Xenoverse 2 Tutorial Adjust Hairstyles from Mods for Cac use

    Today i got another Tutorial. I was asked to do it by Hans P .
    I got the problem too if i extract the hairstyles of a character mod like
    Gotama etc. the hair wasn't in his right place or was not there at all.
    To change that i made this video .
    Sorry for my bad english , i hope its alright.
    This method should work for all of you.
    Also i didn't mention it in the video but it could be possible that the outlines (black lines) are not visible or in the wrong places.
    This happened because in the process you switch the position (y, z etc) when you saved it.
    To change that just just reopen the fbx file and resave it again just like in the video. This should help.
    Also for my requests on Minecraft meets Dragonball.
    I will upload the next video tomorrow (i think). The next project is Goku Black. After that i got another request to do Gotenks.

    Thanks a lot! I also wanted to mention that for people who can't seem to get the hair to be fixed to their char's head, you have to moved the HUM_000.esk file into the emdfbx tool with the Hair_000.emd and then the b_C_Head will show up (ALSO: Make sure you export the FBX with Apply Scalings set to "FBX All"

      is it the same for female hairstyles? for example HUF_000.esk
      because i tried moving both the emd and esk files into the emdfbx tool and it still didnt stick to my cacs head, its always misplaced

      serantus Did you select/highlight and drag both at the same time(together)? For me, it made the Hair and the Esk merge into one FBX file. If that still doesn’t work then idk what to do, sorry 😐

      Then it’s because you need to realign it with the skeleton. Just move the hair up or down until it fits on the scalp perfectly

    for those with trouble, if the hair model is too big scale it to 0.01(you know the thing next to y forward, z up) when your about to export it

    I'm trying to do Dbz Broly hair for HUM and HUF but with my blender version being different from the video's I'm confused, and plus I'm trying to do the same with his super saiyan hair. Help?

    Can you please remake these tutorials? Blender looks a lot different now.. I wanna get into modding hair and clothes with Blender but its really hard to get going and there aren't really good tutorials for it

      The same thing happened to me. I think I'll just settle for what I can.
      Edit: And by that I mean, sticking with my old hair. Even if it is generic.

      Anyone still getting this issue, it's caused by the scale setting when you export being at a default of 1. I've been advised to change this to 0.01 instead

    A special thanks! What I was looking for! See, I would like Broly's hair Ssj version suppressed, I'm trying in every way. I tried in 3ds Max and now I'm trying Blender but with poor results. The 3d model appears but I can not change perspective with the mouse as if I were stuck with the active mouse cursor. Can you give me a hand?

    anyone able to help me out when I convert my hair back into a emd it always becomes at least 10 times bigger than what it should be. EDIT never mind i needed to manually scale the model down to 0.01 when exporting it

      No idea (I didn't either). But switching Version on the Export options from Binary 7.4 to 6.1 as someone suggested helped me in that area

    literally cant find the tab you opened at 8:42 im on blender version 2.79b
    EDIT: nevermind found it but i have 7 vertex groups instead of your 1 box, i have Density, Length, Clump, Kink, Roughness 1, Roughness 2, and Roughness end, where do i put the b_C_Head at?
    EDIT 2: ok so i was able to make my vertex group look like yours but how do i add b_C_Head to the list?
    EDIT 3: ok i was able to get b_C_Head added into the vertex group list but now after doing everything correctly my characters hair is bald instead of the hair i want what should i do?

    in blender i have it positioned perfectly, i check it in xenoviewer and it's still in the perfect spot, but when i load in game the hair is pushed back and the hair is clipping through the bangs, what could be causing it?

