  • Assembling the second pack of parts for the Fanhome 1966 Batmobile Diecast partwork model. Finishing the front suspension and the front wheels. George Barris really made a cool hero car out of the Lincoln Futura concept car and I am sure Adam West and Burt Ward would have gotten a kick out of seeing this go together. I got the box for the instructions in my shipment, and I’m two stages behind you.
I think I was more taken aback by the implication that we’re looking at SIX BOXES of these booklets! 😱

Yeah, like I said I usually throw away the instruction magazines when I finish a build, just too much stuff to find a place to store.

it's gonna likely be the second longest partwork car ever made in this scale.

@@PitstainHobbies This chassis was designed by Hess and Eisenhardt of Cincinatti Ohio. It is the longest chassis ever put under a two-door car. Six were originally made and intended for use solely by Lincoln. Ultimately, one other made it under the 1955 Lincoln MK2, hardtop retractable. A version of the design was used in production MK2's. This chassis is known as the 'cow belly'. The engine that came in the Futura was a slightly modified truck engine. (Yes, Lincoln made trucks at that time). This recreation is faithful to the original. I wish I could have just paid for the thing up front and got it all at once though. Can't wait for my next round of parts. Keep the helpful videos coming. I use oil on all my screws now for fear of stripping or breaking one off. I use 3-in-1.

Looks good Ian, just be sure not to let the Batmobile loose a wheel, or the Joker may get away.

You and me both, I would first want the 1989 Batmobile but love the tumbler as well.

I can only imagine (hope?) Mike Lane will eventually offer a magnet upgrade for the bat center caps and some bat carpet...

I dont see an issue with the snap on hubcaps, and not sure if carpet will be included but if not then I do hope Mike Lane makes some.

@@PitstainHobbies Considering the nature of the floor pan, carpeting should be exceptionally easy in this scale. Doll house carpeting dyed black, or my personal choice, black suede. The proper suede, soaked in water and laid over the floor pan to dry should get you the proper shape, but you may have to do it several times to get it fully snuggled down. Once happy with the shape, trim and install.
