This is amazing, thank you! How do I ensure I get keycaps that retain the click and not give me the muted 'clocky' sound? Best types of materials/brands would be great, thanks!
None of these can even come close to the nice, full sound of Alps. It's a bit of a shame, many things have gotten much better and certainly linear switches are good these days. Just tactile and clicky have been left behind, in my opinion.
Wow. I was getting ready to buy pale blue, navy or jade, then sherbet came on. Sounds the same as white to my ear, and both of those sound far better than the three I was considering. I need to do some reading on these now. THANKS!
In the end did you buy the sherbets? I'm interested in trying them, but only if the tactility feels nice. I don't really like how box clickies have all the tactility at the top and there is no feeling of resistance ramping up until the click.
Every switches have a different sound signature that fit someone preference! Have you tried Gateron Blues? They are very similar to mx blues but are a bit cleaner and sharper! Happy you like it! :)
Great video, good job indeed... I have Navy's on my Cherry G80-1000 and i love them. For me, far better than clicky jacket option: Cherry style (blue or green).
This was so helpful! I love clicky switches, but I feel like they’re not well represented in keyboard videos, so I was happy to find this. And it’s so comprehensive that now I know I’m interested in many Kailh switches, especially Kailh BOX Jades. Thank you!!
Tbh, yea some sound a tadbit better than others like box jade, navy and whites. But imo, people are gonna hate to admit this but the difference are negligible and overexaggerated by the community
The difference you don't see, and don't feel is the sharp tactile bump generated by the click bar which is what makes the kailh box switches so awesome, not just the sound. This video doesn't address that at all and if you had a box jade and a cherry blue switch side by side you would see there's a huge difference.
Another thing inherent to the clickbar design is that it also clicks on the way back up, which may be a good or bad thing depending on preference. Also, the "BOX" design is supposedly more water and dust resistant, but I haven't looked into this or tested it myself.
I have a question right, if I were to get some kailh switches and clip the stems, would they fit a pre-built Gk61? (pretty new around the keyboard community don't clown me)
No bad questions, we all start at the same place!! I don’t see why it would not fit. BUT there is an exception. Some GK61 use Gateron OPTICAL switches, these pcb are not compatible with other regular Mx type switches (like Kailh). Just make sure the keyboard you buy use regular Gateron switches, not optical!
This is the sound comparison I needed. The box pinks hit right in both keyboards. I wish there was an easy way to compare the feel of all of these switches as well.

They certainly much crisper and smoother than others click jacket switches (like cherry Mx Blue or Kailh Pro light green) but they are not as smooth than a light click bar switch like Kailh speed bronze! But it is a personal preference!
My favorite clicky isn’t technically a clicky switch, it’s actually worn-in BOX Royals. They turn clicky after about a month of regular even usage because the grease on the contact leaf spring dries out.
I think you should try to use a lighter typing technique. If you keep bottoming out, all the switches will end up sounding almost the same. Maybe you could use less wrist extension to get better results?
Box jade and navy sounds very similar...very nice. Kaihl bronze and white sound deeper though. How does one choose between these, do they feel different? Does the clicky feel and sound remain the same orver time? Or does it get worn out with use? Thanks.
