Hi Everyone!
As of June 2020 I am completely new to the world of music production. I have been a drummer and acoustic guitarist for years, but actually *creating* something is a new, and a bit scary, challenge. Ideally I want to get into what I'll call 'epic' music - so that's trailers, film, games, orchestral. I know, lofty goals eh?!
As you'll see in the vids I use Ableton Live. That's because I still need to do some live stuff for which Session View is perfect.

I know it's far from perfect, but all the advice out there is just make sure you finish tracks and don't just leave them all part-finished.

A great instrument for sound design or as layers to other stuff I reckon! ProjectSAM have delivered again and for free we certainly can't complain.

According to the internet the acoustic guitar is the most dull instrument. (I'm not sure I agree, but hey). C major is the most dull chord. So here it is: The most dull jingle, using the most dull chord, played on the most dull instrument, using dull (old) strings, recorded at the most dull tempo (120bpm - the default in most daw's). The title slide of this video uses the most dull font (Arial)...

Funnily enough a few days before release I had a thought that it might be percussion this time round, and I was right! Great spacial options in this one and some really expressive velocity-based volume control. Please also check out parts 1-5 to hear the piece build up from the start.

A lovely Concert Harp recording with an interesting 'big knob' (their word!) effect. A great Christmas present from ProjectSAM and a super addition to the ever-growing TFO2. Have a listen to the composition as it grows month-by-month. Checking out parts 1-4 helps the RUclips algorithm like my stuff!

The 4th part of the year-long release of free vst instruments is... Tutti Crescendo. It's a great little instrument for adding flourish to passage endings or the foundations in epic/cinematic/film music. Check out my other videos on parts 1 to 3 as well.

Accenting Winds. I guess you might call this one a medley of instruments since it's winds, xylophone and brass all together! Not so easy to fit into our composition this time but we tried. Check out my other 2 videos on parts 1 and 2 as well.

Well, it's been a whole month and so the 2nd part of ProjectSAM's 'The Free Orchestra 2' was released today.
