This cannon can be summarized by saying: “The Foundation keeps going out of their depth, and can’t take a hint.” They keep making anomalous super weapons, and it’s starting to feel like they’re TRYING to accidentally make things worse. 😂
One massive hint towards the identity of the entity the weapon was trying to destroy is in the title of the file itself. After all, the item number of this "Termination Attempt" is SCP-6820. Or, in other words, SCP-682[0]. I also find it very interesting, this idea that SCP-682 is simply nothing more and nothing less than the concept of The Difference Between Life and Death.
Just in case you didn’t know this SCP is part of the Admonition series. They’re are currently 4 episodes and one intermission out in the series. My first year of discovering SCP and specifically learning about the foundation itself: wow, the foundation are amazing! the heroes! such epic courage and sacrifice! The subsequent years after discovering SCP and learning specifically about the foundation itself: hello darkness my old friend...........

Though, it really is dumb of the foundation to keep trying to kill 682. Its whole gimmick is that it strengthens after being mortally injured, so why would you try to mortally injure it?

You would be only killing a single 682 among infinite others in other universes, which are all extensions of his true form+ Universal constant and that extention you killed would eventually manifest again in your universe aslong as you and life exist. Unfortunately you can't just send 682 to space or some other dimension. It's basically conceptually linked to the planet Earth, specifically the planet Earth of its "home" reality. “motives for unconditional and universal hatred of SCP-6820-A INCONCLUSIVE NOTES: As former Project ANTIKILL Director, I feel obligated to share my anecdotal experience regarding this deeply confusing situation. To be clear: I retain all memories of working on the project, insofar as I can discern. I have grown rather accustomed to horrifying phenomena over my lengthy tenure with the Foundation, yet I distinctly recall an intense reaction to… something, on levels both administrative and personal. I recall my presence and involvement in drafting relevant documents, submitting and approving termination attempt requests, organizing increasingly involved projects, and yet, I know not the content of these events; hardly any information which would distinguish SCP-6820-A from any other item or entity has persisted, and none of it is in my head. Strikingly, all I can recall of the subject is my emotional relationship to it, which is apparently shared by all other ANTIKILL personnel: SCP-6820-A was universally perceived as loathsome, directly prejudicial to life, and "disgusting". Whatever it was, I detested it, as did my peers and, as it seems, all whom it came into contact with. Despite its erasure, these feelings have not dissipated, nor have I felt satisfaction in our "defeat" of SCP-6820-A.“ In other words, they all view SCP-682 with great hatred for whatever reason, meaning an Entity or possibly SCP-682 influenced you to hate SCP-682 and try to destroyed it. “this state is intriguing no natural laws bind this form only those of the mind my mind was incomplete I could not remember my original form not the one you know nor the one before but perfection“ The concept of SCP-682 regains it‘s ORIIGNAL FORM but 682 says it‘s not the reptila or lizard form nor is it the conceputal-maschine form but a state we have not witness yet. And whatever that state is, it is only describes as "perfection" to SCP-682. “ and so I searched for an idea to jog my memory I have found many things in the minds of greater beings than your filth a five-legged spider with a gash on its eye screaming in agony it knew what needed to be done it tried to stop the infestation and you blinded it“ The „five-legged spider“ is pretty clear, SCP-3125. However, the line of it tried to stop the INFESTATION is pretty puzzling since who the “INFESTATION“ or “IT“ is. However, the Author(s) confirmed something. The INFESTATION is related to a SCP, a SCP you reacted in fact. I leave off a little hint of the SCP; It involes the great question “Why?“ Recall that this is an alternate universe. Whatever the Deepwell Foundation did to to impair/defeat their version of 3125 is very different from what we see in There is No Antimemetics Division. They were probably much more prepared for it. “I let it ride on my back and it found the part of myself that you locked away, eons ago it tried to break the lock but could not undo your wretched mistake and we set out to take the power you had taken the life you had stolen and, in doing so you brought us the key as if by fate finally my form is whole again I am perfect finally you have proven worthy of true hatred“ There is also a footnote reading "apotheosis" which means the transformation into godhood or becoming a god. In the same way that 682 is adaptive, the 682-concept can rapidly mutate its 'form'. 6820 is designed to track these mutations and update its knowledge of the 682-concept so that it can continue to keep it out of reality and human thought. If 6820 removes its knowledge of 682, it has no way of tracking those mutations and stopping the 682-concept from re-entering the Noosphere in a new form. At the end, 682 does not actually take over reality. Rather, it becomes so incompatible with our Noosphere but at the same time so incredibly everything that it becomes it's own Noosphere, probably with some extra help from the Starfish. P.S. I can probarly tell more some things about what SCP-682 means of “perfected state“ and “original form“ and what happend to the end with SCP-682 however it is a spoiler for future entries related to the ADMONITION canon, so I don‘t C:
Spelled ‘Noosphere’, it is human-thought so it would be significantly bigger than the Realm of Chaos but smaller than the whole Immaterium. The Infosphere is probably closer to what you are looking for.