    Ik it’s 3 years later but my file keeps turning into a esk and I’ve been doing this for 2 hours (edit) downloaded all the programs from 2016 and got a little further but not for enough for it too work in game tho idk how to get the b_c_head (edited again) u add b_c_head to the vortex group but now my hair is floating... wtf (another edit) I got it working when making the emds into fbx drop the hair and the esk at the sametime that way ur hair will be magically rig to the player model but if ur merging hair (like me) do the same thing but separately and what I mean is take one hair and the esk and drag and drop and then take the hair ur trying to merge and drag and drop with the same esk

      How did you get it to stop making the file an ESK? Been tryna make LSSJ god hair for hours and my damn EMD keeps converting to ESK and I can't stop the hair from being giant

      @@SpartanB269 hmm maybe when u drag and drop them together (I assume that’s what ur doing) when u do the fbx conversion it recognizes it as an esk for some reason I speculate this the problem and don’t kn the solution unfortunately but there is a way around it I’m sure.

    Ok this may just be an issue with the way I moved the models but for some reason the hair is behind the forehead and is clipping in the face, also you say in the description that you reopened the fbx to re-save it but you didn't

    So I did all the steps correcty but when I go to view the hair in xenoviewer it's super big. If anyone knows how to fix this then that would be a big help. btw my hair I want is Daimons

      Download version 2.79 then when your exporting out the version to 6.1 ascii not 7.4 binary and also put the scaling to 0.1 and put Y forward Z Up

      @@itsmaris3921 For some reason it refuses to scale the hair despite me selecting FBX All, trying the original All Local and testing scaling in both scaling the hair on the scene and scaling the hair by inputing the value in the export menu. Do you know how to solve this issue? I've tried the 6.1 ascii and scaling 0.1 while using version 2.79 and the original 1.0 scale with 7.4 binary but for me it hasn't made a difference.

    When i'm going from FBX to EMD, the hair become bigger (like x10 in size).. Any solution ?

    Well figured out why my character was bald. If you're on 2.79 or 2.80 blender when ready to export for the Y forward and Z up make sure there is _ for the o on Y forward.

      I tried this and it still is showing up as bald, I tried viewing it in xenoviewer and it does show up as having a black color but not in-game

    i tried to merge 2 hairstyles and i put it in the skeleton right how it shows in the video but when i see if it works in xenoviewer the hair doesn't even appear and in game the hair is in the stomach

    Has anyone tried to make their own hairstyle from scratch? I have made a model, but I have no idea what to do now. Followed the steps in this video, but it still comes up with a bald head, no matter what I do.
    If someone can point me in the right direction as to what I need to do make my own made model work with xenoverse, I would appreciate it.

      First things first.. have you all the needed files for the hairstyle , emm, emd, emb, dyt.emb ?
      If so and you still are bald, it has probably something to do with blender exporting the model.

      @@DeadEnvy Yes, I should have. I am replacing the emd file of HUM_011. I leave the other files untouched, only replacing the emd.
      The model I made in blender, I made already using HUM_000 forehead as a base for fitting. Since I made my own model, would I need to follow extra steps, like retexturing or rigging (not sure what rigging is but heard about it)?

      @@aquansfm4272 HUM_11 is hairstyle 10 if i remember correct. well changing only the model is okay..
      the thing is that you created the model from scratch right, so you have to rename couple thing to match the code in the emm. sorry im terible at explaining but if you look at the emm you will see entries for the models and what color/texture the game has to load with it. but if the name of the material(model) doesn't match the one in the emm it will not work

    Bro! Really helpful tutorial, You Helped alot. Can make a tutorial of how to change moveset of CAC? Like in Hxd Hex editing stuff? I wasn't able to find a better tutorial for it, But I think you can do it. So make a tutorial about how to change your CAC moveset.
    And A quick question, Is it possible to get the stance upon transformation like saiyan CAC? like when a saiyan CAC transforms into SSJ3, It changes into a cool looking stance. Is it possible to get that stance for Earthling CAC? Please let me know!

      first of you can get the moveset without hex editing and probably more easier way . you just have to know which id every character have (google is your friend) and the cms editor .
      to edit the animation of your character you will need to use an eanorganizer i used in a different video.
      im my video i copy the tail animation to goku blacks moveset so i can use my tail mod with his attacks.
      i will try to make a video on how to make the stance change but i think its most likely like the tail animation

    I know this video is quite old, but when I used fbxemd on all of my files, I only got the emd file back, and then when I used it in the game, my CAC was bald.

