Republican Speaker Mike Johnson refused to even bring it to the floor for discussion because Trump told them not to. This bill was the product of several conservative Republicans and Democrats. It was touted as the most comprehensive border bill in decades. It would have increased border patrol staff, use modern technology to monitor the border, give the president the authority to shut down the border completely, etc. Thank the Republicans for using their majority to stop this bill. They put the wish of ONE man over the desire of us as American citizens who want the border issues to be solved.
