    Also one of my first mechanics and addiciton-starter. Was really lucky to get in on the height of the hype as a 'J1'-version for under 100. Still enjoy it (mostly as my dresswatch) on a nice leather, that costs haft the price of the watch - also I'm thinking about given it sapphire. The hardlex has no scratches (none of my Seikos have and I wear them alot AND I'm clumsy ;) ) but I would love to have a double-dome on this, so.

      @NordicWatchChannel  3 года назад

      Double dome could look great! That would be interesting. These were gone for a while but seems that they are back on the market for less than 100 dollars here and there!

    • @NordicWatchChannel

      And yeah, hardlex does not scratch as easily as people think :)

    I just bought mine yesterday and has under the cristal like a lithe piece of cotton filament but it's not very noticeable, but overall it's the most classy and formal Seiko 5 not a doubt

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  2 года назад

      Bummer to hear that! These Seikos don’t have great quality control. Good thing that it doesn’t bother you too much! This model is definitely one of the most classy! I do prefer the SNKL41, however :)

    This is a Great looking watch. I'm not a fan of metal bracelets. After market watch straps is the Second Arena for the watch hobby. Thanks for posting this video.

    Great for the price no doubt, this one was a little small for me (ended up with the Sary057) but the sheer range of designs, styles and sizes in that older Seiko 5 line was brilliant. I still try to find hidden gems from that collection from time to time

    Very good reviews! I wonder if the SNKL41 bracelet is worth it ... The only thing that doesn't convince me is the SNK23 bracelet.

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  4 года назад +2

      Thank you! Have you watched the SNKL41 review? I would say that it's better than the one on the SNKL23. The oyster-style is probably easier to make in an OK quality for less money than a jubilee-style like on the SNKL23.. My gf always uses the SNKL41 on the original bracelet.

    • @NordicWatchChannel

      No the lugs on the watches are different. So you would have to make something custom yourself.

    If I see your video before I dont by this watch.the watch is amazing but huge gape when put the leather strap .now I use only in bracelet.

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  3 года назад +1

      Haha, I know!! Sorry for helping you notice that😂 But hey you can use something like nato straps or single pass suede/leather or something! With those you won’t see the gap either.

    Don’t recommend to replace the bracelet, it is the DNA of the vintage Seiko 5 , enjoy it

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  2 года назад

      Haha you have a point! It is part of the package. Maybe if you want to experience the watch as something else than a Seiko 5. If you replace the bracelet, at least save it and don’t throw it away!

    @kelvintan2629 4 года назад +1

    Yeah.. Those lug issue was also a downside to me..but i was lucky that able to find the aftermarket jubilee bracelet for this guy.. I keep the original endlinks which able to match with the new jubilee bracelet. Nice watch and keep a good time around +2sec / - 2sec per day.

    • @NordicWatchChannel

      Cool! I bet it looks great on an aftermarket jubilee!

    • @kelvintan2629
      @kelvintan2629 4 года назад +1

      Yes.. It does! Was fit it on the 20mm bracelet since the endlinks are still the original 18mm..make the watches even more balance to the dial.

      I always try to reply! It’s hard to recall, but I would say yes it should have a protective film on both when you buy it new.

    Do you know if I am going to need some kind of tool to remove that bracelet and put on a nice leather strap? Can I also ask where you got that black leather strap?

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  4 года назад +1

      It helps to have a tool but usually you can pull it off with some small pointy thing that you find around the house.. might be tricky tho. The leather strap is from Hirsch! Got it from a brick and mortar store but should be easy to find online :)

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  3 года назад

      Definitely yes. Everyone was sure that this watch was already discontinued and I think it is? My understanding is that the ones being sold now are old stock and Seiko is not making the SNKL23 anymore. But I’m not 100% sure. Check out Long Island Watch’s video on the topic, I think Marc made a video about this.

    Why does it say "LUN" on the calender face at the start?

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  3 года назад +1

      Many entry-level Seiko movements (the 7s26 in this case) have two languages on their day-wheels. In this case the languages are English and Spanish. LUN stands for Lunes, which is Spanish for Monday :)

      @davidsonviray1403 4 года назад +1

      Nordic Watch Channel i see, is one last thing do you think all seiko watches are made of stainless steel?

    • @NordicWatchChannel
      @NordicWatchChannel  4 года назад +1

      Most of their watches are, yes. But some are made of titanium for example, but that is always stated separately. But if nothing else is informed, then the watch is most likely made out of 316L stainless steel. It is pretty much the industry standard.
