@@syntheticderangement Oh cool! Also I'm curious why I can't find this game on the Switch version of RPG Maker MV, is this only available on one platform?
@@syntheticderangement Guess I should fire up the ol' PS4 and download RPG Maker MV Player on there too. I really wanted to give that game a try all because there's "Succubus" in the title! 😂
Might and Magic definitely has a special place in my heart. The time i played it i was so hooked and played it over and over till I found a new good game. But still seeing my self going back to this title. Those where the days :')
Erick, I am a new fan of yours! I really appreciate your work and thanks for the channel! One thing, it would be great if in these types of series, you could put links to the previous videos in the series in the description. It can be hard to find the older videos sometimes.
Soon there, Erick, 100ks is just around the corner! Let's have a good old grind-fest when we are there, count me in 100%! I am playing Pillars of Eternity and Phantasy Star 4 right now. The two RPGs are very different, like fire and water, but the games are both excellent.
Nice to see places other than US and Japan trying their hand at RPGs. They might be able to bring new perspectives to common fantasy tropes such as empires and successions.
Sword of the Vagrant is great. I splurged and bought the physical version (even though it was much more expensive than the digital, which often goes on sale) and don't regret it at all. Fantastic game that hopefully gets a lot more love. I have Monochrome Mobius sitting on my shelf but haven't tried it out yet. I've got tons of games that I've bought but haven't started yet in anticipation of getting to them when I retire and have the free time (which hopefully should be in about 5 years or so).
Hey Erick I just bought a steam deck and I have been emulating a lot of old JRPG. I thought it would be kinda cool if you could make a series about JRPGs that are stuck on old game consoles and cant be played in PC or current gen. Love your videos
I remember being hyped for Shiness back then because there were so few cel shaded games on PS4 to that point, we didnt really know what a “next gen” cel shaded game could be at the time.
The problem with the fights is that there is no easy mode. I tried it again after some pause but couldn´t get into and deinstalled it again. Celshading alone can not save this game from mediocre in my eyes.
This is a solid list of games, its really too bad that a game like Banner of the Maid doesnt have one. That game looks phenomenal for what it is. This Way Madness Lies just got a physical from Limited Run but hasnt shipped yet. Pretty fun seeing Clash of Heroes get a remake, I hope they did a solid job with that. Thanks Erick!
Damn thanks for the recommendations Erick! Now I'm really interested in playing house of the banner of the maid and the FE: Requiem. they look pretty interesting to me.
Ya, they made grinding much easier in monochrome after i played it >.>; they made a lot of changes pretty quickly too. initially any unimportant npc had no face, it was pretty creepy going around town talking to these... faceless npcs
I liked that a FE Hack was mentioned, but i dont like it that it was forced inside a video with a totally different topic, taking the place of other "on topic" options of games. And they already have the disadvantage of being obscure after all. But I'd like to use this chance to suggest compiling a list of great Rpg Rom Hacks.
I know its not obscure to serious RPG fans, but I will never miss an opportunity to recommend Octopath Traveler 2! If you're like me & didn't care for the first game, toss out that mindset & play Octopath 2. If you're like "eh, everyone tells me it's good, but it doesn't look that special," wait for a sale to give it a try. A few hours in, you'll feel guilty for only paying half price, then leave a review apologizing for your ignorance (like I did) 😅 And if you think HD-2D as a design signals "cheap" or "less than AAA," Octopath Traveler 2 will shatter that opinion & make you wonder why so many "AAA" JRPG's aren't nearly as good as this indie-looking game. *TL;DR -* Don't be an idiot like me & ignore the game for a year. It's GOOD!
Sword of the vagrant is AWESOME! Also, Astlibra is ALOT like Odin sphere in style and gameplay, I highly recommend them... While we wair for vanilla ware to make that Odin sphere sequel... Which probably isn't happening. Sigh.
Ultradespair girls is genius one of my fav games ever. The ending is just over the top!!! And the pop art Venice!! God that game is the best! And u are right it is not an rpg - it's the most original variation on resident evil 4 - but it feels like an rpg someway... a very story driven one.
I wasn't aware that Danganronpa Another was ported to PS4. I thought I might be able to try that game again on a big screen but that version is even more expensive than the Vita one. 😢
Thanks for playing my game! I am so flattered my game Risa made this list!!! I’ve been subbed for years!!
Which game did you develop?
@@SEiMEi_EXiSTS Succubus Apothecary Risa!

@@SEiMEi_EXiSTS Yeah, unfortunately the RPG Maker MV forum for PS4/PS5 is separate from the Switch.

Hey, nice to see someone talking about clash of heroes again. Loved that game on my 360
Advance 100k subs man!
that Apothecary Risa looks like a combination of OG Final Fantasy + Lunar games
anyways, 6:26 Philippine studio??? 😮😳🤯

Nice to see Banner of the Maid. very underrated game.
Thanks for the video... Now, I have my eyes on "Sword of the Vagrant"
congrats on 100k!
Gotta say it i would not have been able guess the titles he chose here, truly obscure and unknown gems.

This Way Madness Lies was just in a bundle, probably still is, on Fanatical.
That game also got a physical release on PS and Switch from Limited Run. Not available to be shipped yet but coming, ordered the PS5 version.

Just wonder have you played Edge Of Eternity?
Finished Sword of the Vagrant hours before this video came out.
thank you for this video, more rpgs to add to my list
+Rogue Galaxy on PS2, always shout out that game. Its so fun

Fire Emblem Requiem really plays like an original FE game. For people that want to get into FE Rom hacks, it's a great point of entry.
Have you tried Andaron Saga? I haven't played it yet but it seems to be a solid GBA FE hack as well.
@@kathleendelcourt8136 Mangs's ROM Hack is a bit more complex than Requiem. That one has skills and QoL that FE7 Hacks don't have.

ps. clash of heroes was one of my fav 3ds games and I just preordered the limited run version for switch, waiting for it to release.
I can´t find it on Steam.
Another banger incoming.
Erick, which version of Clash of Heroes do you recommend?
I probably missed it, but have you played/reviewed Mato Anomalies? It's a great indie JRPG

Time stamps ?

It's so sad that old games almost don't be mentioned in these actual lists... To gaming nowdays is too expensive just for "to test" a game. ='(
Need to check out Shiness, maybe on Gamepass?
Vamos arriba carajo!

Is that Yang Xiao Long from RWBY?
The girl from Sword Of The Vagrant looks a lot like Yang doesn't she?
