If you love Nikki, don't forget to check out Sean Wright's video we released on vfJAMS! It's amazing to see how these two incredible artists approach tunes that kind of have similar feels. ruclips.net/video/UJTE_isSidw/видео.html
Nah this is way cooler and funkier then the Sean wright's arrangement. That had a retarded loop going on the entire time, like why, it doesnt add and he has a percussionist on hand to take of that
You have got to be kidding!!!! Enjoy?!?!? As each drummer brings their own 'Special Sauce', the incredible musicianship of the ENTIRE UNIT is on KILLLLLLLLL. Y'all are modern day Funk Assassins!!! Can't wait for the next guest artist. THANK YOU!!!!
That would be Nate Werth. He definitely holds the record for most assists provided by a percussionist. He elevates every band he plays with, and that's a huge compliment considering who he sits in with on a regular basis.
Drew trotter I'm assuming the arrangement was composed the way it was too showcase ghost note because of how hype the band played and more like the lead instead of the drummer as compared to the other drummers they've had play already and my theory behind that is Nikki is a strong powerful pocket player and because of her style that aloud the band to cut up and shine more and I think that was the whole point on this particular arrangement!!! Your right she did a great job and held that pocket down strong but gave us just a little taste of her solo abilities. I totally agree with your statement bro✌
I'm going to see Ghost-Note next month and I'm really hoping I get to meet Sput (and the others, of course) at the show. They are playing a small venue so my chances are fairly decent. I'd love to just shake his hand and tell him how much I appreciate all of his music.
The same way anyone could it's just now days you've got to be careful because people will try and steal your meterial remember the music industry is shady now Wich is one reason why I don't do any long-distance touring anymore only to be robbed of my equipment !! Now I do mainly light show's where I can eather drive to or take an Uber or Lyft to with a extra tag along to help me with my equipment as far as taking my equipment to local venues and lighty abroad I've always setup and take down my own equipment they just help me with unloading and loading and watching the equipment when I'm not around it in churches venues aditorioms festivals inside and outside
@@jamesfranklin7450 how did you manage to turn the question into talking about your fear of losing gear??? Sput writes sick tracks because he is educated, dedicated and has put immense amount of work into learning to compose.
They are all so damn good. My person unsung hero (though everyone loves him) of the group is Nate Werth. His percussion work is out of this world and adds so much more depth to every group he plays with.
Love an artist who sits in the pocket allowing the listener to appreciate the full spectrum of sound and musicianship with out it being constantly disrupted by an over zealous drummer with chops to burn, less is definitely more, she killed it 👌
Who noticed Larnell Lewis in the audience? He saw the lady at the drums having everything under control! About Sput : He let the drummers shine, although He is one of the best !
Yeah, they were all loving it. Larnell was grooving and Aaron Spears had a permanent smile on his face the whole time. I also saw Kaz near the beginning and he was playing some mean air-keyboards, haha.
Zildjian I love you for this series while hating you because I know you recorded all of these in one day and you are making me wait months to see them all the pain is too much
I thought so too! I even went so far as to look for tickets to catch Aaron to no avail, because, of course as you said; they recorded all of these in one day.
Stupid amount of funk in THIS one. Best sax solos Id ever heard! The alto sax player (Jonathan Mones) definitely giving me a Michael Brecker sound! Nikki straight grooved and jammed.. GEEZ Zildjian...yall on FIYA!
Of course Nikki nailed it, but man, everytime Nathaniel Werth amazes me. He is like the perfect safety net for all these great drummers. That cowbell at 7:14 !
Man she's a beast!!!!! She nailed it most definitely!!!!!!! She hit all skins and cymbals right on point without even simply making a mistake!!!!!!! This what I call making HISTORY!!!@!!!!!!!!
We don't deserve any of this hahaha. Nikki with that solid solid pocket, great way to show the capabilities of the cymbals! Can't wait for the next three!
I just watched the sickest, low down dirty stinky kick ass groove I’ve ever heard. The level everyone is playing at is stunning. The video work was on point!
i love the way she play the drums! So groovy and know when to take the "spotlight" and give the "spotlight" to others! The saxophone player looks like really enjoy play the music too
Shes so locked in with the bass its insane! It reminds me of an electronic drum kit where you can program the bass line to play with every kick hit. Shout out to the baritone bass player too!
