they sure bored me to death ..especially Monae who's whole existence seems to be a never ending ego bath. It's quite off putting.

Austin asked her such thoughtful questions. You can feel his respect and genuine interest in her.
Yes, he was so deep in his questions. Its possible see how she likes the questions.

Can we take a minute to acknowledge the deliciousness of Austin butler's voice? My heart fluttered every time he spoke
I am mesmized by him, his voice, his luscious lips, his beautiful hands I could go on and on I adore him. He better win the Oscar or there will be riots.

Smooth like butter 😍
Two of the nicest people. Met Austin at an industry screening of ‘Elvis’ and said I had been a fan since ‘switched at birth’ because I’m disabled. He was so kind and when I saw him at another event a few weeks later, he jumped off stage just to say hi to me. Janelle was the only actress at a glass onion screening to come over.
That's so sweet of him 🥺
Really sweet. I imagine it's hard remembering every fan you have an encounter with but people who make an impression on you to show you how you've helped them overcome a struggle stays with you if they care
Aw that’s so sweet he felt bad for you and said hi. I feel like most wouldn’t care. So sweet!

@@pluto8031 I think that there are a lot of actors that are genuinely down to earth like these two. There are those that are a little full of themselves, granted. But I do feel like maybe some actors are so busy they don't always have the time to be nice to people.
It's official, I need a movie with them together.
I'm ready for that, please!

He looks at her with such admiration like he’s an honest fan, it might just be that charming smile of his though
His dancing in public at her Coachella gig sounded like a BIG deal to him.
Austin Butler was my first ever on screen crush, after I saw him in Zoey 101. It is so insane that we get to witness these former child actors like Austin and Zendaya transforming into acclaimed Hollywood stars. I feel like I’ve grown up with them 😢
It's amazing how he's basically a C-list actor in Nickelodeon and Disney Channel shows as his appearance was mostly just guest star or supporting then suddenly he just shows up and play Elvis. What a remarkable career
Sameeeeee omg ❤❤❤
I think they just really like each other and there is that spark. cute.

He’s going to be in the Dune sequel as well….
Austin always mentions being shy and awkward and yet he always looks so relaxed and at ease. I need to know his secret!
I have this same thought every time I come across an interview of his!
He says in many interviews that he has tools now to deal with his shyness which he learnt while working and through acting classes. That’s how he deals with it. It’s inspirational as he consistently put in the work to improve himself and didn’t let his shy nature be a hurdle in his success. He also says he isn’t shy when he’s portraying someone else so that way he can act as an extrovert even though he isn’t.
He has a bunch of tools he utilises. I recall an interview where he says “you can’t be other conscious and self conscious at the same time” so by focusing on the other person he takes the anxiety off himself
@@jamjar5525 Yeah i've heard that focusing on the other person thing as a tool alright and i think it does help.
@@user-crxfmuf Definitely is inspirational. I've been working on my anxiety / social anxiety / shyness for almost 3 years now and I definitely notice a big difference in myself. Not gonna be gettin up acting anytime soon but i might push myself to do karaoke at my friends wedding that's coming up!
It’s so incredible hearing Janelle’a thoughts on Elvis and the importance of acknowledging black musicians being the originals, they’re always so eloquent and wise I love her 😭 and Austin too he’s amazing and seems so genuine 😭😭😭
Lol. Black ppl think they invented everything. They're the only race that make everything about themself and their skin color and want to be praised and credited for literally everything.
@@ViralVideos-pr2oi Well I mean historically yeah black people and our culture have influenced a lot things. Not to mention we all originate from Africa so yeah...
The God Mother of Rockin Roll gave Elvis magical powers of it's music to become a the King 👑
For the record Elvis' version of hound dog had nothing to do with big moma Thornton's original. He heard a group sing it on stage in Vegas called Freddie Bell and the Bell boys and asked them if they minded if he recorded it, which is why Elvis' version of hound dog sounds nothing like big moma Thornton's original, it even has different lyrics! Listen to Freddie and the bellboys version on utube and see the similarities between their's and Elvis'. There you go FACT of the day. BTW many artists sang hound dog before Elvis did but that doesn't suit this narrative of Elvis owes everything to black music also the movie had to pander to this narrative to get any chance at award season even if it means giving out false info.
Cringe
His voice is so soothing. I could listen to him all day long.

