However, it is up to him whether or not he introduces it. Why did he make a move to do so, and then let it drop?
From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.

The sultan is actually very kind to his people, other than all the propaganda. Brunei citizens have free healthcare, free education, no income tax, unbelievably low prices on both petroleum and natural gas, the government sometimes gives a check to its citizens because the Sultan feels like sharing some of his wealth that month. Brunei is a country with one of the world's lowest crime rates, and jobs pay very handsomely. Plus, there are many stories of people who went through troubles and ended up homeless, the government bought the people a plot of land and built a house for them free of charge. The government also helped them find a stable job. That is also why Brunei is a country with one of the world's lowest poverty rate.

The main reason you got all that is because of the small population. Mere 400,000 people is tiny when compared to millions in other countries. Your benefits will go only as far as long as the government can afford it. Once Brunei reaches 1 million people, then the country will definitely start to suffer.

I lived in Brunei for few years when I was young and it was an absolute delight. I was amazed to see every houses no matter how small they were had at least 2 or 3 cars. Petrol was very cheap and so was cost of foods. It was’t densely populated and everything was clean. Every year during Hariraya the palace was open for all the public to go for a grand buffet and had a meet and greet with the Sultan’s family. And in the end gave a parting gift of new crisp 5 dollar note and container full of goodies. Good memories.

ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH FEAR, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, LONELINESS, HATE, RESENTMENT, ANGER, LUST, SEXUAL PERVERSION OR ADDICTIONS?
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR HAPPINESS IN A BOTTLE, IN DRUGS, IN ENTERTAINMENT, IN A CAREER, IN MONEY & MATERIAL POSSESSIONS, IN SPORTS, IN STRANGE MEN/WOMEN, IN ADDICTIONS, IN NEW AGE PRACTICES, ETC?
DO THEY EVER FILL YOU OR DO YOU JUST MOVE ON TO THE NEXT FIX OR THE NEXT THING?
THERE IS A CREATION SO WE KNOW THERE IS A CREATOR. YOU DIDN'T COME FROM NOTHING & YOU WEREN'T CREATED FOR NO REASON. YOUR LIFE HAS A PURPOSE AND YOU ARE LOVED & VALUED BY GOD! YOU WERE CREATED TO LOVE & SERVE GOD AND TO LOVE & SERVE OTHERS!
YOU SEE WHEN GOD CREATED US HE LEFT A HOLE IN US THAT CAN ONLY BE FILLED BY HIM! THIS IS WHY SO MANY THAT HAVE ACHIEVED GREAT SUCCESS IN THE WORLD ARE STILL MISERABLE & DEPRESSED. IT JUST LEAVES THEM LONGING FOR MORE & WONDERING WHY THAT DIDN'T FIX THE BROKENNESS IN THEM. WHY DO SO MANY RICH PEOPLE & CELEBRITIES DRINK/DRUG THEMSELVES TO DEATH?
GOD DESIRES FOR YOU TO KNOW HIM AS A FATHER, A BEST FRIEND, A PROTECTOR, A PROVIDER, A REFUGE. HE WANTS TO BE MASTER & LORD OF YOUR LIFE, HE WANTS TO BE YOUR SAVIOR. HE WANTS A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU, LIKE A FATHER & SON/DAUGHTER! HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN ANY PERSON EVER CAN BECAUSE HE IS LIMITLESS! HE'S ALL KNOWING, ALL POWERFUL, ALL SEEING!
JESUS KNOCKS ON YOUR HEART AND LONGS FOR YOU TO ANSWER! HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE ANYONE PERISH INTO HELL. GOD LOVES YOU SO HE GIVES YOU FREE WILL AND A CHOICE TO ACCEPT HIM OR REJECT HIM. TO LOVE HIM OR TO LOVE SIN/THIS WORLD. CALL UPON JESUS & ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOUR SINS! SURRENDER YOUR WILL & YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND HE WILL GIVE YOU ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN! PICTURE YOUR BEST DAY ON EARTH TIMES A BILLION FOR ETERNITY, THAT'S HEAVEN! NOW PICTURE YOUR WORST DAY ON EARTH TIMES A BILLION FOR ETERNITY, THAT'S HELL! TOTAL SEPARATION FROM GOD & HIS BLESSINGS (LOVE, PEACE, JOY, HOPE, FRIENDS, FAMILY, REST, ETC). IN HELL YOU WILL BE ALONE, YOU WILL BE HOPELESS, YOU WILL BE IN DESPAIR & AGONY FOREVER!
GOD'S STANDARD FOR HEAVEN IS PERFECTION AND ONLY JESUS (THE SON OF GOD, GOD IN THE FLESH) LIVED THAT PERFECT LIFE AND LAID DOWN HIS LIFE AS AN OFFERING FOR ALL PEOPLE'S SINS! YOU CAN CHOOSE TO REJECT JESUS' GIFT & PAY FOR YOUR OWN SIN WITH DEATH (HELL) BUT THAT SEEMS PRETTY FOOLISH! GOD SEES & HEARS EVERYTHING YOU HAVE SAID & DONE. YOU WONT WIN AN ARGUMENT ON JUDGEMENT DAY & YOU CANT DEFEND ANY OF YOUR SINS. WE'RE ALL GUILTY WITHOUT ACCEPTING JESUS' SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS!
THESE ARE END TIMES: THE VACCINES & BOOSTERS ARE POISON & MANY WILL DIE FROM THEM! THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS NEXT AND YOU WONT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT IT! EVENTUALLY YOU WILL BE FORCED TO GET IT OR BE KILLED! EVERYTHING GOING ON IS TALKED ABOUT IN THE BIBLE BUT IT WILL GET FAR WORSE THAN ANY TIME IN HISTORY. YOUR ONLY HOPE IS CHRIST! HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO ESCAPE OR ENDURE WHAT'S TO COME!
MUHAMMAD DIDN'T DIE FOR YOUR SINS, BUDDHA DIDN'T DIE FOR YOUR SINS, NO PASTOR/PRIEST/MARY OR SAINT DIED FOR YOUR SINS, NO IDOLS OR FALSE GODS DIED FOR YOUR SINS, NO ACTOR OR CELEBRITY DIED FOR YOUR SINS, NO ATHLETE OR POLITICIAN DIED FOR YOUR SINS!
JESUS CHRIST ALONE DIED FOR YOUR SINS & WAS RESURRECTED FROM THE GRAVE! HE IS ALIVE & COMING BACK SOON WITH JUDGEMENT! PREPARE YOURSELVES! DON'T WAIT TO CRY OUT TO HIM!

Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future.
Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it.

As a Sabahan myself and a neighbor to Brunei, Bruneians are the happiest ppl and contented citizens under the leadership of his Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. This documentary missed out the information that His majesty is also the Prime Minister and the General of Brunei. Call him a lavish dictator all you want, I'd say he's been doing very well in holding these positions, I mean who the hell at the age of over 70 would still be leading the troops for an early run after Fajr prayer everyday? And His Majesty's diplomatic relationships with other countries is unparalleled. The very last part of this documentary stated that his Majesty realized that monarchy won't last forever, that is why he's setting himself by leading the very best examples of how to be a good government so when the day comes, the ppl of Brunei knows very well what to do. And lastly, where I come from, Sabah also a neighbor to Phillipines, with an epidemic rise of our illegal immigrants due to poor ESSCOM boarders safeties being implemented over decades, I can't feel anymore safer than being in anywhere in Brunei, I don't have to even think about being robbed in the streets of Brunei 2am while I'm taking an insomnia walk.
Due to the pandemic, I wasn't able to travel during both Ramadhans of 2020 and 2021, I do miss the Eid al-Fitr open house celebration by his Majesty at their residence, the Nurul Iman palace.
His Majesty has pledged his solidarity with Indonesia and my country Malaysia to #FreePalestine from the evil occupations of IDF.
I'm wishing his Majesty a great longevity and may Allah bless him always while Western medias can keep bragging about his Majesty of being 'sinister' lol!

These systems of former exploitation are very often the systems that allowed places to experience comparative liberty or freedom all over the world in the late 20th century. Kuwait, Hong Kong, hell even in American occupied Kabul before they decamped there was a massive positive disparity in economics, education, and political freedom in the places with contact to the west. It's not "propaganda" its an accurate portrayal of a political situation. There is obviously the century or centuries before that too that need to be understood (as well in context of their neighbors and era) but muddying the waters by blending them all together leaves many to discount the evils, and to dismiss the goods that actually effected their history.
I will dunk on the ineffectiveness of neoliberalism, and the way colonialism has wrought the world we see today all day. But in the necessary shifting of the narrative people who just tuned in the last 15 years miss the well understood basis on which the new narrative was made.

I lived in Brunei, grow up in Brunei and left Brunei to go overseas to explore life outside of Brunei for almost a decade and came back again to Brunei. The Sultan of Brunei is NOT sinister. We visited Brunei just before pandemic. Greatly concerned because of imposition of Sharia law; expected harshness & rigidity. What we experienced was very different. At least in the capital, people were relaxed & friendly. Unlike many places where locals sort of whispered about dissenting political or religious views, the local people seemed genuinely content & very appreciative of their sultan. Also impressed that he reined in the extravagance of some relatives, converting a massive private estate into a beautiful hotel. Brunei River is a wonderful place to see proboscis monkeys, interesting wildlife, and a jungle full of fireflies at dusk. So if drinking isn’t your tourism goal, highly recommend.

Such systems often lead to abuse of power and suppression of its people, but His Majesty has shown what a great person he is by not letting this happen and putting the interests of the entire country and His people on the first place. I hope he has taught all the right values to the Crown Prince, because I would love to see Brunei flourish and Thrive for a very long time to come. My husband's family lived in Brunei for almost 40 years. Till this day, we have many friends and family living in Brunei.
All I can say is that it was a very happy place for the family. Many fond memories made living in that country whose King is very generous and close to the people. It is common to see him worshipping in the mosque w his subjects.
Most definitely the muslim people of Brunei does not see their Sultan as divine as this video alleges. Muslims are monotheists and do not have this kind of mentality seen im idol worshippers and people who worship humans or animals.
He is well loved because he is a just ruler and somebody who tries to uphold the Islamic laws. Although far from perfect, many muslims appreciate this effort by the Sultan.
Southeast asian history has shown that whenever a Sultan is ursurped, it is the muslim community that suffers the loss of the prominence of their faith. Hence, most malays will prefer to have the Sultan's position maintained. This is something non malays and especially westerners will find hard to understand.

@@radiumdude Europe is not without its monarchy as well. Safe to assume that your sentiment about monarchies are not uniquely European.
A thing to point out, Muslim monarchs of southeast asia did not send armies to colonise and pillage foreign lands and lived relatively peacefully with their neighbours, minding their own affairs.

@@alyahamzah1952 living for the past 18 years in multiple countries across Asia (including Muslim countries), I observe a certain “awe” people have for any authority. This isn’t that pronounced in Europe today, as always: exceptions confirm the rule. Calling people “subjects” seems to be the epitome of submissiveness - at least in my understanding a human being is sovereign and certainly nobody’s subject.
Whoever was (and is) pillaging and conquering is a different matter and certainly not absent from middle eastern history.