    I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but after having the hair model become invisible and scaling it correctly, every time I check to make sure that everything is aligned correctly the hair is still above the forehead model and everything else

      have you checked if the model is on the b_C_Head bone ?
      Are you using some sort of mod that changes the character skeleton ?
      for the invisible part i would say the problem is in the emb/emm file

      Dead Envy I took a look at the emb and emm files and the emb and emd are fine but the emm has only black as the color shown in the file so I just need to figure out how to properly set it up so that it can be used as a transformable hair, if you would have any idea on how to do this I would appreciate it

    The hair refuses to scale. How do I fix this? I've tried scaling in both the scene options and in the export options, tried all scale options for exporting (FBX All, FBX Units and the other two options) and tried changing from 7.4 binary to 6.1 ascii but nothing has worked for me

    Can someone help me out here?, I'm trying to flip a SSJ2 Gohan hair model and a SSJ4 Gohan model so that the bang will be on the same side as hairstyle number 5 for CaCs, but it keeps coming out really weird.

    For some reason i tried this 5 times and got no results my CAC gets bald all the time XD one thing i notice is that in the version of blender there is not the option apply units instead there is anew one Apply Scal with 4 option may be thats the problem! Can someone help me pls.
    Really nice Tutorial Envy helped a lot to understand how these things work.

      same thing Envy does on its video but when extracting instead of the apply units change the version from FBX 7.4 binary to 6.1 at least that fixed it for me

      the textures are determined by .dyt.emb files just drag any random one in and it works

      SaiyanZero I am currently having this problem with a custom tail mod. I have the model in game, but the textures nor the modded esk skeleton to support tails do not work with it currently.
      Could you explain how you rewrote the emm file?

      Drag the dyt.emb file into embpack and change the color of data000.dds from black to something else

      also look at data002.dds in that folder
      it will probably have super saiyan hair colors so try that out first

      Thanks. Does doing that install a texture as well? The texture doesn’t have to fit on perfect, but I do want it to show as not having it at all looks... weird

      Real Talk it does not install a texture it simply makes a folder that contains what the dyt. emb file had inside of it.

      You use your shift+mouse and drag the files in like the video. You will get a file with .fbx ones do the same in the video. Open the blender and then go to import and select the file.

    Alright so I need help. I wanted to edit hairstyle 26 so I did what you said but when I put the files in emdfbx it gave me to random folders along with the fbx. When I imported the fbx in it gave me a bunch of errors and it only put in the skeleton not the hair. So I put the skeleton and hair separately to put them together later. I did but when I go into xenoverse 2 it looks huge and unidentifiable. Also when I go to xenoviewer it the model doesn't show up. Plz help

    Hey Dead Envy. I'm having a bit of an issue.
    So, I tried taking Gine's Hairstyle (Female Saiyan Type 3 default hairstyle) and making it stand up in an SSJ style. (Although it ended up becoming my Ultra Instinct hairstyle instead.) But the problem I'm having is that when I go to export, I don't see the 'Apply Unit' option to uncheck. In fact, several of the options I see on your end are there for you, but not for me. Some are just different for me.
    I'm guessing we may be on different versions of Blender..? I'm on 2.79. If that's not the problem, then maybe it's a plugin issue?
    Anyways, instead of 'Apply Unit', I have an option for 'Apply Scalings', and that has 4 different options to pick from. FBX All, FBX Custom Scale, FBX Units Scale, and All Local. It's defaulted to All Local.
    Aside from that, there's also a little box with an icon in it next to the 'Scale: 1.00' slider, and this box says the following... "Take into account current Blender units settings (if unset, raw Blender Units values are used as-is"
    I'd really appreciate any help, because this is my first hairstyle mod, and I'd like to make some for SSJ1-Blue too.

      When I export as Local All, the hair is massive and 50 feet above me. When I export as FBX All, it puts the hair in front of me facing down, but normal scale.

