Your channel is an outstanding documentary resource on people and culture, deserving of recognition on international media platforms such as PBS, BBC World News, National Geographic, and the Discovery Channel.
An old lady who lived in Europe for almost 30 years and now living in my hometown in Mindanao. I just love your vlogs and really enjoys them. I get to learn a lot about my own country and people❤❤❤
Just discovered your channel and these comments from fans say it better than I could. Especially the Filipinos who appreciate a foreigner who knows so much and speaks the language.
Mr. Bean! Very apropos. While I never made that connection before, I had to laugh at what a great analogy that was for you. I really enjoy when you give us a mini history lesson about the historic sites you encounter just as you did with Fort Pikit. I always find it very intriguing when you do that and it makes me desire to visit those locations. Thank you for your final comments about Pikit. It's so important that you caution people about the dangers that may still exist in some places around the Philippines. You and Kulas make it look so easy to travel virtually everywhere, but obviously we don't see the precautions you take when visiting some of the less secure locales that you do. It definitely needs to be said and emphasized. Salamat kaayo!
😊 Kuya daot, new subscriber here, no skip ads all i can help💙 thank you for showing diff place of our country I like it because it's like going there😊 I'm from montalban rizal
Your exploration of the Philippines' biggest and best smoked fish, and the intriguing question of why PIKIT is so feared, is both enlightening and engaging. The depth of your investigation into this culinary delight not only reveals the rich flavors and cultural significance of the dish but also uncovers the fascinating stories behind it. Your dedication to showcasing the nuances of Filipino cuisine adds a heartfelt touch to every detail, making your content both educational and captivating. And I am Floating Village Life.
In America this carp is an invasive fish that is boney in nature. Its a shame that Americans cant get behind eating it but we are "spoiled" and want our boneless fish filets. Its so strange. Moreover, the carp is the genetic ancestor of the Koi, goldfish, and a few other ornamental fish and it irks people to eat something "familiar" Its weird behavior but Carp is lami kaayo.... I have learned to get through the boto sa isda and for me its a great choice. Don't see if often in the mercado pero ok ra. When avialable kaon na ha kuya? Cheers for another great video!
@@KumanderDaot I totally agree. we have rivers that these fish have taken over. They fly out of the water when bots are near and they jump out and bop people in the head. Dangerous fish haha search mississippi river and flying carp and the videos are crazy. A true invasion.
Another wonderful adventures from our documentarist KD.....thanks Anselm for this, we were able to know more of our very own countryside because of you....take care, enjoy and God bless.
I like that honesty .... 😊 Wish we could have cross path by coincidence , just visited South Cotabato ,my first, of course w/ the help of your vlogs. So far , its worth visits on those places and interact with locals , such a rich culture .
Interesting vlog. What looks like very ordinary walks of life in a small town becomes fascinating to us viewers when you feature the people, food and livelihood with your amazing storytelling and bits of history. Stay safe always.
KD, this is your calling, you love to explore the less traveled places in the the Philippines and present it to people who are afraid to go because of what was reported to be dangerous by local media!!! You are testament that it is not SO!!! You are Amazing Anselm. Safe travels ❤❤❤🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I also experience to travel from davao city to cotabato city way back in 2018 and my cotabato city friends told me not to stop in pikit with my motorcycle because of motor carnapper/holdaper from 12mn to 4am is crucial time but I believe during the Duterte administration, it's already peaceful in Pikit. Thank God nothing happened when I cross Pikit at 2am in the morning.

Nice video, I been to some part of Mindanao, including Bongao TAWI TAWI, although some parts is not safe because of the insurgent, but majority of the area is peaceful
🤦🏻♀️ Not fair, KumanderD. Where can I possibly find a freshly smoked mackerel this weekend? How can I satisfy the craving you've triggered? Just not fair, KD. smh 😟
Lola Susan is a legend! She doesn't look anywhere near her 90 years. I was expecting to see you pack one of the igan on the back of your motor as a wedding gift for Kulas and Therine.😆🤣😜 I loved the ate's comment that you can't get married without one because "you'll be able to see what's going on." That's got to be one of the funniest comments you ever heard in your travels.
Best advice do not go why chance it . A shame it wont have a lot of tourist because of the bad name they get, the Philippine people are missing out and for sure they deserve more. Thank you for the video it is good. but you need to slow down an show more longer footage your Documentary is to fast little hard to understand. sorry 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the feedback, which particular sections did you find were too fast? I've been trying to get the pacing right but I think all of our minds run at different speeds 😁 (and I finished editing at 3am!) I also find that some places do run really quickly and especially when there's a lot going on, I get a bit overwhelmed and overexcited which doesn't help me!
