Hey All! If anyone has an interest in any of the tanks I'm not gonna use :) Drop me a line. I'm also trying to get a list together of what else was NOS at the former dealership..Cheers!
Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing. Super interested in the tanks, not sure where to go from here. Please keep me in the loop and I’d like to know more about what’s available and prices. My son and I have just acquired our first ‘70’s Honda’s- cl100 scrambler and a cm185t Twinstar. Pretty stoked to get them running. Thanks again I appreciate it. Regards, David Maple
hello brother.. I'm interested of your cb750K tank for my build. If possible you can reply to me if it's still available.
Crazy finds! cant wait to see the finished result! Im using a 1978 Honda Cb750 tank on mine!
Tanks;Tanks;Tanks and a cute little one for the cb 400!!! Real good video and story about fuel tanks.....THANX Steve.......
Wow that Honda tank was amazing, such a shame she wouldn't fit!! Think it worked out well in the end though, and I doubt anyone will give you grief about losing that red paint job, haha.
I’m building my 82’ cm450...When you told me to wait until the next episode, I thought something went wrong with the new mounts lol...I’m relieved it’s strictly just a tank issues and not something more serious man. I just went through the hassle of tracking a tank down for my bike. Hopefully it gets here on Wednesday! You got really damn lucky with your pristine boxed up/ gift wrapped basement tank man. Ready for the next episode.
Yeah, I had no idea I was walking in to the 80's tank mecca! If yours doesn't show up you know where another one is 😁
Damn right I do 😂🤣😂🤣
That does have a nice fit... Gives the bike a different look👍very nice 👌
Wow a nos tank with original box! $$$ if i were you id hang on to it for awhile. I do like the look of the tank on the cafe racer i like the bare metal look. Great vid! 👍
GEEEEEEEZ!!!! A brand new tank??? Helluva find
Yes the Suzuki 750 tank is a monster of a tank lol, shame about the new/old stock Honda tank, looked mint! 🇬🇧
still playing catch up... the new tank looks great. i like the roundness to it, works well with the seat. you should do the fuel cap in black.
perfect tank, looks great! There's an oil paint extender called Penetrol that works great for bare metal finishes but it does darken it a bit , nice patina tho. Try it on the leaky tank first if you're curious. Tank #2 might look good on the XJ if it weren't for the Honda emblem.
Have you considered and or ever tried brazing the holes in the tank closed? I bought a super cheap lowes brazing kit and patched my CM400T gas tank in a day with the brass rods the kit came with. Worth a shot for sure, may even save you some money... in the future lol!
Sweet! Be interesting to what all tanks that guy has.
Hawk was only 78 that’s a 79 cm 400 maybe but hawk was 78. Just so you know! Buddy great job!👍🏻
If shipping isn’t too expensive to ship to Australia I’m keen on that Nos tank
CHARLES BRONSON email me your address. I can check and let you know.
Holy crap I thought the tank that came with my bike was stock but it looks just like the one you threw on. Think I'm going to build my bike 95% identical to yours lol.
👍👍👍
holy gas tanks....
Same tank and colour model I have errr had for a '82 CM450C. I had to strip the paint off of mine because of pin holes along the bottom seams on the tank. Radiator repair shop did a good job soldering and pressure testing for a decent price with a warranty along with the work they've done. Have to changed up the paint on my bike but prob just going to do weathered bare metal and clear coat.
Side note. like how you did the frame on the CM Cafe Racer build. thinking of doing something similar (cafe / bobber look)
Yeah, its definitely a good frame for cutting, lends itself to some pretty cool mods. Nice one with the rad shop, keep it in mind for next time.....Cheers
Really nice! Good job :-)
I have 2 cm 250 tanks available. Good shape
Good choice on the tank! xD
Damn Steve I could probably use a bunch of parts from that guy for my bike. 79 cm 400 a
I know its been over a year, but any chance you still have the NOS tank? It looks just like my 81 CM400C tank, and mine is in rough shape.
Lol I actually do! Threw it on a shelf and forgot about it.... drop me an email - combustionjunction8@gmail.com
Hey. Can CB 750 tank fit to CB 400t?
Use that new tank and change your build a little bit??? No ???
What did you use to seal the tanks that failed. Just curious as to what to stay away from.
calvin hernandez it was the por15 gas tank treatment. I’ve used it before with good results. I think that part of the tank was way more gone then I realized.
@@Beachmangarage Caswell Epoxy liner would have held up.
@@jsandidge1 Good to know!
I am looking for a tank for my cm250c honda 1982. Dont know if it will look too big. If you still have it , that is........
Yep, still have it. Not sure what the size difference is though
@@Beachmangarage Ya maybe i should just try find a original if i can , havent really started to look yet. Thanks very much though. Going to turn the cm250 into a tracker on and off road . Out here in British Columbia lots of logging roads. This is my first build got it for 100 bucks. Just received my carb kit so i am excited works with a little starter fluid , and only has 16000 on the odomiter. Thanks for the great videos. I am learning lots.
@@tomhall3175 My first road bike was a CM250, and I bought it in BC..... It was very low milage and in desperate need of a carb rebuild.... could it be the same one lol!!!
@@Beachmangarage LOL!. WEll in that case send me the registration i need it LOL.
Send me his info
mike eger I don’t want to give his info without permission. Also he won’t do shipping, this is a cash in person sort of thing for him. I’m gonna try to get a list together of what is there. Stay tuned 👍