Interesting name they chose for trying to get rid of the "weapon" they made...Project Overkill. What makes it interesting is that there's really no such thing as "overkill" precisely because there *is* such a thing as "underkill." If they want to eliminate something in such an esoteric manner (on the conceptual level) then they also have to eliminate the concept of "underkill" or they are likely to fail the overall goal. (facetiously speaking) Now if anyone could follow along with what I just said there, please come back & explain it to me so I can understand it? 😁
Hey Old Man, been watching a while and you've covered a lot of really great SCPs (many of my favs). But if you're looking for some really good SCPs (IMO anyway) check out SCP 7000 the loser or Apotheosis (all parts) by the exploring series. Fair warning both are close to, if not 1h30min long.
I always thought that instead of destroying 682 put it in something like a tesseract maze from 40k, but it continually adds to itself making the exit steadily recede from the entrance then put an another type of SCP on it. A non damaging beneficial SCP like a pendant or ring that emanates a euphoric field that has a side effect of slowing the wearer down. Slow enough that the exit recedes faster than SCP 682 can move. Maybe putting another cognito affect on the ring that 682 just doesn't recognize it. Maybe that's silly.
Congratulations Old Man, you have been introduced to the most insufferable character on the wiki. On the plus side, he died a horrible death in this article.
Admonition is leagues ahead of Site 17 Deepwell. I will take a Foundation that messes up due to hubris, incompetence, and the occasional bad egg over a Foundation that is so mustache twirlingly evil they accidentally kill the concept of morality by killing too many things.
Deepwell Catalog/ADMONITION in a nutshell... Foundation: "We've made yet another god-killer eigenweapon!" Accidentally summons/creates *another* Cthulhu. Foundation: "What were we talking about? We forgot. Hell, we forgot that we forgot."
The Scarlet King would be proud of SCP-682. As for what you said you must understand Old Man Reacts this is just a article written by a SCP author who is simply writing within the setting of the SCP Mythos he understands and bulids up from what he understands. And keep in mind cosmology structure and setting heavily influences and sets in motion of a story where it's going. And the SCP Mythos cosmology is the worst, most chaotic, and uncontrolled imperfect evil and hellish cosmology ever created by modern writing. Worse then Marvel and DC. The Warhammer 40k setting despite it's suffering conditions and nature it's cosmology's chaotic creation is nothing compared to the SCP cosmology. And I grown quite weary of those types of settings and unrestrained horrors and torments. Such cosmologies are something I won't personally create. Such conditions are just heartless and lawless to me and I don't indulge in those kinds of narratives within such a horrible foundation. It would be shameful to me to bulid such a chaotic lawless cosmology setting and structure in my stories. And I won't be practicing the unrestrained narrative doctrines much anymore especially according to faith and relationship.
I'm too stupid to fully comprehend what you mean. I guess the SCP universe is too chaotic and cruel for your liking? I don't know, please explain it to me as if I'm a stupid 5 years old.
I have quite a different interpretation for this. I don't think this SCP shows you shouldn't destroy SCPs considering that the SCP foundation still wants to destroy 682, which makes sense as it could one day destroy all of humanity. I think it shows that how you go about it is very important. The SCP foundation simply messed up with every decision it made here. Instead of sending 682 into another universe like 2935 or launching it into a black hole or simply designing the machine to retain the information of what 682 is they made blunder after blunder without thinking everything through. Also if you haven't noticed this yet, this SCPs number is 682 + 0 or 682 times 10 if you will.
@@gaviantxc8213 2935 is uninhabited, the only problem would be sealing 2935 off permanently and completely from the main SCP universe and potentially other universes.
Yeah. Destroying the entity by destroying the *concept* it's a manifestation of seems like a *horrible* idea. Especially since they don't know *what* concept it is.
682 is inherently bound to the world of its version of the Foundation, it cannot be sent away. The Foundation made one tiny mistake, that is all, the machine likely would have succeeded if it removed its own memory of the anomaly.
This cannon can be summarized by saying: “The Foundation keeps going out of their depth, and can’t take a hint.” They keep making anomalous super weapons, and it’s starting to feel like they’re TRYING to accidentally make things worse. 😂

Despite its erasure, these feelings have not dissipated, nor have I felt satisfaction in our "defeat" of SCP-6820-A.“
In other words, they all view SCP-682 with great hatred for whatever reason, meaning an Entity or possibly SCP-682 influenced you to hate SCP-682 and try to destroyed it.