To see drumming executed to this level is amazing. There is a place for chops and there is a place for great fills. This was so greatly done like it should be done. A clean pocket with fills that don’t take away from the band as a whole and then when they let you loose then you go nuts. I loved every minute of this PERIOD!!!!!!
I will never be near as hood as this on a set, but I always find myself rewinding parts of songs. This is my first time hearing this performance. Rewinded parts 10 times before I had even let it play one full time. She is cold!!
My face hurts from keeping a stank face on. The tightness in this groove is the zip-tie that ties the box of zip-ties when shipping zip-ties out of the zip-tie factory. Well done Glaspie. Just so well done. I can't!
Can the audio engineer PLEASE give my boy Vaughn Vkeys Henry some audio levels in the mix??? We NEED those keyboard chords @2:46-2:50!!!! Great job otherwise!!!! 🙏💯🔥❤️
The celebration of all these fantastic drummers and other musicians is exactly what makes this community so damn special. I love the love here. Play on eternally!
One of my favorite things about this series after watching numerous times, are the cutaways to the “audience”. When I watch for the first time I’m of course wowed by the performance. But then you notice the “audience” are made up of so many BADASSMFRS!!! enjoying themselves and feeling the energy in the room! LOVE THIS!!! From members of Snarky Puppy to Ghost Note and so many more. Pulse raised! Blood pressure lowered! If that’s even possible. Haha! Music is Medicine!!!!
Dude! Killers! Those chops are crispy, that bass player is ALL over it, the horns were SO tasty, the keys were vibin. This group and especially that drummer freakin RRRIIPP it!
Man!! She was really the bus in the song, I watched all the serie for 4 times and this song with Nikki is the one when I see all the musicians very joyful to play the song. That means she really carried and drive everyone with that amazing power pocket! I certainly felt "EVERY PIECE".
That sax line sent shivers down my spine and got my face like "Oohhhhh!!!". 😁 It's hard to not dance to this man, especially I am in a barbershop right now. 😁 But it also bought a tear to my eye, because it has been such a while since I last seen musicians just dancing, having fun and interracting with one another. 😊 This is the MUSIC I know. EVERYONE DANCES.

OK Cool... I will check it out..! Thanks for the tip..! Mixxbosses Radio 92.5FM Germany..! 😎📻🇩🇪
Nah this is way cooler and funkier then the Sean wright's arrangement. That had a retarded loop going on the entire time, like why, it doesnt add and he has a percussionist on hand to take of that
" you released on vf jams?"
@@chingonbass DUDE Y SO NEGATIVE?
Samuel Lim zildjian owns vic firth, or something like that
We hope you're enjoying watching these as much as we enjoyed playing them.
The arrangements are killer... So freakin tight.. Mono Neon man.. Love your groove..
You guys are amazing
Watching daily 😍🥳❤️
More mono!!
Honestly though? The percussionist absolutely kills in all these performances
SonSauvage homeboy doesn’t get enough credit he is on top of it lol
That would be Nate Werth. He definitely holds the record for most assists provided by a percussionist. He elevates every band he plays with, and that's a huge compliment considering who he sits in with on a regular basis.
SonSauvage RIGHT❗️
SonSauvage I was gonna say the same 😂💪🏾🔥
Fax
I like how she really allowed the other instruments to shine. Didn’t dominate the composition but still let those chops fly when it was time
HUGE comment!!!
Exactly my thoughts too, incredibly tasteful, loved it
Yeah fs
Drew trotter I'm assuming the arrangement was composed the way it was too showcase ghost note because of how hype the band played and more like the lead instead of the drummer as compared to the other drummers they've had play already and my theory behind that is Nikki is a strong powerful pocket player and because of her style that aloud the band to cut up and shine more and I think that was the whole point on this particular arrangement!!! Your right she did a great job and held that pocket down strong but gave us just a little taste of her solo abilities. I totally agree with your statement bro✌
My thoughts exactly. I realized wasn't paying attention exclusively to the drums, then realized that's because she's playing super musically
When the audience is room full of world-class drummers they all clap perfectly on time.
Sput does not get enough credit for these arrangements!!!! Another great vid.
Yeah! Not only is Sput an amazing drummer, he’s a phenomenal keyboard player and musical arranger!
He don't need it. He's not that kind of guy. He's too humble. Love him to death.
