    I've been watching your content for the last hour and feel like nobody has done the amount of work to explain the most simplest things regarding Ableton practices, especially for new users and those with less experience. I'm a drummer that spent many years avoiding this kind of stuff, and now that I'm actively learning it, this video feels like it was made specifically for me. Thank you Robin, you've earned my sub!

      Hey Adam, thanks so much, means a lot to me. You can see I don't post that much, just hope that what I do post is useful. You know I'm a drummer as well, right?!

      @@robin_miller_musicthe first video I watched of yours was when you said you were a drummer and very new to music production! So either you're very good at explaining things or our brains are structured in a similar fashion so we're linked in a way! We're all just brothers and sisters anyway right!?

      @@Drummerbrah16 As drummers I expect we probably do think along similar lines! But I have been told before I'm good at explaining stuff, in fact in another part of my life all the vids on here are me www.excelcourses.online

      @@robin_miller_music that's actually really awesome! I know very limited about Excel so I'm glad to know I can further exploit your knowledge if necessary!

    Well, that's the easy part; saving the preset rack. But what about the samples? Ableton only saves the rack with reference to where the samples are at the time the preset is saved. I think it is wierd that we are not able(ton) to pack the rack with our samples???

    Hello robin. On Ableton 10. Everyone I use the command extract chain to edit my drums separately a new track is created. On the old versions it was a simple new track. But now on Ableton 10 when I extract chains a new track os created but inside this track there is a sub chain. How do I work with it?

    • @robin_miller_music

      What do you mean by a 'sub-chain'? When I extract out a chain it just creates the new channel with the drum rack in as expected

    Ok but how do I actually SAVE the AUDIO WAV SAMPLES in the hard drive?...

    • @robin_miller_music
      @robin_miller_music  2 года назад +1

      Hi, can you clarify exactly what you mean? Saving actual samples isn't part of creating a rack.

    • @thebrunoserge
      @thebrunoserge 2 года назад +1

      @@robin_miller_music Should be a simple task (to open sample selections from Live in other sample organizers like XO) but it isn’t, Ableton just saves a proprietary file it seems. I landed here thinking this was a solution to that workflow issue

    • @robin_miller_music
      @robin_miller_music  2 года назад

      @@thebrunoserge Sorry, still not quite sure what you're trying to get. You can't expect Ableton *racks* to be available in another program, but if you're still referring to original samples then Ableton doesn't save them in a proprietary file, they'll be whatever file type the were originally. Don't know if that helps?

    • @thebrunoserge
      @thebrunoserge 2 года назад +1

      @@robin_miller_music Will they? In what drive path? Inside the session folder? I couldn’t for the life of me find an “export samples” or “locate in explorer” option for the WAVs. Live should have that

      @@thebrunoserge On a PC (at least) you can right-click on the folders in the explorer window and choose 'Show in Explorer', I'm not sure what the Mac equivalent command is. The folder list includes a folder for 'Current Project'. Does that help?
