Landscape Photography | Three Shires Head Waterfall | Peak district

- Today I visited the amazing three shires heads waterfall in the peak district. It was a fantastic day weather-wise and I managed to capture a couple of landscape photographs that I was really pleased with. Landscape photography in the peak district is always a pleasure and a great place to walk and explore in an environment that is so different to where I live. It takes me about 2 hours to reach the edge of the park by car, so its an ideal place for me to visit on a fairly regular basis.
I am off to Snowdonia very soon, so look out for more landscape photography vlogs.
The whole video was shot on the fuji xt2 and mavic air.
It still amazes me how capable the fuji xt2 is for video use and very underrated I feel in this area.

Cracking vlog. Have subbed. Looking forward to more content
Mark Hazelton Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much for the sub. Just returned from snowdonia so lots more coming very soon 👍 ☺
Good work Ian. I did this exact walk and location last week...Not the easiest of walks there or back! Next time, I'll park up by that chimney on the road.
Michael Allberry Thanks Michael, yes it's a splendid walk with lots to explore. Glad you enjoyed it too. 👍 thanks for watching ☺
Great video Ian, being new to photography, I have learnt so much this past six months watching all your vids!
Quality vlog, Ian. Very informative. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Think my favourite was the lone tree shot. Worth it even though you had to deal with the dead sheep.
Greig Reid Thank you so much greig, really appreciate your comments. It sure was a fun experience contending with the dead sheep. 👍 ☺
Great video mate and lovely images! Such a great place to photograph!
Joe Turner Thanks Joe, it sure is a great spot. Quite a challenge to photograph too, which is always nice. ☺👍
What do you have printer in backpack,,,,, lol! What a beautiful area saw many vlogs from that location, lovely walk increased with beautiful music + stinky sheep (poor fella) = very nice, excellent work my friend! Great B&W!
Thanks Verdon, That would be a great idea lol, it certainly was a lovely walk , it really felt like spring, unfortunately its rained ever since :) Thanks again for your time and support buddy :)
Well done Ian just gets better and better!! cept for the dead sheep Ha Ha
Really enjoying the XT-2 the images are brilliant glad I made the switch
Jim
Thanks Jim, Thanks for watching, yeah the dead sheep was pretty grim :) glad you are also enjoying your x-t2
Very nice. Kinda wish you'd shown the sheep :-) loved the portrait lone tree image. Thanks very much for plugging the group
John Haswell Photography I think he should have shown the sheep as well! 😄🐑
Yeah, I was in 2 minds John, There is one at 2.04 at the bottom of the waterfall though if you want to check that one out :) Thanks again for the comments
Beautifully filmed Ian, loved the shot at 9.31
Craig Prentis Thanks Craig, glad you liked it. It certainly is a stunning place. Nice to get some spring like weather too. 👍 ☺
excellent location and great images
Thank you so much, Really glad you enjoyed it :)
Great video!
Really well put together video, definitely put the bar high for the rest of us from the Landscape photography on RUclips UK group.
The exploring photographer - Jacques le Roux Thanks Jacques, really appreciate your kind words. Looking forward to checking out all of the new members of the Facebook group. So many have joined in the last couple of days. Thanks again ☺👍
Very stunning, Ian!
Thanks Matt, much appreciated. :)
Great work Ian. I like the image after the panoramic shot better.
Daniel Cabral thanks Daniel, I think it is easier on the eye. Not so much going on. The pano seems a little busy to me. I actually think the pano looked better in colour. Thanks again for your time and feedback. 👍 ☺
I liked the shot at 11:08. You cinematography is superb loving all the video and editing. Thanks for brining this one to my attention. I have been watching a ton of vlogs while I had the FLU but so glad you brought this one to my attention.
Mark Bowering Photography Thanks Mark, really glad you enjoyed it. I hope you are feeling better and thanks for subscribing I really appreciate it ☺ 👍
Totally agree on the BW preview. Helps a lot! Loads of good images today ian, you got a good eye. If I had to choose one, I think I would go with the first. Had a majestic feel to it. Take care!
oddbjørn austevik foto. Thanks Oddbjorn, yeah I think it was my favorite as well. Thanks for your time, it's really appreciated. ☺👍
Very enjoyable and well filmed vlog Ian. Look forward to more so have subbed!
Thank you, really appreciate your time and subscription :)
Great episode Ian, hard to pick a fab image , but the last two jump at me
Thanks for the feature on the end screen
Thanks Darren, appreciate it, really enjoying your channel too.
Wow great vid Ian 👍👍
Thanks honey. X
Hi Ian, loved the first image and the black and white worked really well. Already made note of the locations, and have a significant advantage over you.....I have a map! lol!
Scott Tilley Landscape Photography Thanks Scott, yeah won't be making that mistake again. Walking back was more difficult as it was nearly dark when I returned to my car. Thanks for the comment and your time. 👍
Really good vid, I hope to visit the area tomorrow and really like your comps, so may pinch them, and for me I preferred the non panoramic shot, how they are all really good
Thanks so much 👍
Really enjoyed Ian. Loved the walk up and b roll, makes a real story of the whole vlog. Raising the quality and brilliant shots. Dead sheep 😳 shot 6:33 Fabtastic. 12:27 my fav! Wow love this shot Ian 😁👍
Thanks Mali, really appreciate your time and feedback. Yeah the dead sheep was pretty grim but worth it though, thanks again bud :)
ian, anytime some big inspiration.
Fab video Ian. Never managed down to the Peak District.... yet. Hopefully soon. I like the way you had your mind set on B&W images so you visualise what would work and what wouldn't.
Thanks Stuart. It is a lovely part of the world, does get busy in the summer though. Yeah, I really like to visualize a black and white before I take the shot. I find it very rewarding. Thanks again for your time and comments. :)
Hi Ian, enjoyed the video. I like the penultimate shot with no sky; I think a bland sky can dilute the quality of an image at this location.
Steve Ball Thanks steve, yeah!! glad you liked it. Always nice to get some shots closer in. It has quite alot going on and can look a little busy with the wider shots. 👍

