    OMG, please save me!!!
Should I make the WAV "larger" by turning up its individual volume (on the clip) or the main volume??
Cos sometimes 2 different looking WAV files sound the same!!
Or if I "resample(?)" one track into a second track (from MIDI or WAV) it gets quieter

You'll be unsurprised if I say "it's complicated"! In this vid I'm referring to Mastering, where the chief goal is loudness. For the creating stage - I'm sure (hope) you're familiar with the term 'gain staging'. I'd say I know the basics but like most things everyone has a different way of doing it. I think you can do it either way in reality. But this is likely why your resample is quieter.

      Thank you.
Yes, "heard the term" but no, not familiar with it.
Also seen it suggested to use "guide track" (popular song of mastered standard) - they tend to be "thick WAVs" and incredibly/aggressively loud, so I "have" to turn them down just to be able to work

@darrengordon-hill do a little YT searching on gain staging, you'll learn loads, just remember that 1 person's way isn't necessarily the only way.
Ref tracks are great for mastering (Will Darling, EDM Tips) has a great vid on how to use them and sort the relative volumes.
