waynzwhirled Thanks! Okay ... My friend Alan Knight, as well as being a builder of electric guitars (several VERY famous clients) likes to buy in, and repair, Classical/Spanish ones. And so he can show potential purchasers what they sound like, I do the occasional video with them. This one was built by an Englishman - MAYER - who moved to Spain to learn to build guitars. You could tell it was a lovely piece - prime timbers, very nice. Sold for about £2k new. Alan got it with some body damage, which he got an artist friend to do a small painting over, which you can see! He's sold it on now. The shape made it uncomfortable - the old designs are best. Why re-invent the wheel?? !!
Always lovely Shaun. What a strange looking guitar with that massive upper bout. What does it do to the sound and do you like it over traditional shapes (kinda hard to tell listening via ur mic via utube via my speakers)? Horrible pick guard though.
+Matt M Hi Matt, yes it was a horrible beast, really uncomfortable. I have a friend who buys, renovates and sells guitars and often I use them on my YT vids so the seller has a link to show prospective buyers, and that was the case here. Somebody asked about this guitar when I first posted it, and I posted a reply with info about it downthread if you can find it. The point I think is that the regular shape and design has evolved over the generations and as such will always be the best, or it wouldn't have survived. Sorry for the late response, just catching up with messages now. Thanks for the kind words :-)
That was a phenomenal rendition of such a beloved classic. Thank you.

Beautiful! How about filling us in on that unusual looking guitar? I don't think I've ever seen one with an upper bout that is larger than the lower.