      Found the problem. When I changed that setting, it reset the Y Forward and Z Up settings. It's working fine now.
      Good tutorial though. :D

      I did however just notice another issue after getting a closer look at the hair in-game. There's a few spots of the hair that have black or invisible faces/tris.
      I didn't add anything to the hair. I only took the hair into Edit Mode and moved parts of it around to make it stand up.

      also for your request with the hair . i found some mods that already give you the ssr hair from goku black and his ssj3 hairstyle is also there i think so you don't need to extract them from other mods

      If you have Lixenoverse then copy the filed named extract-data-uncompressed to your CPK folder. Then simply extract it and it will give you any and every file you need for modding the game.

    hey ive got this problem where i cant repack emd. when i try to drag and drop fbx file into fbxemd the result is that its showing the emd files and esk but not in whole emd

      the file you open up in blender is normaly the fbx file. you get it from dragging the emd,emb.dyt.emb and the mm file with the bcs and esk file on the embfbx tool. the tool should be in the libxenoverse folder (search for it in google)

      you probably saved it wrong . i don't know wich version you have but you have to unselect the apply unit thing and make sure not to move the model in blender/3dx .

      use the brush function (push "c" or "v"on your keyboard) and mark all the parts of the hair you want. than just delete it with pressing "x" or moveit with the translate funftion

      i cant mark anything with a brush it showing paint can you tell me what kinda tutorial i need to watch in order to select and move parts of 1 whole object cause im trying to mark multiple dots using shift+right click but when i start to move it only 1 piece moves of all the dots i've clicked.
      basically a tutorial to move that ssj2 spike upwards in 1 go or do i have to do dot by dot in edit mode.

    ich habe versucht 2 hairstyles zu kombinieren, aber das hat nur so halb geklappt. merged zamasu + vegeta ssj4. am ende wird leider nur zamasus hair angezeigt und das ohne texturen (also so ein komisches weiß) und ssj4 vegeta ist überhaupt nicht zu sehen. hab beide aber mit esk in emdfbx gezogen, in blender zusammengestellt, und alle haben auch dieses b_C_head dingen. wenn ich exportiere bekomm ich eine datei, die tu ich dann in fbxemd und dann kommt eine emd bei raus. aber es ist so als ob vegetas haare nie drin gewesen wären und wo zum teufel sind die texturen?? O.o

      hm bist du sicher das du die models auch richtig verbunden hast ? ich wiess das ssj4 hair ob nun von goku oder vegeta bisschen anders aufgebaut sind das kann vllt der grund sein
      die texturen musst du auch noch selbst combinieren. benutz einfach embpack um die texturen heraus zubekommen und dann mit gimp oder paint.net die texturen combinieren.

      ok, hab es jetzt gerade zumindest hinbekommen die ganze frisur ins game zu bekommen. man konnte die einzelnen teile in blender tatsächlich irgendwie gruppieren. vegetas haare sind jetzt nur knall weiss. hab mal die beiden emb's in embpack getan und jetzt eine DDS erhalten. was mach ich jetzt damit? :D

    hi,
    first question: where did u get those tools ? cause i have only the fxbemd and the emdfbx.
    second question: when i try to convert the imported file with the fbxemd i get an error saying "Usage: fbxemd [options] file.fbx originalFile.ean(not erased, just to keep animations order for making animation) options: '-noCompressedFlag' ." -> question: how can i fix this ? if u know what that is ofc.

    first could you make x2m for all your modded characters and uploaded it to mediafire
    i try to use emdfbx to get fbx file then modified it
    i use 3d max and it give error in fbxemd tool
    i use blender and it give a non movable bust not attached to the other characterpart
    do you know how to fix this
    and how to make emb file
    when use fbxemd it give only emd file and replace emd file only didnt work
    what is the softs do you use

      all my mods are on xenoversemods or on my patreon . and no i will not upload everything i made so far for public
      secondly i don't use 3dx so i can't help you with it. the non moveable bust happens if you don't rigg the bust if its not rigged before.