I'm going to see Ghost-Note next month and I'm really hoping I get to meet Sput (and the others, of course) at the show. They are playing a small venue so my chances are fairly decent. I'd love to just shake his hand and tell him how much I appreciate all of his music.
Horn section trying to raise James Brown from the dead.
He would have had tears in his eyes while dancing!
Zildjian Live and VF Jams is in my opinion the best RUclips content the drumming community has received. Just SO inspirational and SO fun!
I concur!!
And Tiny Desk concerts
Nate Smith
Bruh I think season two of vf jams is in the same building lol
Same producers. Zildjian owns Vic Firth; hence the VF headphones.
The drumming is of course, fantastic. What I would like to know though, is how the heck is Sput writing so many incredible tracks so quickly?
The same way anyone could it's just now days you've got to be careful because people will try and steal your meterial remember the music industry is shady now Wich is one reason why I don't do any long-distance touring anymore only to be robbed of my equipment !! talent, creativity, gifting.
@@jamesfranklin7450 how did you manage to turn the question into talking about your fear of losing gear???
Sput writes sick tracks because he is educated, dedicated and has put immense amount of work into learning to compose.
Josh Woodley Larnell, Kaz and Omar all wrote the tracks they played, according to the notes, although Sput did arrange them :) 🥁 🎹
Sometimes you have tracks you never release until the time is right.
That Asian sax player was so into it especially when they went into it a 3rd time ! Love it
All of these songs on these videos are amazing! But Mono has absolutely murdered every bass line! Would love to play with a bassist like that!
can't wait for my compositions are this epic. and hopefully with a bomb ass band!!!
They are all so damn good. My person unsung hero (though everyone loves him) of the group is Nate Werth. His percussion work is out of this world and adds so much more depth to every group he plays with.
Monoooo bai!! Manz be killin on this track. 100th level musical choices. 🇹🇹
I easily watch this video like 7 times a week minimum.
i just watched it 4 times in a row haha
I Love you NIKKI!!!, thats how you play the POCKET!!!, YES!!!! with Fire too.
Good LAWDY, man. This band got my face all scrunched up! 🔥🔥🔥I clearly need to move 😑🇨🇦> 🇺🇸
i see what you did with that > 🤣
Rob Brown I love your channel! Your lessons have helped me a lot! 😁
Nikki Glaspie you nailed it!!!! No words anymore 😶👏🏽💯 🔥 🔥 🥁
Love an artist who sits in the pocket allowing the listener to appreciate the full spectrum of sound and musicianship with out it being constantly disrupted by an over zealous drummer with chops to burn, less is definitely more, she killed it 👌
But it wasn't even less, she played in service of music: it's all about music in the end !!
Am inlove with how she plays and that she lets other musicians to shine as well
Who noticed Larnell Lewis in the audience? He saw the lady at the drums having everything under control!
About Sput : He let the drummers shine, although He is one of the best !
Yep! Larnell Lewis and Aaron Spears grooving this! Love seeing drummers support each other!
Yeah, they were all loving it. Larnell was grooving and Aaron Spears had a permanent smile on his face the whole time. I also saw Kaz near the beginning and he was playing some mean air-keyboards, haha.
These live in studio sessions are so much more enjoyable to watch than traditional events.
IF Prince was still alive and came to this event and saw this, he would be AMAZED by this
He'd be like "I just found my new touring band" and the band be like "word, Prince." followed by one of the best tours imaginable.
That is true. That's how he would be
Wow she pushes the band like there is no tomorrow! I love it!
This entire band is just incredible.
Nikki is an absolute beast and the mix is perfect 👌
They should make all these songs onto a cd. Omg i so enjoyed all the songs and musicians.
Zildjian I love you for this series while hating you because I know you recorded all of these in one day and you are making me wait months to see them all the pain is too much
I thought so too! I even went so far as to look for tickets to catch Aaron to no avail, because, of course as you said; they recorded all of these in one day.
One of the best drummers in the world
Thats just pure unadulterated fonk!! 🔥✊✊
She made everybody happy that very day even all the sax 🎷 player play with a smile behind their instruments 🎺
Yes ! That's what I've been waiting for. Someone who knows how important a straight nailing groove is.
Thank you Nikki.
She’s got great time. Just smashing that ride. Love it.
