Awesome tip! About the part where you use a constraint to copy the rotation from the empty to the ring, I've been using this super useful addon called "Interface: Copy Attributes Menu". It's free and integrated in Blender, it just needs to be activated. Then there's just to select the ring, then the empty, CTRL-C and pick "Copy Rotation". It's not much but it saves a few clicks too! Thank you again for your videos, they've really helped me improve my modeling.

very good tip. You may also select ring first, select arrow as active, and under the rotation panel clicks on any axis choosing copy all to selected. Best regards. Subscribed of course :)

you can try useing the shrinkwrap object constrain and set the snaping to "normal". maby this works, then you would not to add the arrows one by one... i ll try out this method and let you know if it is working like i said.

Very nice. This will save me many a headache.

I did this by filling the hole with grid fill to get an edge down the middle. Then used face project snapping with align rotation on to place the object on the face. To center it i switched to edge center snapping with align rotation off. If you need to move it in or out you can set transform to use normals instead of global.
No need to use separate objects and constraints.
Not sure if theres a better way to align multiple objects at the same time to different normals in Blender, which would make this less manual, but there's probably an addon for it though.

exactly, using local or normal axis is much better than this

After you filled a hole with a face, make separating by selection. So yo will have a standalone face. Then go to Object Data Properties of this face and change Mesh Data to your eyelet Mesh Data. No need to duplicate eyelets.

Nice tutorial, though it's unfortunate that it had to be made.
Sometimes Blender is brilliant, sometimes not. What a stupid way of doing things, I swear this could be trivialized, hopefully in a future update.
