This is caused by an issue in FlyBy11 when the user name of the Windows Account has a space in it. To fix this error:
Please create a directory named FlyBy11 in main root folder of your C: drive. For example C:\FlyBy11
Extract the files and Upgradier folder from the FlyBy11 archive into the C:\FlyBy11 folder.
Navigate to that folder from your WIndows desktop, and double click the FlyBy11 executable file.

@BeYourOwnNerd This is awesome! Your videos are so clear and easy to understand. I haven't done the upgrade yet because (as you recommended) I'm going to do an image backup of my drive first. I'm planning to use the last free version of Macrium Reflect that was available for that.
I may be wrong on this, but it looks to me like the current version of the script (Flyby11 0.17) has resolved that Error 502 (ISO download error) as well as the "Gateway Not Valid" error. Is that correct?
Thanks so much. I'm subscribed to your RUclips Channel and look forward to viewing more of your videos!

Thanks for the nice comment, and thanks for subscribing to my channel. I appreciate it. 🙂 Yes, Macrium Reflect (the last free version) is perfect for imaging your system.
Yes, it appears that FlyBy11 has fixed the 502 and Gateway error with v0.17. Thanks for pointing that out.
There are two other issues that my viewers have commented about:
      github.com/builtbybel/Flyby11/issues/39
      github.com/builtbybel/Flyby11/issues/41
Issue 39 (where Microsoft blocks you from downloading the Windows 11 ISO file by giving you a scary popup message that you are banned/blocked), can be fixed by waiting 6+ hours if you get that popup message and starting Flyby11 again.
Issue 41 concerns the failure to mount the Windows 11 ISO after downloading it. Two viewers have reported this issue, but I have not seen it myself. Hopefully, the developer of FlyBy11 will fix it soon, but I wanted to make you aware of it in case you run into either issue.

Hello, thank you for your work which is most helpful. I have followed your earlier video and installed Windows 11 on my PC, but tried the same method on my Toshiba Satellite Pro P200 -1JV which went smoothly up to the end, when a quick failure message appeared an disappeared within a second (too quick to read) I am guessing it was a fail message) it was black writing with a yellow background. Now when I press the power up button a blue light shows on the front edge of the key board, which is normal, but within a couple of seconds it goes out. I have tried removing battery and power and holding he power button for a while and reboot but with now effect. Do you have any suggestions please.

    • @BeYourOwnNerd
      @BeYourOwnNerd  Месяц назад

Let's try to see if we can get your Toshiba into recovery mode so we can try to restore your Windows 10 version. Please try this:
You are going to power cycle multiple times to trigger the recovery options:
Turn on your computer and immediately press and hold the power button as soon as the manufacturer logo appears. The computer should shutoff.
Repeat this process 3 times. On the fourth startup, do NOT press the power button and you should see the Recovery Mode menu.
      Once in Recovery Mode goto:
Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Go back to the previous version.
      Follow the on-screen instructions.
You'll be asked to confirm that you want to return to Windows 10.
If prompted, provide your Windows account credentials.
Please let me know if this works for you.

Can you upgrade a Windows 10 computer with this method while keeping all installed programs and documents? How to check your old pc is SSE4.2 compliant?

    • @BeYourOwnNerd

To check if your processor is SSE4.2 compliant, you can do the following:
Download and Install CPU-Z: Go to the official CPU-Z website: www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Run CPU-Z: Open CPU-Z after installation.
Check Instructions: Go to the "Instructions" section under the "CPU" tab.

You're welcome. 🙂 As for it telling you your processor is not supported, this is a recent change that Microsoft implemented with the latest Windows 11 24H2. @BeYourOwnNerd no worries! It is an old surface book 9 I think. I appreciate you even taking the time out of your day to respond. People like you keep me hopeful for society.
Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 10 come October 25th 2025 correct? I'm a bit of a computer tech novice but would that mean the only way to run windows 10 would be through a VM? Would I still be able to use this laptop come October?

    • @BeYourOwnNerd
      @BeYourOwnNerd  Месяц назад +1

@@JelliMouse Thanks for the kind words. 🙂 You have a couple of choices to choose from come October 2025:
      1. You can keep using Windows 10 without security updates (which I don't recommend if your computer is connected to the Internet).
      2. You can pay Microsoft a $30 one-time fee to get security updates from Oct 2025 to Oct 2026 (this will give you an extra year with Windows 10).
      3. You would need to buy a new computer.
As for your VM question, you could run Windows 10 as a virtual machine, but you would still need a new system to run it on. And if you purchased a new computer to do that, you would be better off just using Windows 11 and forgoing Windows 10 as a virtual machine on your new system (unless you had a specific requirement that you still need to run Windows 10, for example, an older piece of software that won't run on Windows 11, etc). I hope that answered your questions. 🙂

No. That error means that Microsoft temporarily blocked your IP address from downloading from their servers hosting the Windows 11 ISO files. Please wait 6+ hours and then try again. Also, if you have a VPN, turn it off. Microsoft does not allow Windows ISO files to be downloaded with an active VPN connection turned on. Also, make sure you image (backup) your system before attempting this upgraded to Windows 11.

Thanks will try again, no VPN is running, it's a standard Win 10 install and their Edge browser which might be the issue, will set Chrome or Firefox as the default to test. Perhaps our isp, a national provider is also running something in the background. The other issue is Australian English is not a language option so that may be a show stopper as well.

I haven't seen this one myself, but many Windows users encounter it when upgrading, and it could be caused by a number of different issues.
To start, please do the following:
Open Disk Management (Win + X → Disk Management)
Check for unallocated space or unusual partition setups
What is the size of your EFI System Partition?

The other pc is similar dual boot but a different mb and cpu. Not sure if that matters. I hope I’m not trashing the one it’s currently installing on!

I've already seen it. I forgot I had signed up for the MS Insider's Program. So when I upgraded using this method (upgrade worked flawlessly), Win11 eventually downloaded a preview version named [Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26120.2510 (ge_release upr) (repair version)]. Once it installed itself, a window popped up saying my hardware was not supported. It also had a button that said something like "Click Here to Fix." However, when I clicked on it, it brought me to the Windows Update setting w/ the same option to "Fix,," which opens the previously mentioned window. Seems like MS intends to prevent PCs with unsupported hardware from receiving future updates.
I used this video to reinstall Win11 again, but that stupid file downloaded itself again (not yet installed). This was after I unenrolled from the Insider's program too.
I paused updates for a week for now. I really hope you have a way to get around this.

@@BeYourOwnNerd Yes. At least I thought so. I clicked on the link provided in Win Update to leave the program, and it appeared successful. I did this Before reinstalling 24H2 (keeping all settings/files etc). I thought that would be enough, but it still lists me as subscribed to the Dev Channel.
But after about an hour of searching and trying various things, it appears the only way to leave that damn program is to install a fresh version of Windows (w/o keeping anything).
And the file didn't actually download and install this time. I saw it pop up and was set to download so I paused updates for a week. Hoping for some good news soon ...

@@pnew1537 You're welcome! There's no rush to upgrade to Windows 11 right away. You can stick with Windows 10 until support ends in October 2025. After that, you can upgrade to Windows 11 or pay Microsoft $30 for an extra year of Windows 10 security updates, extending support until October 2026.
As for Windows 11, I personally love it. I've had no issues with it at all. While some people claim to dislike it, I haven’t seen any solid reasons behind their complaints. So far, it’s been incredibly stable for me, gaming performance is excellent, and I’ve have it running smoothly on at least five different machines.