Was it just me or was the chemistry between Janelle and Austin like flowing lava. This was giving me strong sensual vibes, I felt like Austin was really vibing off Janelle and she reciprocated! They’d make a really gorgeous couple.👍🏾👍🏽🤟🏼👌🏾👀
She always wears the most unusual outfits. This outfit and earrings are amazing. I feel like this is the first AoA session where both actors are actually listening to what the other person is saying and not talking over each other or interrupting each other all the time. His charisma oozes from the screen.
I believe its Schaparelli
She STUNS in Schiaparelli
Yes this is the first AoA i've watched since Jared and Amanda because I stopped that one halfway through because Jared kept interrupting Amanda. This is a good makeup for that one.
Nah chill out.
Colin Farrell and Jamie Lee Curtis had a great one as well.
Michelle Yeoh and Cate Blanchett also!
I do love that Janelle is leaning in to him, she’s invested. And also, the chemistry is undeniable…get them in a film together.
OK, Austin and Janelle need to do a movie together.

He seems truly engaged in the conversation with her and very humble. She too is enjoying their time together. I'd say they respect eachother a lot from seeing this.

Such great singers but sadly so forgotten.

This interview was amazing. You could tell they were both comfortable with eachother and they were each invested in what the other had to say. The questions were on point, the chemistry was there (I felt like they were on a date lowkey lol so much chemistry) it was nice hearing about their personal journeys with acting, relationships with their directors and how they prepare for roles. he is such a sponge, u can tell he really listens and absorbs information. he will only get better and go so much farther in his career this way. he will be tom cruise brad pitt status 🔥

I totally agree! Austin is gonna go faaar in his career
The fact Denzel vouched for Austin is crazy
Crazy that his voice still sounds somewhat like Elvis. The vocal training must have been really intense
Or he realised it sounds awesome. Gosling did the same thing with his New York accent
It’s now his flirting voice
I think he could be hoarse from all the interviews he's been doing since may.
I really wish people would stop obsessing over his voice. Please look at videos of him pre-Elvis like in The Carrie diaries, his voice is still the same. He's also 31 years old now.
He sound fine as hell 😍
Being a black woman born in 92, gotta admit I didn't know jack about Elvis. I finally watched the filmed and it blew me away. Anything I did, hear or thought i knew was wrong. I am glad I took the time to watch the film, it was phenomenal!!! Austin was phenomenal!! What a beautiful tribute to Elvis!!! Always great to see my girl Janelle, in any and everything :) !!!!
This is one fine ass interview, and I’m not talking about the conversation.
Such obvious mutual respect, genuine interest, and chemistry between these 2... we need them acting in a project together! 🙌
*What an interesting duo that I never thought I needed. Both underrated from the start but great actors.*

The chemistry is magical here. I would love to see them in a movie together as partners or love interests. Just something lol I’m obsessed with the vibe
The chemistry coming from these two are off the chart!! They HAVE to do a movie together!
Austin Butler is strangely very charming lol dont know what it is about him but cant help but like the guy
I don't think it's strange at all. He seems a very calm and soothing presence and he's also very present and interested in the conversation.
Austin has **THE** coolest and most soothing voice of anyone working in Hollywood right now. He exudes the same cool that Elvis himself did.
His voice is also kinda reminiscent of Johnny Depp..unless Johnny Depp was copying Elvis' voice..
Their energy/ chemistry. Even if that was amazing acting, they need a movie together.
I love how he's really listening and understanding her
I also loved that Janelle mentioned that she had to find her own style in music as an entertainer. She’s definitely Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill and Prince in one, she’s such a class act and a talented musician ❤
Don't insult those musical legends again
@@Jtve737 lol
yeah let's insult Wonder, Hill and Prince in one fell swoop. As if she's really that big of a star, composer or musician. Come on now. This is just that special brand of super rabid fandom. And they wonder why people say this level of illogical 'sucking up' is for children and the child-like.

LOVEEEEE Janelle Monae. Also, i'm rooting for Austin. He's campaigning so hard for that Oscar and I wouldn't have it any other way. He gave the performance of a lifetime as Elvis. Hats off to the producers of Actors on Actors for putting them together.
I'd really like to get a part 2 of this conversation where they speak about spirituality, gender, music and insecurity.

this interview is so amazing i remember watching it a few months after elvis came out I love it
Janelle Monáe has been part of my journey for a lot of years. It was really great to hear some of the depth of her experiences and processes. I didn't know of Austin Butler until the Elvis movie. One of the comments Ms. Monáe made about the artists and souls that influenced Elvis the person was definitely evident in that movie. Also, the movie didn't focus so much on the soap opera life portrayed in media as I was growing up but, rather, the choices Elvis had to make. I didn't think I'd ever dislike a Tom Hanks character. Watching this film, I did. That was heartbreaking. So was Elvis's life.
Janelle Monae is so pretty 😍
Austin Butler was so incredible playing Elvis. He captured his voice, presence, and mannerisms perfectly. I hope he will get an Oscars nomination for Best Actor this year! Austin is also very sexy too.
Does Austin Butler talk like this ?!! Geez what a voice .. Janelle is stunning and intelligent ❤
