Thanks for testing this on thick cardstock since I was thinking of using this for trimming art prints from 8.5 x 11 photo paper. Might get the larger Fiskars guillotine for it and have to research if it has the same slant problems
Thanks for the review. I was thinking of buying this at Michael's, but most of the reviews were complaining about the slant in the cuts, so it doesn't look like it was your trimmer. I will continue to look for a trimmer that cuts more accurately.
I'm glad the review was helpful. It's too bad that it doesn't cut straight because otherwise it's a great handy tool. But definitely unreliable. Good luck in your search!
+Sintang Mayumi Wow, that's fantastic! I'm glad to hear it's holding up well. I was using it yesterday and it's just so handy. Thank you for checking out the video. 😊
the cutting error due to blade position was just one off error for your purchase or it must be for all? I wanted to cut small wallet size prints.. some 3000 prints but want straight lines and when all prints are held together like cards, want the edge to be consistent. should I go forward with purchase. Great to see you tried all paper strips/sizes and thus that also gives clarity. Love the flower pattern in design. Have you tried laser cutting on paper? I was thinking whether to get laser cut or buy this? I wanted precision.
I'm not sure if the misalignment is with every product or just mine. I didn't return it, I just know it's there and compensate for it when I need to. But it's not 100% accurate and if I need a perfect line, I pull out my metal ruler and x-acto knife. I haven't tried laser cut yet but I'd be curious to explore that more. I like that this cutter is handy to use, but the one I have isn't perfectly straight. If you did buy it and found yours wasn't straight either, I'd return it if possible. For precision, I'm not sure I'd recommend this but perhaps a higher end cutter made of metal would be better (this one has plastic parts). I hope that helps!
@@LeanneLandArt That is such a detailed reply. Thanks. I am putting decision on hold and will study more of cutters. I was going to buy it earlier but after seeing you video and comment now, need to hold. Will check laser cutting (had tried on wood and is great and precise cut if done through software), but on paper, fear some burning. Will try and update here.
Thanks for the review. This is currently on sale at a local store so I think I'll pick it up!