This tune is Magic! So Prince! Nikki Killed it!
The world needs more of this. It makes souls fly high.
Some heavy funk right here wow!!! Nikki destroys it!!! Loving this series!
I must have watched this like 10 times already!!! Nikki killed it!!! 🙌🏾
Got the chance to see her live. Such killing and tasty playing🔥🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
So true. Super musicall
A pure example on what great musicianship looks like
in all levels.
This was so CLEAN!!! And POWERFUL. Love it!!!!!
Stupid amount of funk in THIS one. Best sax solos Id ever heard! The alto sax player (Jonathan Mones) definitely giving me a Michael Brecker sound! Nikki straight grooved and jammed.. GEEZ Zildjian...yall on FIYA!
They killing it. Hands down
That "Good God" gets me everytime_🤣🤣🤣
Then you realise it’s all about the pocket. The grove is stellar and so much individual brilliance. ❤️✊
I don't know how you give this video a thumbs down. This band is amazing
Groove, pocket and some chops well served!!! Awesome!
Of course Nikki nailed it, but man, everytime Nathaniel Werth amazes me. He is like the perfect safety net for all these great drummers. That cowbell at 7:14 !
thomas picard he doesn't get enough props! He's always killing it
This video shows the essence of true drumming, maintaining the groove and the pocket.... 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

I'll take the complete video series of all performances by these insane musicians ! What a band !
Her patience is what killed this so good!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
What the funk?! Love her energy and feel and taste and fire. Keep on killin' it, Nikki!!!
I just watched the sickest, low down dirty stinky kick ass groove I’ve ever heard. The level everyone is playing at is stunning. The video work was on point!
I like Nikki because she is a drummer in the band not a drummer with a band.
Awesome drumming!!!! She played beyond exceptional......👏👏👏
This is probably one of if not my FAVORITE one yet
those 1/4 notes from the horns is heaven....mono neon guy is so cool as well...drummer has great pocket..band is amazing
You know you got talent when Robert Sput is on the keyboard and hands you the drums
i love the way she play the drums! So groovy and know when to take the "spotlight" and give the "spotlight" to others! The saxophone player looks like really enjoy play the music too
4:59 my dude is KILLING THAT SAXOPHONE
Yes he is!
I love it all. The band was grovin!!! Nikki stayed in the pocket and kicked the band along.
I could listen to that, aaaaall damned day! Absolutely amazing. I need this song!!!
I’m getting a “OutKast” vibe from this I absolutely love it!!! Outstanding job Nikki💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💯
Robert Sputt on Keyboard !...? What !! Sounds so shiny and classy ... ! Classy Nikki !!
Shes so locked in with the bass its insane! It reminds me of an electronic drum kit where you can program the bass line to play with every kick hit. Shout out to the baritone bass player too!

There's something to be said about watching artist making music and taking such observable pleasure in doing so.

You can actually hear him🤔🤔 listen to the background and you can that light airy noise
That rock so hard just amazing zildjian is the best
Good LAWD!!! Pocket for DAYS, and so tasteful. Mad respect!
Much respect to this woman. I respect her
How can everybody NOT be dancing in that studio???
The celebration of all these fantastic drummers and other musicians is exactly what makes this community so damn special. I love the love here. Play on eternally!
Props to Zildjian for putting superb content like this, sounds incredible, fantastic production and musicianship.
Only thing missing is Morris Day yelling out “CHILLI SAUCE”!!!🔥🔥🔥
😂 in the skillet....where's jerome?
YEEEIIISS! HAW HAW!!
😂😂😂😂
E JAY: I thought I was the only one who immediately thought Morris Day and the Time? Nikki and the Ghost Note Band was straight killin' it! ( ^ _ ^ )
I also love how much Kaz was getting into it at 2:07
Amazing pocket Mrs glaspie they say nobody does it better than a woman amazing drummer Mrs glaspie pearl the best reason why I play drums 💪🥁

Yeah, yeah! \ ( ^ _ ^ ) /
I'm so much in love with this jam...
THIS is how you play a song! Perfection. Then when she lets it fly, brilliant.
So unselfish performance! Just like her crative works for The Nth Power! Congrats Nikki Glaspie! You nailed it girl! :)
Feel good funky music this was awesome!!
Mannnn, this band's so much fun to watch. And the guest drummers are all amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
