!
Woooohoooo love this. Good stuff man!
This reminded me of my old black 2 account I still play. I am up to around 800+ hours because I love this game so much
5th gen to me are the games that best recaptured the feel and vibe of gen 1 and 2 games
100 hours of a pokémon game? That definitely took three shakes of a lamb's tail
I LOVE PERSONA 5, last surprise really did surprise
In the opening
I didn't need to watch the video. As soon as I saw you picked cute boy Oshawott i knew it will be good. Love it!!
i have more than 500 hours in that game and i love every second, my fav gen no doubts
I actually tried to do all of the movies of the PokerStars studios. I found it really cool
I admit, this is one of only two main series games I didn't finish, but after watching this I definitely want to go back to it and complete it. It's hard to believe how much they packed into a tiny DS cartridge!
The Pokestar Studio movies was one of my favorite things about B2/W2. I wish they'd bring it back in future games
Lol Indutro just played White 2 for 100 hours yesterday. I’m not complaining, I like the Gen 5 content
I didn’t know that. This video has been done for a while and to be fair I was the first to do this type of video in Pokémon and I did say I would do black 2 for a while
@@PaPaSea At least link his channel in description if you are going to copy his video idea...
@@elephantisland695 why would I link someone else’s video when I was the first person to do this type of video in Pokémon?
@@PaPaSea great minds think alike
Ya I knew about those monsters because when I first played the game and got to this part I thought that you have to do all the movies before you could leave.

"... besides Pokémon B2W2, we didn't get anything like this."
Pokémon SM's and USUM's Festival Plaza: Am I a joke to you?
yes
When big papa says hit like I break out the hammer and start hammering away
Pokestar studios is really underrated IMO I loved that shit when I was 12. Especially when I had all level 100s and pretty much had nothing to do.
I love the last surprise remix at the start
Pretty funny that he calls Ingo Emmet twice
i recently finished my first pokemon play through and it’s white 2! i love the game sm!!
I really enjoyed your video, please continue the rest of game above 100 hours like catching the pokedex and other side quests and upload a video on it.
"nothing interesting in the ruins" MY FRIEND IT'S A GIANT MULTILAYER PUZZLE
great video though. went in scoffing at some things that I thought were pretty obvious and ended up learning things I didn't know about the game myself. Been playing since it came out devoutly.
BW2 is PEAK Pokemon games. If i had the time to play this again i would f*ckin smash it 100%. Nate’s design is absolutely beyond top notch and my #1 favourite 2D protagonist.
I had like 600 hours on black 2 when I was younger, prob still my favourite Pokémon game
I hope that when the gen 5 remakes come out they combine both the maps of bw and b2w2 into one in someway
Lol Gamefreak will never let that happen
Stop they don’t need a remake
YES THE POKESTARS MONSTERS ARE SO GOOD
I have played white 2 for almost 500 hours and you have done more then I have
these have been my favorite games in the ENTIRE world and i've had hundreds of thousands of dreams of them love them so much ❤️ zekrom is also my favorite pokémon ever
Black and White 2 have always been my favourite Pokémon games
I did those Battle Subway trophies, I love the battle facilities, which is why I'm disappointed Scarlet and Violet don't even have one. I loved the various Battle Towers and Tree too lol.
I can already tell that this video is going to be a good one since oshawott is your favorite starter of all time
Pokémon white 2 is one of my favourite games (probably because it was my first) but I just love everything about it
Did you know Yancy and Curtis (the 2 with the Xtransceiver side quest in B2W2) are actually the celebrities Nancy and Christoph from TV Celebrity channel?
