  • This is a demo of my Yamaha SG2000 from the early 80's. Completely stock with the exception of speed knobs and a brass nut.
Playing through my solid state Fender Princeton Chorus amp for clean tones. Reverb set to 5, mild chorus, low set to 6, mid set to 8.5, and high set to about 5.5. For gain, using Boss Super Overdrive (SD-1) pedal.

I love mine (it is much more heavily modified) but still retains the brass plate that is under the bridge. The sustain on these beasties is really something to behold. The wood work is also quite gorgeous, too! Always thought that it was a shame these were discontinued.
    Yours looks and sounds gorgeous!

A heavy heavy guitar in every sense of the word. I've had a Stuart Adamson model since '84. It's like a brother.

I bought mine around 1988. Happened to walk into my fave guitar shop and there it was. I knew Carlos Santana played them so I picked it up and plugged it into a Marshall mini-stack. Hasn't left my hands since.

Brilliant!@@sydwynd I'd been watching Stuart and John McGeoch playing them for a few years and they were my guitar heroes when I was a kid so as soon as I could afford it I got one from the Soho Soundhouse. I can remember being terrified someone would try and pinch it as I headed home on the underground. I don't think anyone could have prised it off me even with knives and guns lol. I've hardly played it for 20 years. It's a little bit road worn from 2 decades of gigging but still VGC. I used it through a JCM800 stack for a while and then a fender Stage 185 like Stuart used in early Big Country. It sounded good through anything. I'm really looking forward to restringing it now. All hail the Les Paul Killer!

Sounds great. Looks like if a sg and a les Paul had a baby

Thanks. It plays better than any SG I've ever tried and better than 98% of the Les Pauls I've ever tried. Well worth getting one for far less than a comparable Gibson.

    I've got a 85 SBG2100 and a 72 Gibson Black LP custom, love them both😁

Love the Les Paul Customs! Had a chance once to get an Artisan model but was short on cash. One of my few regrets.

A fantastic old one , and its also the beginning of my interest in guitar, this video once again gave me the motivation to make money to buy it🤣🤣,btw could you tell me the name of the song you played in the first verse, or was it just a random riff ()

I highly recommend getting one if you can find one at a good price. The first song I played (clean) is an original composition called "I'm Coming Home". You can find the full track (along with that whole album) here: soundcloud.com/vincefranco-1/sets/vince-franco-music