I did like the panoramic👍👍 It can be tough to,shoot those with filters on. Nice job with both images. Some lovely contrast and I think black and white and water go hand in hand. Peak District is another location on my list:) Thanks for sharing.
Diego McCartney Thanks Diego, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the pano was quite difficult to get right. It wasn't my favorite from the images I took but enjoyable none the less. Thanks again buddy. 👍
Excellent vlog Ian - I've just figured out how to watch vlogs on the big screen via Apple TV and yours was the first and it looked great 😀 Loved the double waterfall pano - that was def my favourite although all were great shots!
Jamie Overland Thanks Jamie, glad you liked it. I've never watched any on the TV so I'm glad it came out good for you. When I can get the kids off the Xbox I will give it a go. Thanks again for your time ☺👍
Nice production Ian. To come away with a printed pdf which wasn’t readable is just not acceptable.😬 The fact that you got within a foot of a dead sheep is worthy of a medal. Lovely smooth b roll. Of all the shots, the very last 2 were my favs. Of the wider scene, I prefer the portrait. I just felt the waterfalls in the pano were a bit lost and didn’t have much impact in the composition. You really showcased the location very well and well narrated throughout. Good work Ian 😬👍
James R Burns Cheers bud. Really appreciate your time and feedback. My pick was the first shot with the dead sheep. Totaly know what you mean about the pano. Sometimes trying to get everything in makes you loose more. Off to Snowdonia next week and have my os maps at the ready. ☺ Thanks again 👍
ian worth Be prepared and be safe! I must visit there this year
Some nice images there Ian, surely in with a chance this month. Has the winner been announced? Met up with Tom Peters yesterday, surely he can't win again can he?
Chris Sale Not sure Chris, to be honest I find them super fun to do, so not to bothered about winning. Glad you liked it. Thanks for your time buddy. 👍☺
Lovely picture of your video.. what mic and camera you use? Pls see my new video
Thanks Senja, glad you liked it. I'm currently using the fuji x-t2 with the rode video micro. The mic does a pretty decent job as long as you are directly in front of it as its a directional mic. Thanks again :)