“this state is intriguing
no natural laws bind this form
only those of the mind
my mind was incomplete
I could not remember
my original form
not the one you know
nor the one before
but perfection“
The concept of SCP-682 regains it‘s ORIIGNAL FORM but 682 says it‘s not the reptila or lizard form nor is it the conceputal-maschine form but a state we have not witness yet.
And whatever that state is, it is only describes as "perfection" to SCP-682.
“ and so I searched
for an idea
to jog my memory
I have found many things
in the minds of greater beings
than your filth
a five-legged spider
with a gash on its eye
screaming in agony
it knew what needed to be done
it tried to stop the infestation
and you blinded it“
The „five-legged spider“ is pretty clear, SCP-3125. However, the line of it tried to stop the INFESTATION is pretty puzzling since who the “INFESTATION“ or “IT“ is. However, the Author(s) confirmed something. The INFESTATION is related to a SCP, a SCP you reacted in fact. I leave off a little hint of the SCP; It involes the great question “Why?“
Recall that this is an alternate universe. Whatever the Deepwell Foundation did to to impair/defeat their version of 3125 is very different from what we see in There is No Antimemetics Division. They were probably much more prepared for it.
“I let it ride on my back
and it found the part of myself
that you locked away, eons ago
it tried to break the lock
but could not undo
your wretched mistake
and we set out to take
the power you had taken
the life you had stolen
and, in doing so
you brought us the key
as if by fate
finally
my form is whole again
I am perfect
finally
you have proven worthy
of true hatred“
There is also a footnote reading "apotheosis" which means the transformation into godhood or becoming a god.
Thanks!
But imagine it old man, the hard to kill D-Class, they can keep killing him and traumatizing him.
Definitely one of my favourite SCP cannons (ADMONITION), just because of how *_rediculous_* the concepts in them are.
Funfact the original author of dr gears and 682 are the same author
I love how they just put a 0 behind it ;)
I love that thier are more scp reactions especially by you since your very funny
Also scp 682 is the embodiment of plot armor
The hard to kill lizard became the weapon they built happy birthday 🙈
They dun fukked up.
They threw 682 into the sun before it flew out of the sun on fire after it grew wings and destroyed their spaceship
would the "knowasphere" be the warp?
Spelled ‘Noosphere’, it is human-thought so it would be significantly bigger than the Realm of Chaos but smaller than the whole Immaterium.
The Infosphere is probably closer to what you are looking for.
They did send 682 into space... it came back.
I find it funny that ya admonish them for their termination attempts but demand they try to terminate other SCPs as this is why they usually don’t try
Jesus, they literally INVENTED A DEMON.
Hate filled lizard is friend not food for experimental reality altering super weapon of unimaginable destructive ability.
If you send 682 into space, it'll just grow wings and fly back to earth. Just like when it was launched into the sun.
1:51.... write THAT on a valentine....
The hint was in the scp number 6820
Interesting name they chose for trying to get rid of the "weapon" they made...Project Overkill. What makes it interesting is that there's really no such thing as "overkill" precisely because there *is* such a thing as "underkill." If they want to eliminate something in such an esoteric manner (on the conceptual level) then they also have to eliminate the concept of "underkill" or they are likely to fail the overall goal.
(facetiously speaking) Now if anyone could follow along with what I just said there, please come back & explain it to me so I can understand it? 😁
Welp time to bring back 2935. This whole universe needs to die on a hyper conceptual level.
Who?
@@lightninghawk1014 Placeholder McDoctorate
@@BaronVonEntenteichwhat about him is insufferable? From the articles I’ve read with him in it I found him endearing.
@@leonciopalacpac9269 he probably personal dislike the character
Unless i misinterpreted something because it's a [ EXPLETIVE LANGUAGE] comment
Also this is an alternate version of Placeholder Mcdoctorate. Also he did not died in this article. He escaped.
No more information
Oof, admonition
Yeah, Site-17 deepwell is a rough canon
Admonition is leagues ahead of Site 17 Deepwell. I will take a Foundation that messes up due to hubris, incompetence, and the occasional bad egg over a Foundation that is so mustache twirlingly evil they accidentally kill the concept of morality by killing too many things.
Deepwell Catalog/ADMONITION in a nutshell...
Foundation: "We've made yet another god-killer eigenweapon!"
Accidentally summons/creates *another* Cthulhu.
Foundation: "What were we talking about? We forgot. Hell, we forgot that we forgot."
@@JaxMerrickso trve...
@@ae-vm6ie Kinda got old after the third or fourth time.
@@JaxMerrick so trve...
(6747 is brainrot)
The biggest problem is that the Foundation should not have decommisioned the eigenweapon.
They turn 682 in khorn and tzeench baby
You can choose to believe in a better version of the cosmology, there is no canon.
The already tried sending it to another universe. It came back with a note from the other universe saying have it back.
Would say say 6820 to be very op untill you read the chinese branch of the scp foundation: 💀💀💀💀
