Update: I got stucked to 24h2 build 26100.2033. always get update failed, and now it wants me to perform Windows Repair but get stopped since im using unsupported hardware. Downloaded a newer 24h2 build and did this again, still works!
Followed this video after downloading the Windows 11 24H2 ISO. Mounted it. Easy to follow instructions. Worked like a charm. Memory integrity isolation was turned on again after the installation completed. But this caused the HWINFO64.sys driver warning to reappear. Switched off the memory integrity isolation in Windows Security settings. PC working well. No errors in the installation process. Thank you so much. Much appreciated. 😊
Glad it worked, but your comment shows that on UNSUPPORTED hardware everyone is going to have different experiences installing the update, because.... the PC is already not supported.

Everyone's experiences will be different as this is a risk we take in upgrading on unsupported hardware. Sometimes, it works fine. Sometimes, there will be issues. I've just upgraded an old 2011 iMac (Sandybridge Core i7 2600S) and an ancient HP 2740p laptop which has a first generation Core i7 processor (620M), the ones that came out straight after Core 2 processors and prior to the Sandybridge chips. Both have their drives formatted in MBR mode because neither support UEFI. They're now running 24H2 without any issues, upgraded from 23H2 with the latest updates.
Howdy. I feel I should tell. I believe the computer must have UEFI startup. My laptop is old. It has BIOS Legacy startup. When rebooting the install rolled back to the previous system. 23H2 worked though. Regards.

When talking about unsupported PCs, nothing is guaranteed... You already know your PC isn't compatible. You will still UEFI, old TPM 1.2, and popcnt instruction in the cpu
It worked fine on one 12 year old computer but a few issues on another 12 year old one. It hung on the second boot at the setup.exe... with the error 0xC1900101 - 0x40017 "second boot phase". Google (a lot) one post and confirmed by another the virtual technology bios thingey you need for WSA was the cause. Reverted back to switching it off, rather than enabled in the Bios went onto the end. No issues so that was the cause of that error for me. The cumulative update then played up on this computer. Installed it via the KB msi and that was fine. Hoping it's now settled down on updates. We'll see tomorrow. For me the short answer is on old hardware you'll have to stop using WSA sooner than latter. I un installed it on that and it deleted all the associated apps.

You're unlikely to loose updates, but the possibility may always be there for obvious reasons. You should stay on Windows 10 as much as you can, and then think about it, once Window 10 retires next year.
You can use the ISO files and mount it to the VM as virtual drive. You don't need to create an unsupported media, because the hypervisor has a virtual TPM you can use.
So ... MS says that the hardware isn't supported on Windows 11 but you could still upgrade. So MS is lying right? Or how would you explain this? But it would be a shame to go through this upgrade and that MS will still block future updates.

Just use the installer of 24H2 and it'll apply the cumulative updates. I always do that to upgrade the builds of Windows if it doesn't come on Windows update. It keeps all your info too.
its going to give lots of popcnt instructions errors if installed on unsupported computers. Have the people who installed it on u unsupported hardware have received popcnt and other errors? Thanks.
Windows 11, especially 24H2, won't work without the SSE4.2 instruction set support that also includes the “POPCNT” (Population Count) instruction. The unsupported methods to install the OS are meant for PCs that are compatible with Windows 10, but they're not compatible with Windows 11. If it's hanging on the second boot at installation it may be you need to turn the virtual stuff off in the bios you may have turned on for WSA. That was my issue with the error 0xC1900101 - 0x40017 "second boot phase".
Nope. It works on unsupported hardware with popcnt. It's a known fact that the popcnt requirement is here to stay, but that should only very very old CPUs, not very old CPUs.
@@Pureinfotech I tried this on i5-7200U from Windows 11 22H2 build but once the installation was completed... my PC restarted successfully and reverted all the changes back to 22H2 :( Now official stable 24H2 has been released. Shall I try again or Is it something to do with the popcnt requirement?
@@gazzy01 I would vote against trying again. In my experience, even if your PC is Ok, you may encounter other issues because changes are done during the first try. I would make sure the PC is compatible, and then I would try a clean installation instead. Thanks,

I'm qualified for other min requirements like TPM 2.0 and secure boot enabled on my laptop, but I'm on i5-7200U anything below an 8th gen processor isn't officially supported for Windows 11 installation. Although I haven't faced any issues in past two years on 22H2. I wonder if there is any way to upgrade from 22H2 to 24H2 without the need for a clean ISO install. Thanks

i did it in1 min on my old pc running 23h2,,, this video is too long,, with my usb i created of 24h2 inserted open cmd as admin, change to drive letter of usb,, D: in my case,, then type setup.exe /product server and enter ,, thats it,, the guy in this vid is annoying opening up terminal to get to cmd,, wtf,

Great guide! I'm running Windows 24H2 on an old Dell Latitude E6530 from 2012! 23H2 ran great and is super responsive and stable.

My windows stopped getting new build updates on windows 21H2 and I don't know the reason.

I tried his method 4 TIMES!!! and didn't work, never again. Had to go back to 23H2 where everything works well.
